    I went into this wondering how in the world is someone going to go on for 14 minutes about Ears, wow you kept me watching till the end. I signed up for your Patreon and will be sending you a few bucks to support your great efforts in bringing Modular knowledge to so many of us. BTW, many blog/video publishers could learn from you on how much attention you give to answering people's comments here!

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  7 лет назад +2

      Hey, thanks for the comments and kind words. All much appreciated. I make a point to reply to everything and offer people the chance to talk. That's what I'd want from someone and if I can offer it (however much effort) I think it's worth it. Appreciate the Patreon support too. Glad I held your attention for 14 minutes on this one too haha! Fun patches were the key I think.

    These are a cool module, mine arrived this afternoon and have been having great fun using it with Rings!

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  8 лет назад

      equally great with Rings too. I like mixing up the left hand "non-rings" side of Elements too for varied inputs either impulses or audio.

    This is an insanely entertaining demo! The toothbrush was genius! I really wish there were a way to get the guitar to track and affect the pitch of the Elements as well. The 1U tiles in that rack all look amazing btw.

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  8 лет назад +3

      Really a bit advocate of the 1U tile format. These from Pulp Logic and Tsyklon Labs have been awesome so far. Toothbrush I have to say was a request and not my own idea. Still, I'll take the credit haha. The Expert Sleepers Disting has a mode that tracks pitch and gives you a CV of it. Using band pass filters on your input helps to get more accuracy out of things like that.

    • @StevenMorris
      @StevenMorris 8 лет назад +2

      DivKidVideo Indeed-- BPF works well for semi-decent tracking of guitar w/ a clock divider. Thank you for the 1U recommendations-- I'm going to be taking a closer look at them. I've always been a bit trepidatious of getting into ES stuff simply because settings and stuff seem to depend heavily on a computer. I'm sure there are set-and-forget things about it... hopefully someday I'll have the time & motivation to take advantage of their gear though because they sound like they can solve a lot of problems!

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  8 лет назад +1

      The Disting doesn't need a computer. It's not like the ES-3 AT ALL.

    • @StevenMorris
      @StevenMorris 8 лет назад +1

      DivKidVideo That is great to know-- going to look into that module. Seems like it would be a useful addition. I like how small it is!

    Question: does the Ears pickup the actual acoustic sounds made while operating the synth? I saw a demo of the Mikrophonie that made it appears as if it picked up switches being flipped, knobs being turned, etc. In THAT video, the demonstrator even placed a radio against the side of the case and the Mikrophonie picked it up (albeit somewhat muffled in sound). Does the Ears do all that?

    • @mastermargherita
      @mastermargherita 7 лет назад +1

      i have just tested this ,
      the Ears do not pick up ambiance sounds even with max gain ,
      if the panel vibrate it will give something ,
      with a UGE bass on stage it could pickup interesting vibrations to use as a cv source,
      in my studio i do not play loud enough i can not tell,
      but
      anything in contact with the Ears plate will give a reaction to the follower/gate ,
      DIY an EAR in contact with a mini speakers ??

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  7 лет назад +1

      Ears seems far better "protected" with a better pre amp if that makes sense. Tapping the case and banging over panels and things can still work though with high enough gain. The Mikrophonie I think was a bit too "open" for live stuff as some friends reported it was firing things off unintentional when used live.

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  8 лет назад

      Hey William, I did rinse it haha. However not good enough before hand there was a bit of water/toothpaste that came off in the video if you look carefully.

    Great uses, thanks.. I was also hoping to hear brief details on the case and 1u modules used, brand? I haven’t seen many. Ideas with small systems from you... I’d love to see more.

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  6 лет назад

      Videos on systems could be good I have a lot of notes on that for video plans. But I just don't have time to do it. Need to raise income (Patreon) etc and leave other jobs to be able to do more varied content on top of what I currently do. The case is here though - ruclips.net/video/DYTeuF-nNYw/видео.html

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  8 лет назад

      great point RE guitar players and pedal set ups. Never though of it like that. I tend to patch from left to right, yet I've toured and gigged extensively with pedal boards set right to left. How odd!

    I once left a comment wondering if you could give some information on the Trace module. Obviously, being older and quite arcane it would not make sense given your presentation model. Fast forward a couple of years and I see you once had it in a case here. Wondering if you could meet me in the middle...Do the extra couple of logic panels have any use? I have the extra panels but can see no actual use for them in modular! Happy New Year 2021.

    • @MichaelDowComposer
      @MichaelDowComposer 5 лет назад +2

      Yeah for sure! Just invert it and scale it with something like Circuit Abbey INVY or a 4ms SISM, and to a VCA and you're good to get some ducking/sidechain compression techniques

    hi Kid :)

    sound quiet good when it saturate ...
    cheers ;)

    • @DivKid

      Thonk has it exclusively so it's through them only. The first batch (which wasn't small) flew out. So you'll have to wait for batch two.

      DivKidVideo thank you,i've seen it,
      very good video,btw!
      wanted just to know if u have some settings that u prefer over all!always to screw the module out and change it;kinda stupid!
      should be possible to make an "break out module" with 3 switches,with 3 postions for that!
      but dunno how that would work exactly!

    • @DivKid
      @DivKid  7 лет назад +1

      There's a LADIK module that connects to jumpers and gives you switches to control jumper settings on other modules. That's a great idea.
