_"It's an onion but what is it?!"_ really is a perfectly succinct demonstration of Arlo's state of mind during the Pikmin trailer. Smooth and broken. Like a polished marble being shattered with a sledge hammer.

@@netweed09 Okay, so, yes, they are not humans. The "Olimar people" are Hocotatians, from planet Hocotate (or Koppaites from planet Koppai - and there might be more from other planets for all we know). Pikmin 2 established with pretty acceptable certainty that the planet the little people travel is a post-apocalyptic Earth, with all of the present-day fauna, humans included, being seemingly extinct.
Something to note, on the nintendo website, the page for pikmin 4 shows a bigger version of that box art and rock pikmin are shown as well as a bunch of flying pikmin. So it seems like we might potentially have purple, white, rock, and flying all returning in the main story mode. Which would mean 8 pikmin total when you count in the original 3 and ice. Which is a lot since the most we've had in the main story has always been just 5 types
You should probably play, or watch someone play the other games first because they’re pretty cool and also have SOME semblance of story to them so it’s better if you know that stuff too.
@@pikminologueraisin2139 I was thinking of Dazz too, but like, Dazz had the misfortune of covering a shitty disappointment of a game when it first came out : (
@@carnage0685 I definitely don't think that Pikmin 3 was a disappointment (maybe sales wise but not gameplay wise). I think that all 3 games are great and have different aspects in each that they excel at. 3's in particular are perfecting multitasking, most balanced pikmin selection, its mission mode, and Bingo Battle. The other games certainly 1 up it in other areas and Pikmin 3 is not my favorite, but I still think most people considerate a strong entry. I think anyone can make a solid case for why any of the 3 games are their favorite.
@@lukers9819 I'm just pissed that we waited 9 years for almost over 2x less content than Pikmin 2, and that they ruined Purple and White Pikmin while replacing Purples with the less engaging Rock Pikmin. Flying Pikmin were cool, though. I guess Pikmin 3 does have multitasking over the other entries in the series, but that's honestly it for me. Well, that and graphics, but Pikmin 2 had fantastic graphics for its system, as well, so it's not really even unique in that regard.
The dog reminds me a lot of breadbugs. They look extremely similar, down to body shape, leg placement, and even animations (look how it pulls things). Also, the pink crystals seem to represent landing zones. They're present at the ship's location in caves, and the ship can be seen in the background at places that don't look like that initial area with the large Hocatatian ship. So you can probably change landing zones within the area.
@@TheManOfManyNames.Yeah, but we've known that Hocotatian Dogs look like Bulborbs since Pikmin 1, since he named the Bulborbs after their resemblance to his own dog Bulby.
Fun note: Not just whites and purples may be returning, but if you look at the thumbnail that they use for the trailer, even the rocks and flying pikmin are in it. Although they seem to have completely removed the rocks in the version on the cover of the game, and moved the flying pikmin to fit further into the background.
I imagine there's another new type, and the rocks are interacting with it on the box art so they just hid the rocks until the new one is revealed and both will be added
I feel like Arlo wrote this in 5 minutes out of pure hype and had to stop himself from making a 12 hour dissection because he thought no one would watch that.
One thing I noticed is how there are no blue pikmin on screen any time the main character has ice pikmin following them. I think this might be hinting that blue pikmin turn into ice pikmin. How cool would it be if each of the original three pikmin types get a new “elemental” variation they can transform into. Fire pikmin, lightning pikmin, ice pikmin. That’s my prediction.
Very interesting idea. I'm inclined to believes this because the functionality of the ice pikmin basically supersedes the water ones making them irrelevant. Sure blue can swim in water but ice can remove water as an obstacle for all pikmin and more. I wonder what the fire and lightning equivalents would be though
@@benjabby Definitely, very interesting idea. There was also that bit where Arlo speculated that the Reds were "cooking" that wall to make it climbable, which also supports this idea. We didn't see the Yellows doing anything special, though. Perhaps they can make some kind of lightning storm that zaps and/or stuns enemies, and/or activates the human machines.
