One thing I love about this is there is no right or wrong.
Dream is just doing his job, spreading joy and happiness.
Nightmare is sick of people choosing Dream over him, thus hurting others as he thinks that everyone hates him and wanting to give them a taste of their own medicine, feeling very sad however unable to die.
However, the light cannot exist without the darkness.
Classic, Fell and Blueberry just want Cross to leave them alone. (Not very accurate)
Cross Sans wants his happy ending back.
Cross Chara, whose actual task still lays unknown till this episode, wants a physical body and soul they can control.
Ink... is a true chaotic neutral, who only needs the AUs for his feelings.
The worst thing about backstabbing is that it never comes from an enemy.
Ink actually is a villain in the story. He just wants to have fun with the universes and manipulates them for 'fun'. You can see in this episode, he stopped having feelings for his motive but had to wait for his 'paint' to run out so it could stop completely. X!Chara wants to create their universe with a natural flow of time unlike their universe which was routinely overwritten time and time again, but didn't want to hurt X!Gaster. In attempting to stop the overwrites, which funny enough is like Sans trying to stop the resets. With all the "reset"-like overwrites, they soon went insane from repeating everything again and again. Even losing his brother 3 times (X!Frisk), first when overwritten by Gaster to start a genocide timeline, second when killed over and over by himself to make Frisk join them, last when Cross started to kill all of them for his doomed-from-the-start plan of his. This made a big effect on Chara's psyche, being tortured as 'experiments' by X!Gaster. Nightmare tho, he is over that choosing Dream over him stuff and is blinded with his hatred and is now no longer in control of himself. Ink is manipulating things from the background to his advantage and doesn't care about the small amount of timelines affected by Cross' rampage.

I still think this is the best episode from a writing and musical standpoint. (if we're excluding XTale, of course. That one has been Jael's best Undertale related work to date.)
The episode that made Underverse into something even more special, in my opinion.

I will forever be thankful and glad jakei left this ep as it is...
There's always been a few small quirks in these older animations that i really loved(like the things with the borders) so I'm glad it was left untouched

I just wanted to say that animating is most definitely NOT easy. Jakei is trying their best to get animations out at a steady pace, and that the next episode will mostly likely take over 4 months to animate. Please do not rush them (that’s probably what got the comments disabled in the first place)
We all like this series and would love for episodes to be faster, just give them some time, because they definitely deserve a break after animating this!

There's a secret message I don't think most people caught. Like one frame before X-Chara gets hit by US Sans' attack when attempting to stab Ink, a secret message appears with the picture of X-Gaster. The message is in wingdings, but I've translated it to "YOUR CREATIVITY IS A SHAME". That probably has something to do with the Overwrite wearing off

I just remembered that if Ink doesn't take his paints he looses all his emotions, becoming a "empty husk" of himself and can be "puppeteered" or controlled/told what to do by another because otherwise he can't do anything (this is from the Inktale FAQ made by comyet---Ink's creator---on Tumblr btw). We've already been seeing his eyelights dimming and becoming more expressionless, plus I haven't seen him take his vials once, ON TOP of the fact that Dream can't feel anything from him, which would mean that Ink is currently that husk of himself, and would canonically not be able to have motivation or drive to do literally anything. Add this with what we've been seeing with the crack in the container of X-Gaster's soul and his appearances, and his more obvious showing right beside an emotionless Ink in practically the same pose just transparent and floating, and it seems pretty obvious that Gaster is either controlling or commanding Ink to continue with the game or whatever he/they have planned. Especially since it seems that Ink has been feeling conflicted or at least hesitant on the whole thing. This also explains why he starts acting off and not at all like his canon self in future videos. Also, there are other facts from other videos/media as well that points toward this with Ink at some point admitting he hasn't been taking his vials because what he's going to do requires that, either because he knows he won't continue otherwise or because Gaster needs him to to control him and Ink goes along with it because of their promise, the truce, his fears about no creativity/creation and being forgotten, or a mix of those things. I know soms other people have probably came to that conclusion as I am very late, but plenty of people haven't and still haven't, and this is just my idea/theory that I came up with even if this is not all I have to say (because ain't no way I'm writting more lol). Honestly this whole series is so fun! :D

I believe that one thing that is an integral part in any good masterpiece is the sound. Beside music, The overall sounds of the surroundings are really important and very engaging, Aswell as increasing the quality of the realness factor, And the quality of the overall masterpiece.

I also think I'm on to something here about Ink.
That vial broke, and Dream said he can't sense Ink's emotions. Ink's origin was actually as an empty, emotionless shell, and I think that vial was the reason he was able to feel. Without it, he's back to being empty. And boy, are things gonna get interesting now. Without the ability to care, Ink might just give up on what he's doing. And boy, are the other Sanses gonna be mad if that happens~
I hope I'm not over-analyzing this, but I think I have a part of the next episode figured out owo Hoo boy, this is gonna be good

I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought of that! But I kinda see it this way:
Maybe the white vial has a liquid capable of draining all of Ink's emotions away, since white is the lack of color and black is all of the colors together. Maybe Ink couldn't attack Cross because he saw him as a friend, so in order to stop the X-event, Ink drank a bit of the white thing to stop feeling pity for Cross. I don't think he would stop caring about the AU's since without them, he would cease to exist, because the creativity of the creators is what keeps him alive. And the will to stay alive is more of a instinct than a feeling. Or maybe he drank just a little bit so he wouldn't lose his feelings completely.
