Our Lord is certainly trustworthy. Thank you, Dr Talley. The calamities sent to Judah were indeed avoidable if they listened to what The Lord said through Jeremiah 38:17-18. They could still be blessed (even Jerusalem needed not to be burnt down) when they were humble enough to accept exile so that the land could be laid waste as foretold in the whole book of Jeremiah. But they were not willing. Weren’t the Israelites too proud to listen to The Lord? Sadly, is there anything we believers refuse to listen even though The Bible has clearly demonstrated? The answer is certainly ‘yes’. Pray that The Lord will show mercies to us even though we are not humble enough to accept all the good He has finished (John 19:30) on The Cross. Praise the Lord.
We usually discuss whether The Lord is trustworthy. However, as a believer, why should we discuss a truth we need to rely on? If The Lord is not trustworthy, we are more pitiful than the world (1Corinthians 15:19). In fact, it’s not whether The Lord is trustworthy, it’s all about our willingness to trust Him and His Word. The Jews in Jeremiah’s time proved themselves failure by doubting God’s Word through Jeremiah. How about we as modern believers? Are we doubting His Word also? Take Isaiah 53:4-5 as an example, why should we doubt the clearly proclaimed words : ‘Surely……by His wound we are healed’? Why treat it as spiritual healing while the translation of Greek Septuagint of Matthew 8:17 pointed to physical sickness? We need to know from Hebrews 11:6 that without faith we cannot please God and neither can we get the rewards. Where is the physical healing now promised in Matthew 8:17? So clearly it’s not a problem of whether The Lord is trustworthy or not (we are too proud to discuss this truth). It’s a problem of our humility of whether we can accept God’s promises in the Bible which are ‘yes’ in Christ (2Corinthians 1:20). Satan always plays the trick of misleading us starting from Genesis 3 but we seem not better than Adam. Let’s pray for God’s opening of our spiritual heart to accept all His promises prepared for us. Amen Amen. Praise the Lord.
Yes , again thank you for proclaiming that The Lord is trustworthy while men are not. For me, I see the situation of Habakkuk happens nowadays but in a greater extent. Those who are rich and with powers are using all means to exploit the poor, resulting in 99% of world resources/riches going to hands of 1% and they again use this unbalanced power to grab as much as they can without any mercies to the poor. If Israelite history is only a type/pattern (Ecclesiastes 1:8-9, 1Corinthians 10:11) for the future world to come, God’s judgment will definitely come in His way (may be the 7 coming years’ tribulations) exactly as what Judah had suffered under reigns from Jehoiakim to Zedekiah. Praise the Lord. We as believers of God’s Word can do nothing but to rest and wait for deliverance of The Lord from Heaven, probably rapturing us to Heaven according to 1Thessalonians 4:16-17. Hallelujah.
He's the only One we can trust! And He sees things the rest of us can't. I'm good with trusting Him. 😊🙌🙌🙌
Thank You Lord Jesus, help us to trust YOU LORD!!! 🙏🙌🙌🙌🙏🏽
Amen! Thank you for this encouragement from God!!!! ❤️

We can TRUST THE LORD, because He says JEREMIAH 29:11 THAT HE KNOWS THE PLANS OR THOUGHTS HE HAS FOR US, NOT EVIL OR CALAMITY, BUT A FUTURE AND HOPE