That was a very good observation. I really think that you're right, which would definitely be very cool, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up. It would explain how there could still be so many playable pikmin types even without also adding ice Pikmin to the mix
Water and ice pikmin have totally different functions and could be use in conjunction. Freeze the top of water but take the blue pikmin underwater to avoid enmities in the water or
I’m really liking the new onion design. Feels like a great mixture of the old classic design with the simple colors and the more organic appearance of 3’s design. Also Oatchi definitely looks like a domesticated breadbug which is cool.
Also worth noting: the camera follows the captain in the shot at 27:04, but follows Oatchi at 28:35, meaning you may be able to switch between controlling the captain(s) and doggo
I've been having a really hard day and as I was watching this I felt my mood rising and the dark clouds clearing. It cannot be overstated how pikmin content is a massive contribution to my overall mental health
Arlo, my man. I can't express to you how much your enthusiasm about this game about tiny little plant men means to me. I fell in love with Pikmin under... unusual circumstances (Nintendo land), and it's always been my comfort game. No matter HOW bad current gaming is, I can always count on Pikmin. Now, with a new game on the horizon, I'm excited to see what NEW stories will be shown to us.
Cover art shows rocks and wings! 8 Pikmin types + a dog... We shall lead them all to victory! This was amazing, thank you for getting us more hyped about Pikmin 4!
When Arlo says he could talk for hours about Pikmin if he let himself, I’ve always said I would absolutely let him. This is the kind of content that appeals to me.
I don't care at all about Pikmin but I watch all of Arlo's Pikmin videos because its just so nice hearing someone talk about things they are passionate about. Arlo's joy is infectious and turns my day around.
My favorite part of this trailer is that it actually looks like a difficult game, especially with the disco ball spider in the cave where you have NO idea where the legs are going to stomp. Looks like a nightmare of your pikmin dying a lot. Before with the old camera angle you could see where he was gunna stomp but no longer is that the case
Thank goodness. Pikmin 3 was way too easy. On my first playthrough of the Deluxe edition's Hard mode I didn't lose a single Pikmin and I'm no epic speedrunner gamer. Pikmin 1 and 2 could be a cacophony of death if you dropped your guard. Game Overs were hard, but losing numbers was really easy. And it made you think about strategy and resource allocation before you executed your plans. 3 by comparison had barely any such depth. I hope this is another game where you have to think to succeed.
@@tacticaljunk1608 I've played 1 a ton of times, never really thought of it as hard (or "not easy") except for the first playthrough I guess. I always beat it 0 pikmin deaths. 2 I don't remember much difficulty. 3 for sure was pretty easy. Though the last boss was a bitch to get no pikmin deaths 😅 Idk if 4 will be difficult though, judging by the trailer. They always make the one playing in the trailer not be the best at the game. I hope it is!
Idk about that. Most enemies should fit on screen, and even previous spider bosses never required you to react to them stomping around- it happens too fast to do so. Instead you can predict their movement, since it's pretty simple and repetitive.
Speaking of the name "Oatchi" that Arlo mentions in the pinned comment, I believe it's a reference to a common name for dogs in Japan, "Pochi;" It's often equated to how in the United States (and possibly other English-speaking countries,) many people name their dog "Spot." There also appears to be a brand of oat-based mochi in Japan by name "Oatchi." Maybe the idea they were going for is that the creature is "a Pochi that looks like oat mochi?"
Well the tricky thing here is that the pet name I have seen romanized 3 ways being Pochi, Pocchi or Potchi. The first doesn't have the tsu character the second has you hold out the chi and the last takes the t from the tsu. I feel that is more likely the case than it being the word oat. So another way to romanize it might be Oacchi. But it being oat mochi is an interesting idea.
Pikmin's English main character names have always been very faithful romanisations of their original Japanese names. Orimā = Olimar Rūi = Louie Arufu = Alph Buritonī = Brittany Chārī = Charlie The only real outlier is The President, who is named Shachō in Japanese.
