I know this is supposed to be a villain's theme, but this arrangement somehow gives me tragic hero vibes. I think it would fit Shattered Glass Megatron a lot.
If you reorient your brain a little, one could interpret the Decepticons in the Bay movies as 'whatever it takes' heroes while the Autobots are brutal imperialist villains. It obviously wasn't intentional, but the way Bay constructed the films and the characters allows for that interpretation with very little tweaking.
I feel like Bay Megatron doesn’t get enough credit as a distinct iteration of the character. When you boil it down, his motivations were always just about rebuilding the home that his war had destroyed, no matter what it took to achieve it. In his view, we humans are all disgusting vermin anyway, no better than insects. So why prioritize such short, insignificant lives over the lives of his own species? Megatron’s ambitions for conquest are dwarfed by his desire to just… go home.
I find myself in agreement. We find cockroaches and many other insects disgusting, right? They are nothing to us, we exterminate them, and happily go about our lives. We swat mosquitos and flies. So how is Megatron different? He simply is unable to see us anything other than very short lived bloody, fleshy and dirty bugs.
After watching TF: One, this theme hits different. Yeah, they’re different continuities, but you also gotta realize that Megatron was once an actual hero for the people. This portrays his tragic fall from heroism.
This. Is. EPIC!!! I'm an unironic fan of the Micheal Bay Transormers films and I didn't even know Megatron had a (good) theme until I heard this! You did an amazing job and I am totally going to check out your other Transformers covers. You've most certainly earned my respect for doing the Overlord of the Decepticons justice!

I feel like Megatron in bayverse is literally just a dark hero, so this actually fits super well. Especially in the third movie where he literally asks Optimus to join him despite them being at war for millions of years. He had just gotten betrayed by his mentor, so i understand why he did what he did. Same with Megatron in Transformers One, which is why I'm on his side too really. Funnily enough both mentor traitors are the same guy LOL

I love that this has almost a somber and heroic tone to it. Like it's borderline a corrupted uplifting one.
Megatron was a gladiator and the guardian of Cybertron, so he is a hero to Cybertron but not on Earth hence the darker tone.
Yeah, I never expected Megatron to have an almost heroic theme, but it suits him in a strange way.
His original DOTM theme is much darker, this remake suits his Cybertron days much more.
