I guess you can try to argue the point, but Scott was never grunge. In fact, he tried his best to distance himself from grunge as early critics tried to compare him to Eddie Vedder. Weiland once said he wouldn’t be caught with flannel in his wardrobe.
this is a great example of Scotts ability to change his voice to the song but still retain undeniable quality and keep the scott weiland vibe. I'm glad he didn't release this cover with Core (ok so it would be impossible for that, but STP fans will get it)
Woow! I didn´t know about this cover, is Amazing listening to Scott Weiland singing a Nirvana´s song!!, Great Cover!. RIP Scott Weiland and Kurt Cobain, for me, the best 2 rock Singers Ever!!
@Lee. No that's not Kurt singing that is Scott Weiland from Stone temple pilots. I love this cover. Who would have guessed he's a Nirvana fan. I loved this cover more then his recent live cover of the song Let down by Radiohead. The fact he said Let down was his favorite song by his favorite band blew me away. Keep on rocking Scott !!
Heavy as a motherfucker! Obviously Scott sounds like the elegant gentleman he was. Excellent! The snare is beyond heavy. The insane guitar cacophony in bridge is some ill-ass stuff and I gotta give props to the Superbrain of producer/engineer /multi-instrumentalist Doug Gream! What an unexploited gem in an industry of pure pariahs. He's clearly an Albini Adherent! Word+
I met Scott on a few occasions after his shows,he took the time to speak with his fans,he was really awesome like that& spoke to him about Kurt,he had a lot of admiration for Kurt+Nirvana, this was his favorite Nirvana song,he covered it with respect &did a great job, dude was cool as shit&all about his fans
Anyone thinking this I is Nirvana and Kurt Cobain have never heard nirvana and Kurt Cobain. It"s a good cover but saying this is Kurt is very disrespectful to Kurt and nirvana. I could tell this was not Kurt and nirvana when the opening started.
illustrates the similarity of their voices. Basically a cleaner version of the song, virtually identical. I like it but I much prefer covers that radically reinterpret the originals somehow. Much more interesting that way.
Tim Orrok I love Nirvana , and I could say in good faith Kurt Cobain would think you're a soul-less 'yes-man' for worshipping his every recording like some infallible rock god. People like that got him killed in the first place!
Kurt and Scott, our angels of grunge!
Layne!
@@Tomas-te3ph of course! But Scott and Kurt are the stars in this one

@@sirlosealot0 yet he wore it on tribute to layne staley angry chair song, anyway thats the point ,and agree that he was not grunge

Wow man!! Thats too cool. Didnt know this existed. Very neato man.

Same raspy energetic feel as Kurt. RIP Scott

Woow! I didn´t know about this cover, is Amazing listening to Scott Weiland singing a Nirvana´s song!!, Great Cover!. RIP Scott Weiland and Kurt Cobain, for me, the best 2 rock Singers Ever!!
what about Cornell, Jagger, etc
Fuck me, big fan of Weiland since years, but didn't know about that!
If you think Rock 'N' Roll's a competition man... It's all except that.
That's not the only Nirvana song that Scott sings...He also sings "Negative Creep" with the band Velvet Revolver...Also a great cover.
Layne....
Grunge forever! Scott is really awesome!
soo soo soo much better than I anticipated! Scott Weiland is usually not my cup of anything. This rocks.
I am so glad I found this 😍

he also covered "Negative Creep" and not only once
I miss the comfort in being sad
I miss the comfort of being happy.

Wow, impressive!
Te amo
I think they did a great job. Anyone thinking Scott was trying to "outdo" Nirvana by covering this, you just don't get it.
he was a better singer in my opinion listening to his versatile genres to kurts. no disrespect kurt
mat11trick he was wayyy better than kurt at singing
Clearly, the man was a chameleon.
@mat11trick - couldn't have said it better myself.

❤
Love.
kick ass as always
I wish scott took better care of himself, there will never be another one like him.
RIP Scott
Miss him every day.
Great cover, even has the same guitar tone sorta and the same boomy drum sound.
01:32 "my favorite patience 😮"
Dope !
well... never expected that of scott weiland... If Kurt hadn't been that awesome and irreplaceable, he would have been the best atlernative! O.o
I like it, but I like more Cobain's tone of voice and the way (sad) sounds in the original version, still a nice cover :)
It wasn''t a competition. Consider it as a tribute, and the LEGEND who gave the tribute is quite an honor for anyone!
Where can I get Scott's cover album?
❤

I would never expect Kurt to handle Plush, so take it for what it is

Like to see krist Dave and pat jam with him ..
2019 Frances farmer will have her revenge 👹
¤:-) get ready... on your mark ... set ... SOMETHING IN THE WAY ¥¥¥
Didnt he retitle it 'frances farmer will get her revenge' not '......have her revenge'?
nope, it's frances farmer will have her revenge on seattle.
where did you find this on what album
a compilation of Scott weiland cover songs

Is this velvet revolver ?
This was Scott solo
Don't forget j
great cover, but it just sound the same, i would like to see like an scott version
Jay Reatard's version is better. He put his own spin to the song.
A radical reinterpretation is a double standard.
This is the most hypocritical cover in music history.
That's Kurt singing.
Good one
They can sound alot like eachother at times it might not be?
+LeeTheAgent I see what you did there :D
LeeTheAgent it's Kurt song but it's scott weilands singing fuck wit
No no no
The original was not that great of a song, he could have picked a better In Utero track!