23:53 another thing to note about this shot is that there is a light blue circle around the bulborb's health meter, meaning ice pikmin's freezing capabilities is passive, not from the bulborb eating them. Or a combination of both.
@@aidankocherhans9861 I would disagree, the video is slowed, so it's difficult to notice, but the bulborb is definitely taking damage, the spike in damage is probably because of more pikmin having been tossed onto the bulborb, not it freezing.
Honestly I love your extended, passionate analysis, I'm glad you made it into a longer video. Every moment bleeds with your love for the franchise and that's the best kind of content imo
Those blank signs look like the ones you put in a garden to label the flora. I wonder if you get to name the things you discover or if they are just decorative.
Arlo did it, he literally willed Pikmin 4 into existence. You can literally hear in this excellent trailer analysis video how genuinely excited and thrilled he is for this game.
something i haven't seen anyone bring up yet, when we see Oatchi dragging the bulborb (28:35) the camera follows Oatchi and the captain is in an idle animation... what if we're able to actually switch over to controlling Oatchi like a separate captain to control where pikmin are leading items? i don't know what that would mean for gameplay- but it definitely looks like that's the case
Just hearing how someone truly and purely enjoys something so wholesome gives me so much joy too. I LOVE the Pikman videos Arlo does because of how much he loves them. I love Arlo, he is a very comforting happy place for me. Thank you, Arlo!
I’ve been checking your channel multiple times everyday since the direct! I’m so glad it’s finally here! I was hoping for 30+ minutes and I’m not disappointed! Thank you Arlo, I’m so ready to listen to this!
I love his voice at the start it's so wholesome and I can tell he was so excited that he didn't know how to express it. It's such a great feeling when the game you are the MOST excited has its first real trailer, and I felt the same way with the Splatoon 3 direct. I would love to hear some of y'all's experience with a trailer you just fell in love with
It sort of looks like a mesh of Pikmin 2 with the caves and Pikmin 3 with the new style, not to mention the bells and whistles not seen elsewhere in the franchise. Looks very one of a kind so far and will make a fine birthday present for me when it releases in July.
i gots things: 1) it really looks like you are directly controlling oatchi when he carries that bulborb 2)I think we've seen duplicate treasures which seems like it would suggest an actual economic use for them 3) I really like arlo's catch with the red pikmin baking the wall beccause it makes a lot of sense with my prediction that ice pikmin are blue pikmin. It really feels like they are trying to hammer home their connection. They are never on screen together (they are in some box art tho), they both have powers related to water and it looks like they aren't drowning before the water freezes. If arlo is also right we should be getting elemental powers for each of the main 3. Even more of a gamble is that I think the "gems" aren't gems and they are a resource needed to use these elemental abilities. I love being able to speculate about this stuff, love the vid!
If this trailer breakdown is any indication, the eventual Big Fat Review of Pikmin 4 will probably be about as long as the one for Breath of the Wild. So happy to see how excited you are about the game! I'm also thrilled that caves are coming back!
I'm so excited for this game to come out. The ice pikmin and Oatchi look like they're going to be a lot of fun and very helpful. And I can't wait to find out what the bulborb getting possessed was about. I know Arlo and I will have a blast with this.
Just to make a note, I don't think the Pikmin were poisoned in the footage fighting the new long legs varient. I think they were just attracted to the color of the lights and were made temporary unusable. Meaning you'll either have to wait for the light to change color so you can use those Pikmin again or have to do something with the dog to force the boss to change colors
THANKS FOR THE SHOUTOUT MAN! Just so everyone knows I also make Pikmin content and it's super Interesting... Did you know there are LOST PIKMIN GAMES?!! Anyway, thanks again!!!
I've never even played Pikmin yet I just sat through a 50 minute vid about a Pikmin trailer, so yeah Arlo I think you did a good job representing Pikmin.
