And that was to be repeated again and again whenever I sang this song. Later I discovered that it was originally written and performed by Richard and Karen Carpenter.

Man, the first licks of that guitar in this gem almost brings tears to my eyes. It is so real, soulful, and powerful. I grew up in the Deep South years ago listening to my parents and older relatives playing this genuinely fantastic music. They'd sit around and talk about current world affairs. Their conversations were so DEEP as well as the music. Man, Bobby's music was perfect since he's always been "real, not commercial". Thank God I have those experiences!!!
