*CORRECTION:* There is a very long and convoluted way to make text type on in Premiere Pro, by keyframing the Source text in the Effect Panel and going frame by frame to add individual keyframes for new letters. It's a MASSIVE PAIN but I thought I ought to correct my statement that there's no way to do this in Premiere Pro. There is. It just sucks! 🤣 May 2020 Edit: There's a new version of this template coming very soon which fixes all the problems people who have After Effects installed in other languages have been having! Now it'll work fine for anyone, provided they have CC2020 installed!
Thanks for this great tool. It would be even better if you added a highlight feature to key words in the text. At the moment all text is same colour. Either the key words could be a different colour to the main text, or you could allow a background box to just appear as it moves over the keywords. Both would be a great addition. Let me know if you update it please.
I'd love to be able to add these sorts of features, but unfortunately it's just not possible to add those sort of features to a template in After Effects. The workaround I can suggest is to create the typewriter layer as you like it, then duplicate it and make it look and feel how you want the special words to stand out, then mask those out with the opacity property. Not a pretty solution but it's quick and it works
Hey I just went ahead and bought this neat time saver. Thanks for creating it! Edit: Make sure to update Premiere if the template doesn't show up for you!
@@dodmedia Hey thanks for the quick response. I just started updating premiere as I saw I wasn't on the newest version. Will let you know if that fixes it!
Glad to hear it! I don't know why they can't just make them backwards compatible. I guess because it uses whatever version of After Effects it's made on? Anyway glad you got it working!
Thank you. I just bought the template but I didn't know it was compatible only with premiere 2020. is it possible to make it compatible with premiere 2019?
Hi Martina, you could try opening the file in After Effects and exporting the template with that version in the Essential Graphics panel. Let me know if you can get it open in After Effects and I can guide you from there if that works
@@dodmedia I tried to open the ".mogrt" file as an archive and open the file "project.aegraphic" with After Effects cc2018 but it says: the file you are trying to open was created with version 17.0.6 and cannot be opened with this version.
@@MemeMarty I just open de .mogrt as a project with ae 2018 and then export it as Export Motion Graphics template. You have to turn on the essential graphics panel. The exported mogrt template exported this way, worked on my Premiere 2019.
Nice template, thanks! One thing though I would want to be able to do, is highlight certain words in a tekst by making them bold or a different color. But I can only change complete textblocks. Maybe a new feature in the next version?
Unfortunately that's not possible without going into After Effects. The font changes apply to the whole sentence by default and you can't tell the template to only affect some characters. Sorry 😟 limitations of the software
The font isn't changing for me . . . nor can I apply modifications such as 'bold' or 'italics.' It only works in the default typewriter font (for me). Any suggestions? Thank You!
Hey Arya, just to let you know there is a new version of this template coming very soon which features a lot of updates. Keep an eye out for the email which will have a download link for anyone who's already bought it. Thanks again for your support!
I've purchased the template and installed it. I've accessed it in essential graphics and dragged it into my sequence. Now I have no idea what to do. Nothing is popping up.
THANK YOU!!! I've been searching for 2 hours (yes, I know I wasted my time because I could have just done it in AE or gone line by line in Premiere, but this is so powerful and allows me to just stay in PP) :D
Hey sure! The typewriter template is literally just the text so you can have it over video footage or just on a blank background or texture image. Anything you want really! What look are you trying to achieve?
Hey thanks! This is something I'm aiming to fix in the next version. Because there's no way to control the text justification in After Effects via expressions, I had to come up with an alternative that achieves the same result but by alternating through 3 different text layers. As a result if you change the justification after making edits to the font, it'll revert to the default font. Looking into a solution around this!
Hey guys, I updated the template now you choose the justification first. That way you don't get to the end and lose your progress. I hope that helps! I'm struggling with the limitations of After Effects expression control and what can and can't be sent to Premiere Pro you see.
Um, need a help here. I bought this template today and when I tried this first in PP 2020, something weird happened. 2 sentences for one subtitle were created. I made the sub in language of Korean, so i thought that might be suspicious. How can I contact you for more details with captured pictures?
Hey first of all thank you for buying the template! Let's see what we can do to figure out the problem. First of all is your After Effects and Premiere Pro installed in English? And are After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Creative Cloud app all up to date?
@@dodmedia Oh, that was the point! English version help me out. Now the any other fonts are not applied on subs. It seems that only CourierNewPSMT is working on the template.
I bought the preset and am wondering why even at the slowest speed it types WAY faster than you can read it. AND it speeds up as it goes... can this be adjusted???
Hey thanks for purchasing the template! Can you give me some more info about quantity of text you're using and what you have the speed slider set to? That'll help me to create fine tuning to add in a version update. I'll also see if I can add a switch to disable the easy ease so it remains a constant speed if the user wants that. I appreciate your help and support!
I'm unable to import this typewriter graphics template into the Presets folder in Premiere. Please assist me with using this preset, i normally drag and drop.
Nice Video,! Your lighting is awesome!
Just purchased thank you
💪💪 thank you! Let me know how you get on with it

Hi Danielle, no this simply a text input template so you have to manually type or paste text into the text box.
I'm confused, I'm fairly new to Premier Pro. Is this not just like a linear wipe effect or am I being dumb?
Been looking for something like this for a while! Thanks so much more making it!
Paragraph justification 1 or 3 will set the text font back to the original. Only option 2 will actually appear in the font chosen :(

Hmm there isn't, but it's a good idea! Let me see if I can make it happen
What a pity, while working with PP'18 ist simply crashes.
Yeah I did say it's only for CC2020 onwards. It uses the new JavaScript engine in After Effects that's why.
You really saved me lots of time. Thank you!!!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate that! Like your videos :)
Will it work with 2018 PPro ?
Unfortunately not. It needs the new Javascript engine from After Effects CC2020 to work.