Something I’ve noticed is that Pikmin can lose their flower and revert to buds like in Pikmin one and two. For reference, look at when the red Pikmin are attacking the fiery blow hog. They’re all flowers, and then once they get launched off, there is a petal flutter animation, and one of the Pikmin has a bud now. Oh yeah, and I bet the baby snagrets are going to be called something like “snaglets”
my running theory for ice pikmin is that they are a variation of blue pikmin, not necessarily their own pikmin type. Notice that every time the player has ice pikmin, there are no blue pikmin. Which makes me wonder if we will have *three* new pikmin types, one upgrade for each original of the trio.
This sounds plausible. Probably an upgrade spray or some super food similar to the nectar. Allows the reds to generate heat, blues to become ice, and maybe yellow can transform to pure electricity and travel through wires or something.
I'm definitely thinking that the Captains are going to be an all-new alien race. They have the pointed ears and desire for treasure of the Hocotatians, but the open, rounded eyes and plentiful hair of the Koppaites. If it was just the main girl, I'd say she could be a half-blood of the two, but all four of them are like that.
so hyped for the return of caves! unfortunately probably won't be quite as difficult as before but at least they are listening. And the new camera angle really enhances the sense of scale.
Arlo, I was mad that you took so long to upload this after seeing Zelda getting a vid a day after the direct, but seeing that 50 minute mark... it put a smile in my face and a tear rolled down my cheek. I knew you wouldn't disappoint and I'm glad I had patience. THANK YOUUU
The closest thing I've ever played to a Pikmin game was the Pikmin minigame in Nintendoland, but the fact that Arlo is so happy about this game makes me happy.
Started playing pikmin 3 deluxe purely because of Arlo. Two months later I have played it 80 hours (or more) 😂 So much looking forward to the next chapter of this amazing invention.
I've been waiting for this video for a couple of days now. I saw Arlo's reaction video on this part, and it was basically how I felt when it aired. Freaking finally the game is coming!
i have the idea that this may be an “open world” kinda Pikmin game. seeing the whole house and backyard like this makes me think that you can just walk around anywhere you want. the first area is by the gate with the bench, maybe the front yard leading up to the house? then there’s the backyard and even the house itself. imagining being able to just walk wherever you want, going from one big area to the next by walking through the front door or going around to the back sounds fun~ you can start the day picking where to land and you can decide to walk between areas, even finding shortcuts to “teleport” or quick travel to different areas will give some real interesting time management gameplay
I like how you pointed out the White and Purple Pikmin on the boxart, but not the Winged Pikmin. So that's seven types, not six. Speaking of Winged Pikmin, in that clip where the fight the Fiery Blowhog, in the background you see something that reminds me a lot of the clipboards that Winged Pikmin lift in 3. Also, with regards to "will the other Pikmin types get added to the Onion?", it might not mean anything, but in all three previous games, Blue Pikmin were the last Pikmin type you found. The onion we see in the trailer includes Red, Yellow, and Blue. This could mean that White, Purple, Ice, and maybe even Winged Pikmin don't get added to the Onion, or it could just be that they mixed it up and we don't get Blues last.
I have started playing the Pikmin games on my Steam Deck because of Arlo's infectious excitement for this game. I am really enjoying them so far. I can see why they hold such a special place in his heart.
The Deck's trackpads work really well for pointer controls, it's just such a shame that you can't use them in 3 Deluxe. I hope the next Nintendo console has trackpads on the controllers. I'm sure they could make great use of them - if for nothing else, they can at least act as an alternative to Gyro for more precise aiming than sticks. I think Nintendo could definitely be the ones to actually make dual trackpad a legitimate standard for all controllers. After all, they did the same thing for motion controls and touch-screen input - take an existing technology, and make it mainstream by showing a wide audience how the technology can be used to enhance games.
I wish Nintendo would make a little Arlo cameo in one of their Pikmin games. Like a little trophy or bumper sticker for Olimar’s ship. :D he’s just so pure in his love for Pikmin it makes me happy.
The caves in Pikmin 2 were actually pretty easy for me. Though admittedly because time stood still in them, I cheesed a lot of them by going into a floor alone and slowly punching to death as many creatures as I could before moving forward with my Pikmin. It made it much easier to conserve my Pikmin that way, and it offered a fun change of pace as I was actively fighting stuff directly.
