@@RonnieVaiArovo What did you think I was referring to when I said "Deborah destroyed that guy...yet with these two". I was comparing this clip to a different one to show the inconsistencies from Dragons depending on who's pitching to them.
Maybe they haven't. Dragons Den does go scouting for entrants. And they are probably in a financial situation where there can be more focus on getting the business off the ground than making profit ie living at home or a husband who is already carrying the load. In those instances I can see how profit can be overlooked in the early days when all focus is on paying your taxes and building the business with any left over.

Being an entrepreneur or business owner doesn't automatically qualify as being competent at every department of the business operation! These 2 are more "people's person" than an accountant or financial advisor.... Lacking competency in the latter department doesn't mean they are "bad entrepreneurs" it just means they add value in other departments.
The dragons are exaggerating to the absolute max I’ve seen previous businesses come in to the den forgetting all they’re numbers and the dragons don’t penalise them like they have here. Sheer exaggeration
It depends on the proposed value of the business. At $1M they'd demand the numbers be well understood and memorised, no excuses. $500K is getting up there, but they allow some leeway. Less, and they can be tolerant.
True, but listing net profit figures is kind of pointless. They’ve basically memorised the wrong figures. These people are only ever interested in gross profit and assets/working capital, because that’s where the value comes from.

This is a great idea. Really good idea actually. My ex is a geologist and would love this. It’s pretty expensive getting custom rings made that u provide the gems u find. A ring is much more special when u design them. It’s kinda sad that the entrepreneurs are forced to memorize all the financial details. That stuff is all available on paper. I’ve actually seen an entrepreneur come in the Den reading from a paper once. I think he had aspergers or something. I just can’t see how it’s fair to accuse people of completely unable to run a company JUST because they didn’t memorize a ton of numbers at the last minute. They are always able to look at it (other than in the den). I don’t know just my opinion. Glad they got a deal.
