What a great day this is... great videos are coming out by the minute. Really enjoy following you two on this adventure Dixon 👏🏻Great work and hope you will do much more of this in the future 🔥
Can I ask what set up your mate Gary had on that CRF450L? I’ve just bought one to do some TETing. Also excellent video series. Shame you lost that GoPro!
Hi Paul, sorry for the late reply, Gary has the 11.2 litre fuel tank, Seats Concept seat, Adventure spec mini fairing, with Montana 600.gps- he also has heated grips an Usb all wired into the bike and placed at the front on the fairing. Stock gearing. He ran a mousse on the front and UHD tube on the back due to the Moto Z hybrid rear tire. Power upgrade. Thats it I think. Its a lovely bike
Nice one lads enjoyed that, I am seriously considering chopping in my 2018 Africa Twin for the full power CRF450L, I am going to be about 70% road 30% trails, I live in Brecon and have had a few older dirt bikes in the past, after watching Dave from Adv Spec take one to Morocco, and stuff like yours I am very tempted, any thoughts? Cheers Daz
Hi JP, great videos. I am just buying a 790 and want to do both on and off road. What satnav and mount are you using? What else have you changed from stock bike or would you suggest? I want to do the TET UK and Europe.
Hey buddy, I have a video on my channel about some of the mods I did on the bike before the trip : ruclips.net/video/F9ZkAdrykUg/видео.html The GPS is a Garmin 610 Montana and the mount is a Vanashe Mount. Both work great, although I have upgraded to the Montana 700 as I wanted a bigger screen. ( old man eyes)- I hope that helps, tire are few more videos on my channel. Thanks for watching. please subscribe if you liked the videos..
very cool series! can i ask you something, as a fellow 790r rider, how do you find the 450L? i have the 790r and a sherco 300 enduro bike and am strongly considering getting one more bike for exploring the mountains locally - i need to drive for up to 200km to get to them, and then do hundreds of km there, on dirt roads between villages, on asphalt mountain passes, on foot trails and animal trails, with all my kit. i’m not afraid of maintenance but doing it on an enduro race bike would kill it very fast, and the vibrations on the road would kill me (yes i tried). on the other hand i would certainly want something lighter in the mountains - 690 does not feel like substantial enough difference offroad compared to 790, and i don’t have access to exc500 or 450L to try them here in Ukraine, but hear that 450L is not awful on the road. does it feel more manageable than 790r for you and your friend personally, once you put the luggage on? i’m looking for the ultimate weapon to finish tracks for renewed TET Ukraine :)
Hi Eugene, I don't ride the 450 regularly as it s Gary's bike but I have ridden it enough to try and answer your question. Yes it has very good road manners, it has a lot of dampening in the subframe and swing arm which helps considerably to reduce the vibrations. The down side is that increases the weight. I have riden it on the road a little and tbh it feels very similar to 500 exc but heavier. . ktm 690 146kg v Honda 450 l 131kg - KTM 500 exc 113kg. if it was me I would buy a 500 exc. or stick with the 790.
Great work im really enjoyed to watch your videos. Im from Lancashire and i want to try some TET routes i will be more the happy if you send me a map of your Lancashire TET route. Thanks Peter

Gary loves his 450- its road manners are great for an enduro style bike
Great video. Tyre ruined after such a short distance is poor! What trials tyre did you put on? Cheers.
I can't remember, I will ask Gary to have a look and get back to you .
