Laura Platt's orchestral remix of 'ASGORE' from Undertale, featuring TeraCMusic, Kristin Naigus, and Lauren The Flute.
This track was part of FALLEN, a huge 97-track album of Undertale arrangements featuring over 100 collaborators! I was lucky enough to have arranged and produced two of the tracks on this album, and you can check out the full album on iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp!

Asgore's theme has always been my absolute favourite piece from the Undertale soundtrack, and it was an absolute delight to be able to return to the theme with three beautiful performances by my fantastic collaborators on this track. I'm incredibly happy to be able to share this finished track with everyone!

What I like about this one remix, is how we can feel Asgore's side of the battle.
Remember when he destroyed the MERCY option?
He believes he does not deserve being spared.
He would rather die in a half-hearted fight, than live with the blood on his hands a second longer.
He sees himself as a despicable creature, not any better than the humans up there.
He wants to give his people hope, but he is already losing it himself.
This remix, it represents all that, all too well.

Perhaps if at least one of his children had survived that terrible night, he would’ve had enough mercy left in him to forgive the Humans…. But BOTH?

It's so different from the original theme, yet very refreshing and memorable. This is easily the best take on Asgore's theme I've heard.
I love this remix. Most remixes of this song just try to make it more epic when the battle is supposed to be asgore trying to let himself die. It’s not epic in any way, but more solemn as both the player and him are in acceptance of what is about to happen. Great job
Yeah, this one is one of my favourites on the album! Definitely gives a very different air to the piece! Great arrangement, Laura! And fantastic performances from Lauren, Tera and Kristin! :D

I've been a fan of PL511 for a while now. At least two years if I remember correctly. I have to say that this is what I needed right now. I wonder who that one dislike is (from this exact point in time) while people can like and dislike what they want I don't understand why somebody would dislike this, Laura worked really hard on this to.

FALLEN was one of my favorite albums on Bandcamp and I was really sad to see it gone (even though I still own the downloads), and even more sad to hear about the treatment that the artists endured from Materia Collective that resulted in the takedown. Do you know if any of the organizers of the original album are planning on re-releasing or collecting even just a portion of the album? I would personally repurchase almost every single track of the album. I don't want such an amazing tribute to video game music to be lost to history :(
I'm planning on re-releasing my tracks from FALLEN pretty soon - my version of Dogsong should be out in January, and this track will be releasing as part of my next album of orchestral arrangements! I'll reply again once I have more info, I'm also encouraging all creators who were involved to re-release their tracks independently. Thank you so much for the support!
Heya Laura! I wanted to say how incredible this is! Sounds really grand and still like a boss theme, which some can't manage when remixing Goatdad's theme. I also wanted to ask you something. Are you planning on remixing any of the area themes in Undertale (Waterfall, Another Medium etc)? Just curious.
Thanks for the praise! I've told myself that I'm done with Undertale a couple of times over the last year, but I'm working on Indie Game Classics Orchestrated - Volume 2 at the moment, and - well - Undertale is an indie game, right? :D
as i hear this music i see asgore giving it his all to stop a evil chara from killing him the last defense of the underground as asgore remembers his life from the birth of asriel and when he saw chara as his step child , the time he spent with his kingdom and his family , the times where his children used to play in this garden. As he fight the evil human he cries giving it his all as he is the king who has nothing , as the monster who lost his subjects lives from the human he is fighting, he fights with determination for he is The Mountain King of the Underground.

I guess that's Asgore's theme after he successfully captured the seventh soul from Frisk and destroy the barrier. I wonder how Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and the rest who knows Frisk are going to react that their human friend is gone but they are free from their underground prison. Let's not forget Flowey.
This gives me feelings of Aftertale or something from AFAC. BTW, this was goddamn amazing