What a great time to be alive. I so enjoyed watching all this excitement. :) Two things not mentioned in the video that I noticed while watching: 1. In the disco spider fight, it looks like the pikmin are drawn to and start kinda dancing under the yellow light? 2. The nighttime teaser has two little den-looking things in the high up shot, looks kinda like some dirt cabins or caves. I'm really curious about what this could be! Also the bridge thing that Arlo mentioned but then dismissed, I'm assuming the material is that sort of patchy clay similar to the climbable wall? It looks the same as before the wall is finalized, so it may just be an unfinished bridge as he suggested.
Years ago, I probably wouldn't have even glanced at this game. But now, with the help of years of Arlo's enthusiasm, I'm pretty excited about it. Plus, it comes out on my birthday, so there's no reason not to get it.
The treasure at 6:24 looks like a castanet. I remember playing with the exact ones in elementary school haha! So hyped for this game, and watching this vid has made me even more so.
Try not to get too down about the rock and flying pikmin!! As someone who's only played one Pikmin game this was super insightful and as always very cathartic to watch! We appreciate all the hard work you put into finding so many details like the super Pikmin authority you are!
I think Shepherd talking about Oatchi’s breed and the fact that he doesn’t need a helmet, plus the castaway mechanic gives me the idea that Hocotatians are coming to PNF-404 much more frequently and Oatchi is native to the planet!
So I only just got around to playing Pikmin 3 this week and I'm officially obsessed... Had to go back to all the Arlo videos to listen to your reviews with better context and also build my Pikmin 4 hype 🤩
Props to Pikmin, this is the kind of full-blown gameplay trailer I wanted from Tears of the Kingdom. The marketing team really ain't holding back from this one. They want us to know how great this new game really is.
I always personally saw the animal shown in Olimar’s family portrait as his dog. Doesn’t he say somewhere that he named the bulborbs after his dog because they looked like him? Or was that just a headcanon I heard? Either way, the whole dog thing opens the door for a lot of adorable fan art and that is what I’m about baby!!!
11:50 I'm gonna be seeing that tweet floating around a lot I feel :( I wasn't expecting Flamsey to tweet it out so fast since I was busy analyzing other parts of the trailer while throwing ideas back and forth with him on this. As for what the ships say the large one says HTCUGN that's it it doesn't actually spell any word While the little one only has the first 4 letters I'm assuming HTCU is the brand or name of whatever group they are/work for
Yeah, I was gonna mention this too. It's just a little frustrating that we'll be dealing with this misinfo for who knows how long, more so now that even bigger names are spreading it.
I dont think it's the end of the world or anything though, on the positive side. It'll probably be annoying for a little while but the game is coming out in only a few months and surely something like that will be squashed out before then. Just gotta ride it out I suppose
My initial reaction about the main setting in this trailer was: preschool. This looks like the backyard or fenced-in play area of some little preschool. There's colored blocks used as fencing around garden areas. There are wooden ride-on toys in the background as well as those painted tires for kids to climb on. And of course the toy binoculars. I think it's very fitting that Pikmin would potentially interact with children -- sort of like kids seeing fairies or elves in the woods, but parents not believing them. Also, the idea of small things interacting with full-size people reminds me of Chibi-Robo. I wonder if it we would ever see some kind of crossover or cameo of Chibi-Robo in Pikmin? Thanks for the trailer breakdown. It's super fun to geek out about every detail.
