The secret military base near Rosewood! Also if you wait until you get to the part Spiffo tells you to press Q, and then run for the science control room while zombies follow you, you'll find several zombies in lab coats. Spiffo won't yell at you to leave either. Some think it implies that the scientists were manipulating the tutorial itself.
my theory for the "hermit survivor" near CGE is this: CGE Corp set up in this area to produce whatever they used to produce. They built the little town to house their workers, avoiding long commutes. Consequently, the single-pump gas station to the north-west near the fishing place set up. Note how that place doesn't have a living area upstairs! So the owner of that gas station may live in the single leftover house. Eventually, CGE either left the area or went bankrupt. Their workers went with them, abandoning all but one house: The gas station owner's. They've since been trying to get self sufficient to avoid long supply drives to Riverside. Now, in recent years, either a new company, McCoy or CGE has been attempting to set up right to the south of the town. They bought up a large area of forest as well as two plots in the town itself - you can see a fresh construction site in the north-east of the town, including McCoy trailers. That construction site was likely dedicated for the overseer of the larger construction project of the actual facility down south, meaning the gas station owner wouldn't be alone anymore. The construction site in town is probably new because there is way less grass around, it has a paved driveway and even scaffolding still around. Also the wall frames would have simply collapsed over the years. The Squatters of CGE have been driven out, but the construction workers brought a new threat to the remote area: The Infection. The survivor you're hoping for is likely dead, just like everyone else.
Nice video! Would love to see a next version that pinpoints some more of the 'environmental storytelling' places, there are a bunch more (several parties, superbowl, etc) i know about but never really been sure if they are always in the same locations or more randomized then the ones you show in this video. Not really a secret but more of a bonus like the last one, if you go to the unfinished towns in the north-west you can find a massive mall (biggest on the map?) thats already populated with items, can pretty much build your own town there on a multiplayer server with all the stuff you will ever need ^^ Also not really a secret but more of a bonus (and possibly the coolest to explore because it actually can spawn rare loot) is the prison deep into the forest in the same area (was used in several public stress-test scenario's for some of the early multiplayer build updates, lot of fun)
North West? I know of the louisville mall and the one thats more south, where exactly is this northwest one? Not sure if I've ever found this particular building before.
Unless you mean the section of the abandoned town with what's more like a strip of several shops right next to eachother, not a multi-level mall like the others?
@@nerfherder4284 I only just started playing the game, but it would be even funnier if the TP hoarder houses were specifically added after the initial Covid wave, when everybody was sold out of toilet paper.
Here's a thought: What if the motel was involved with whoever Patient Zero was? They're the first one that turned, killed someone, somehow got out and the police just caught the aftermath
I think the Spiffo room with computers inside is a Silent Hill reference to the "The Dog is the mastermind" ending. This is a joke ending in Silent Hill where it turns out a dog has been controlling everything from behind the scenes
F.Y.I survivor npc will not be added in build 42, they will only add animals to be hunted. the npc survivors will be added in build 43, so for those who dont know about this please dont get your hopes up
I believe number 6 is not a murder scene but rather the place where an infected or maybe the patient zero stayed, explaining the blood, the stretcher at the front with the roadblocks, placed by paramedics or the military, which could explain the lack of evidence, being taken with the people at the motel to the quarantine zone.
I think the fortress will be placed on the other side of the map later to be fort Knox. It's not a square it's actually a star fort built around the start of America's history, and I think would make an excellent base thanks to a star forts original purpose and targets.
The "Methlab" is one of my go to Muldraugh bases. It has saved me countless times with some of the horde mods I generally run with. That roof is a great firing and last ditch survival platform too.

Speaking of the gold stash in louisville that helldvan mentioned is also the name of a Metallica song, "The Ecstasy Of Gold". Another fun fact too, is if anyone has seen the comedy show "key & peele" on comedy central, around the SE section of louisville is a gun store named, "A.A.RON Gun supply" or something to that extent. That was way too funny when I found that which was from a PZ series done by "Pr1vatelime".

That's Brandenburg which I heard is planned to be added in b42, not 100% sure though. The town was hit by a tornado which caused the damage to the buildings.
I think the last one's probably a colonial-era fortress built by the French or English on the Ohio River. It'd make sense given the stone construction and antiquated feel.
I'm pretty sure the mansion with the boarded up children's room is a "Flowers in the Attic" reference and the Motel crime scene is a "Psycho" reference.
