  • Indian customer service has been terrible. After waiting for this bike more than 5 months.. they're now screwing me on accessorizing it the way I want. I fell in love with this color, but had I known how difficult it would be to get color matched accessories, I might have opted for something else. Thanks for nothing Indian Motorcycles...
    Hey #advanblack if you wanna help me out and send me a tour pack to try out.. I'd be happy to give it a try.. and post a thorough review. :)

    Your bike is insanely gorgeous. I think you made the right decision with the backrest and rack. Get a nice black removal soft, large bag for your trip and take it off when you get home.

      Thx. I already had a great motorcycle luggage set so this worked out great for my trip to Laconia last week. I leave for Sturgis at the end of July.. and I'm sure it'll work great for that trip too. Would've liked the trunk tho. lol

      I probably should've just gone Advanblack from the start. I just figured the low-profile trunk was the easiest route since Indian paint matches it. But they really screwed me on the delivery and I needed something asap for a trip next week. Maybe some time in the future I'll do the Advanblack tho...

    Maybe an afterthought, but purchase an Indian Roadmaster and remove the trunk when not needed. Beautiful bike!

    I put a deposit down for a new Pursuit back in July 2022. Still hasn't arrived. Indian in USA seems to leave us Aussies as second rate customers 🤔🇦🇺

      Holy Moly. Thats insane. I purchased my Chieftain in April 22. I was told 6-8 weeks. I was still waiting end of August when someone else's bike arrived (same one I ordered) and they backed out of the deal. So I ended up getting that bike. My order didn't actually arrive at the dealer till October. 6 weeks... ended up being 6 months.
      The dealers had no in-stock inventory in 2022. I think its a little better now.. as my local dealer has a pretty large inventory on the showroom floor.

    Love the colour sadly, Indian wasn’t outright with you. My husband loves the bike but dealerships need to be honest with clients/potential customers otherwise they would lose business

    • @randomstuffwithjoe

      In fairness to my dealership.. they assumed I could get the full size trunk just like every other Chieftain. They were as surprised as I was when Indian declined to see it to me. As for the low profile.. when I ordered it.. Indian said 45-60 days. About a month later my dealer informed me that it was "out of stock" and the date got pushed out. But then Indian kept pushing it out further. Very frustrating.

    That's a dumb reason to be disappointed in the bike. Maybe the company, but not the bike

    • @randomstuffwithjoe

      Ya.. I guess its more of a disappointment with Indian and less with the bike. Indian should've been more clear about everything. But the bike is still fantastic.

    That’s disappointing for sure Joe. They won’t do my color either and neither will Advanblack. It will all work out in the end and you’ll have lots of fun on your trip. I’d rather have no trunk and your color than another color with a trunk.

    • @randomstuffwithjoe

      After the initial disappointment of not being able to get the full size trunk.. I was satisfied with getting the low-profile trunk. When I ordered it.. I was told they had trunks in stock and ready for paint. About 2 weeks later I was told they were back-ordered and it was gonna be a month longer than I was initially told. But even mid-April was fine.. as I figured I'd still have it with plenty of time for my trip. But then they pushed it out again.. and again.. and again. And today when they told me early July.. it was the last straw for me. I reluctantly canceled the order. Very disappointed with Indian's customer service on this.

      @@randomstuffwithjoe I understand Joe. I was sad for you as you described delay after delay. I do like the luggage rack on there!

    • @randomstuffwithjoe
      @randomstuffwithjoe  Год назад

      @@602North Its probably more practical. I saw the low profile trunk in person at my local dealer. It looked super cool.. but it didn't have a lot of capacity for long trips. At least with the rack.. we can get plenty of luggage on the bike. I'll probably just keep the low-profile sissy bar on it most of the time and swap it for the taller one when my wife rides with me or when I'm doing trips that require luggage.

    Get a black painted trunk and have it painted. Big deal.

    • @randomstuffwithjoe
      @randomstuffwithjoe  Год назад +2

      The problem with the low-profile trunk is that it was unavailable and they kept pushing out the date when it would be back in stock. As for getting a black trunk and re-painting it.. the Indian full-size trunk already costs more than $4000 all-in with mounting hardware etc. Spending another $600-1000 to get it repainted after already spending a ridiculous amount of money IS a big deal.

    Hey ... i understand your anger and you're right . Here in France ,i have waited for 1 year and 3 months to finally receiving the black lockable fuel cap for the gas tank of my Chief Dark Horse 22'... At my local Indian Dealer ,they said there is nothing to do ,because Indian got caught by surpise with the amount of orders for accesories .. so i told them to take time and give good advices to their new customers ,when they order a new bike ,ordering accesories at the same time ...

      The dealer I purchased my bike from is not great in the service department. Every time I try to book service or an install, they say “we’re booked 8-12 weeks out”. It’s frustrating. The up side is there’s another dealer about 30 miles away and their service has been excellent. Overall, I like Indian much more than HD. I do wish Triumph would get on board and produce a comparable bagger and touring bike.

    Are those Stage 1 slip ons ? Black tips sold separately? Color beautiful ! Get a nice tailbag!

      Yes, Stage 1 Indian slip-ons. The tips are included on this particular pipe. I was initially gonna do the Rhineharts, but I had a $500 Indian credit and these were on sale at the time so it was sort of an impulse purchase. I like them tho.