You pointing out the houses and toys and such gave me an interesting idea: what if all of the Hocotatians lived "backwards" in time? Like their forward history is progressing backwards from our point of view, and vice versa? Probably unlikely, but I'd love me a 1800s Renaissance Era Pikmin game or a different cultural region for Pikmin 5 🤔😆
I love these long reviews or analyses, and like you I grew up loving pikmin and the world. I can't wait, and I'm hoping there will be more to the gameplay then just camera shifting. I feel like they haven't shown much yet, I'm sure they will have more pikmin to
The new camera angle is actually PERFECT! Pikmin games have always had the weird top angle that didn’t really leave you the ability to see some enemies and made everything look less menacing and this trailer shows how much more menacing the creatures and adversities look, the disco like spider looks humongous and amazing and even the Empress Bulblax looks different in her own way, the world looks way more alive and detailed, everything overall looks more alive and the angle and details to the game just help remind you that you are as small as a tiny little ant, the environment looks outstanding and the trailer is filled with so much new things but a mod was created to have Pikmin 3 with the angle Pikmin 4 is showcasing and everything’s looks 3 times better and extremely functional from what we already have, I’m excited to the new world build this game will have.
I have a feeling that the night time gimmick is that we collect those bits while the bulborbs and other various enemies in the area hone in on your location in a frenzy state, kinda like the Plasm/Water Wraith.
My thoughts: When you talked about the house and how buildings are rare my mind went to, maybe this is a prequel? In pikmin 1 and in the subsequent games, no one can figure out why the pikmin react to the whistle. The gems, when the ships land (onion and pod) they are surrounded by gems. They seems to serve as some sort of landing markers. Since caves seem to be making some sort of return i wonder if gems serve as the currency to "fund" expeditions (to navigate the caves). Or as a way to unlock areas on the map since before you required ship parts or "maps". Since gems seem to be more frequent at night i think its the former. Fruits could also server as rations. It would be great if this is the first game where fruit+treasure respawn. Perhaps the area around the house will be so huge that creating our own landing pads will be important. Also calling this now, we go inside the house for the final battle. It could serve as a dungeon+final story boss.
For the night mode, I always imagined a base building survival mode. For example your spaceship can’t pick you up until the next day and during the day you need to gather resources and build a base. At night you survive waves of enemies. It doesn’t look like that’s what’s going on in the trailer but I’m still looking forward to trying it. Also it looks like according to the box art, we are just missing Rock Pikmin, I hope they are in somewhere, it would be cool if all past Pikmin types are in the game.
Please ignore the fact that I didn't see the rock and flying Pikmin on the full version of the box art and also hadn't yet learned how to pronounce "Oatchi" and talk about how cute ice Pikmin are, thank you

So you can probably change landing zones within the area.
god i hope that means breadbugs are returning! We haven't had proper breadbuggery since 2004!
Makes sense since breadbugs do share some relation to grubdogs, which were named since Olimar said that they looked like his dog.
It also looks quite a bit similar to a bulborb.
I hope that white, purple, rock and flying pikmin will be in the story mode and not just exclusive to an optional bonus mode like in pikmin 3.
I imagine there's another new type, and the rocks are interacting with it on the box art so they just hid the rocks until the new one is revealed and both will be added

You have a point, especially given that The Onion is seen with a blue section
That was a very good observation. I really think that you're right, which would definitely be very cool, but I'm trying to not get my hopes up. It would explain how there could still be so many playable pikmin types even without also adding ice Pikmin to the mix
Water and ice pikmin have totally different functions and could be use in conjunction. Freeze the top of water but take the blue pikmin underwater to avoid enmities in the water or
You totally glossed over the winged pikmin on the cover art! First time there has ever been 7 pikmin types! Super exciting
Rock Pikmin are in the art, too, to the right of Oatchi

I’m really liking the new onion design. Feels like a great mixture of the old classic design with the simple colors and the more organic appearance of 3’s design.
Also Oatchi definitely looks like a domesticated breadbug which is cool.
3's "organic" appearance.... right apparently glass shell's and rockets are organic now
Arlo, your channel brings me so much joy. Your excitement is contagious. Keep being you.

Now, with a new game on the horizon, I'm excited to see what NEW stories will be shown to us.

When Arlo says he could talk for hours about Pikmin if he let himself, I’ve always said I would absolutely let him. This is the kind of content that appeals to me.

(It's a really really good watch)

Though the last boss was a bitch to get no pikmin deaths 😅
Idk if 4 will be difficult though, judging by the trailer.
Thanks for this! I’d been wondering what they were going for with this name and how I should pronounce it lol
Orimā = Olimar
Rūi = Louie
Arufu = Alph
Buritonī = Brittany
Chārī = Charlie
The only real outlier is The President, who is named Shachō in Japanese.
@@alfo2804 Incidentally, Shachou is the Japanese word for President
23:53 another thing to note about this shot is that there is a light blue circle around the bulborb's health meter, meaning ice pikmin's freezing capabilities is passive, not from the bulborb eating them. Or a combination of both.
Also the bulborb seems to not be taking any damage until it's been frozen
you can see the meter spike once one of the ice pikmin are eaten, so it does seem to be a mix of both attacking and martyrdom
The best part of the last direct was opening it up to a pikmin trailer and thinking “Oh Arlo is going to go NUTS over this”
Those blank signs look like the ones you put in a garden to label the flora.
Im not even vested in Pikmin but with Arlo's enthusiasm and this thumbnail, you better believe I'm watching this whole video.
Looks very one of a kind so far and will make a fine birthday present for me when it releases in July.
i gots things:
1) it really looks like you are directly controlling oatchi when he carries that bulborb
2)I think we've seen duplicate treasures which seems like it would suggest an actual economic use for them
3) I really like arlo's catch with the red pikmin baking the wall beccause it makes a lot of sense with my prediction that ice pikmin are blue pikmin.
I could watch Arlo talk about Pikmin for 10 hours!! I love watching his videos that he obviously put so much passion into them.
If this trailer breakdown is any indication, the eventual Big Fat Review of Pikmin 4 will probably be about as long as the one for Breath of the Wild. So happy to see how excited you are about the game! I'm also thrilled that caves are coming back!
I love pikmin so much! I'm so excited to actually be experiencing the hype that the pikmin community is going through right now.
@Jack Wrath No, that's just your Bots speaking.
I love hearing Arlo talk about Pikmin
I'm so excited for this game to come out. The ice pikmin and Oatchi look like they're going to be a lot of fun and very helpful. And I can't wait to find out what the bulborb getting possessed was about. I know Arlo and I will have a blast with this.
Same. I can tell it's going to be my game of the year.
Arlo, I want you to know just how much i love every single one of your pikmin videos
Maybe that can discourage you from just bringing a big party of one type, like how you could steamroll most bosses in 2 with a handful of purples.
So, it's like the Antenna Beetle from 2 but for specific Pikmin then?
The fact in November we only got a teaser, I totally expected a 2024 delay. I was pleasantly surprised we got a solid release date.
THANKS FOR THE SHOUTOUT MAN! Just so everyone knows I also make Pikmin content and it's super Interesting... Did you know there are LOST PIKMIN GAMES?!! Anyway, thanks again!!!
Holy poop it's the guy from the video!

The REAL Flamsey?
Ayyy it's Flamsey!
@@ZoosheeStudio i have a feeling they upgrade through the crystals scattered around.
maybe they make-it so white is a evolution of yelow and purple is the evolution of red? or somth like that?
@@maneldazasanchez7719 that would be logical but not as fun as three new pikmin. Oh well guess we will see.
It is beyond fitting that Arlo posted an hour long video about Pikmin on Valentines Day and I’m so excited for him!
Arlo, I was mad that you took so long to upload this after seeing Zelda getting a vid a day after the direct, but seeing that 50 minute mark... it put a smile in my face and a tear rolled down my cheek. I knew you wouldn't disappoint and I'm glad I had patience. THANK YOUUU
The wait is over! I’ve been at the edge of my seat waiting for Arlo’s Pikmin 4 video!

Never have I been more happy for a total stranger than I am for Arlo rn. Love your content and you finally got what you been wanting. 😂👌
I've been waiting for this video for a couple of days now. I saw Arlo's reaction video on this part, and it was basically how I felt when it aired. Freaking finally the game is coming!
i have the idea that this may be an “open world” kinda Pikmin game. seeing the whole house and backyard like this makes me think that you can just walk around anywhere you want. the first area is by the gate with the bench, maybe the front yard leading up to the house? then there’s the backyard and even the house itself.
imagining being able to just walk wherever you want, going from one big area to the next by walking through the front door or going around to the back sounds fun~
you can start the day picking where to land and you can decide to walk between areas, even finding shortcuts to “teleport” or quick travel to different areas will give some real interesting time management gameplay
Rock pikmin are in too. There's a larger official photo which includes them in too
I have started playing the Pikmin games on my Steam Deck because of Arlo's infectious excitement for this game.
Pikmin, but Dark Souls
What a great time to be alive. I so enjoyed watching all this excitement. :)
Two things not mentioned in the video that I noticed while watching:
This is exactly what I needed right now, thanks blue guy!
The treasure at 6:24 looks like a castanet. I remember playing with the exact ones in elementary school haha! So hyped for this game, and watching this vid has made me even more so.
I actually thinks it’s a Yo-Yo.
there's also winged pikmin on the box art meaning we're getting 7 pikmin types, which is kinda insane
Try not to get too down about the rock and flying pikmin!! As someone who's only played one Pikmin game this was super insightful and as always very cathartic to watch! We appreciate all the hard work you put into finding so many details like the super Pikmin authority you are!
I really hope there will be an area inside the house. Would be so cool running through different rooms as a tiny person
Omg yes creating your own caves would be incredible, best way to pass the 20 year gap for the next title

I think Shepherd talking about Oatchi’s breed and the fact that he doesn’t need a helmet, plus the castaway mechanic gives me the idea that Hocotatians are coming to PNF-404 much more frequently and Oatchi is native to the planet!
Native?
So I only just got around to playing Pikmin 3 this week and I'm officially obsessed... Had to go back to all the Arlo videos to listen to your reviews with better context and also build my Pikmin 4 hype 🤩
At this rate the game review is gonna be 10 hours long, amazing
That is our Arlo. Really happy for u and all the Pikmin fans out there ^^
Props to Pikmin, this is the kind of full-blown gameplay trailer I wanted from Tears of the Kingdom. The marketing team really ain't holding back from this one. They want us to know how great this new game really is.
Don’t fool yourself Arlo. Every second of this video is ESSENTIAL and NECESSARY.
Respect to Kane for editing this and the last Pikmin thing 👏
I been waiting for you to make a long breakdown on Pikmin 4!!!
We need more Arlo in our lives.
True
Your love for Pikmin makes me want to play this one when I get the chance.
Thanks for the deep look bro. I get excited to see what Arlo thinks of this when I’m watching Nintendo directs lol
11:50 I'm gonna be seeing that tweet floating around a lot I feel :(
I wasn't expecting Flamsey to tweet it out so fast since I was busy analyzing other parts of the trailer while throwing ideas back and forth with him on this.
As for what the ships say the large one says HTCUGN that's it it doesn't actually spell any word
While the little one only has the first 4 letters
I'm assuming HTCU is the brand or name of whatever group they are/work for
Yeah, I was gonna mention this too.
Thank you Arlo! I could watch you talk about it for hours so this was great.
I’m so excited for Oatchi, he’s so so so cute and his powers look a lot more fun than just multiple captains
7:27 No longer a chance... it's a reality
I’m shocked Arlo was able to deduce that.
Great analysis! Hearing you talk about things you're so passionate is great (and why I loved the ArloCast back in the day).
Also oatchi is said to be, “quite the common breed” showing that they know what he is so that dog thing in olomar’s family could be another breed
My thoughts:
When you talked about the house and how buildings are rare my mind went to, maybe this is a prequel?
Arlo you inspire me to be my adhd self. You're so wonderfully creative and unique. Walt Disney for pikmin fans. I love it here.
Your love of Pikmin is contagious. I’m going to get this game to see what’s got you so enamored with them!
the castaways might genuinely be other "players" getting lost in their own self made caves that you have to rescue
