Being OCD myself, I know the hell NF lives with. I hate when the illness is misconstrued. It’s unwanted intrusive thoughts that stay with you for life. There is no cure for it. It’s an every day struggle. NF is the most inspiring artist that I’ve ever listened too. It hits home.

It was an honor to be part of that video. I was the lucky one wo pushed him in the buggy. NF is awesome on so many levels. The videos are metaphors for what's in his mind. He feels it's a mess and he sees others better off than him. And when I tell you that he is involved in EVERY aspect of his videos shoots, I mean he is involved in ALL of it, which made me respect him even more as an artist. Keep up the great reactions!

It's amazing how you've been able to gravitate to him, in a time of need. I know you were dealing with some things a bit ago and then it seems NF is helping. He helped me when my daughter passed away at ten months old back in 2015, some really rough times. I took to the gym, music and keeping my mind busy as well. A lot of NF for a couple of years. Gave up drinking alcohol for 7 years too, just knew it was a bad mix with depression and addiction running in my family.
Is he telling the voices and doubts in his head to be quiet, quiet, quiet… leave me alone? In hope he is wearing the white clothes and when standing on the hilltop the black doubt comes back in and the painted face is trying to fight back out until he tells the doubt he’s taking the reigns. His journey is healing and something we call all relate to. Truly a gift to all of us and the journey is a wild ride.

So I just started seeing this new woman, and she got me onto nf hard. She loves talking about how the words are amazing and profound, and I completely agree, but to me it's his visuals. One of the craziest visuals I've seen in an nf video so far is when he's talking to the kids and they all just point at his balloons in unison. Like how everyone jumps at the chance to always point out your flaws and burdens.
Nate always seems to figure out a way to put into words the thoughts and feelings that I never could. That's what makes him feel like a friend to me, someone who gets me. He is a lyrical magician and master!

I don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but your most memorable line/bar in this song has always presented itself to me as an internally sustained form of "Stockholm Syndrome" because of it's overwhelming sense of familiarity and seeming normalcy. Couple that with social anxiety and OCD, plus bereavement, abuse, abandonment, and genius, and you have a helluva deep hole to claw your way to the top of. Much less getting to this height of celebrity, when all you really want is to be better and be at peace. This is highlighted even more as Nate continues to "personify" his emotions (negative and positive) along this musical journey that he is constantly crafting as an outlet as well as bridge to and for others.

Great job on the breakdown. Love your authentic reactions. I'll offer my perspective on some of the symbolism, for what its worth. NF always has callbacks to other tracks. People in black have no Hope. So they finally get Hope, drop the dark and dress in white. Both still carry burdens... Noone lives life with no burdens. NF mentions Fame back in his No Name track. Those that finally have Hope no longer have to keep painting on a fake smile. Lastly, as NF is Christian, we are taught in the Bible to surrender your burdens to God. The final scene is a hand accepting burdens which represents God. NF's hesitation and looking back is our concern about how people may perceive us. Again, my point of view. Love your energy. The balloons are so damn powerful to me. Once you've been depressed for awhile, it's scary to think about how life would be without it. You'd rather just hold on to it because it's become comfortable. It's easier to hold on to the balloons and hide behind them instead of going into uncharted waters that scare you.
The theme park represents Nate's music and the people in white are people that find comfort and a bit of healing from it. All the while Nate is looking and not finding his own healing till he begins to let go at the end.
What struck me about NF is that he was able to describe states of mind and emotions that I’ve always had, and felt, but couldn’t except and deal with because I couldn’t name them. He has helped me a lot to deal with myself and become a more complete person and he’s done it mainly just by talking about his issues. But what he did in doing that was give me the words so that I could deal with mine.

I'm from Chile, where Spanish is our mother language. I've the ability to learn other languages English is one of them. Was listening to Tidal recommendations from other rapper, kind of different from NF, the first song i listened from NF was Hope, launched this year and I've been gone through bunch of his videos and lyrics and shit hits hard, not in a bad way but enough to drop some tears. We can realize many things, one of them: doesn't matter where are you from, language you speak or prefer, personalities or tastes, we as human beings go and live through the same. I've been watching your videos for over 2 years or so, never subscribed don't know why tbh, but beyond how beautiful and skilled you're, your eyes on this video hits different :).
This is life and literally the best song on the search. This is only opinionated tho. As long as your still going down the journey of NF, Alieen, I recommend reacting to "WHY" next, it makes more sense leading to HOPE despite being released in 2018 whenever The Search was released a year later. The smiley faces are the fake smiles depressed people wear to keep people from asking them if they are okay. The black clothes are the depression. The people going in wearing black, coming out in white, are receiving medical treatment. Nate rejects medicine because of his mother's addiction. So, Nate's therapy is his music. His clothes are dark gray, but not black. If you continue through his career his clothes get gradually lighter until most recently with Hope his clothes were very light gray.

im 36 m who rolled the shitty situation in life......at age 14 i got to learn the families only real dirty secert that was never talked about before i asked my aunt which she didnt wanna tell me because she knew i would worry for multiple reasons which i did it destoryed me but at the same time it helped me understand it and prepare. my mom had schizophrenia(mom left at like 5-6 and came back at 13 which i saw her 4 times in that period) but the reall thing was nearly every single perosn on my moms side of the family that goes through my grandmas generation had mental health problems but said it in lesser words and find out how deep it was later in life. clinical depression ran through everyone but later it was fouind out that my grandma a lil before she died she had bi polar disorder which earlier in her life is was called manic/major depression disorder......my great aunt had given birth to 4 kids......all 4 of them have down syndrome and 1 was blind also and 2 generations through the same tree made me fear that my kld could have any of these. my moms dad who abondoned them had schizophrenia i learned later and its kinda crazy that ive gotten lucky enough for that not to be triggered. also autoimmune disorder that gives hypothyroidism which went undiagnosised until my late 20's which means i went like at laeast 5 years with not knowing which sped up my body and it caused my bi polar to become more present and my anxiety went through the fucking rough i would literally here 6-7 voices at a single time attacking me randomly for up to half an hour or when i was under any stress what so ever that caused me to quit my job to get help in another state where i had insurance. this is just the partial situation how did i prepare myself for this well i started reading about psychology online at age 14, i read mostly about the current issues at hand but reading them and feeling them are 2 different things that its hard to discribe at least from back then when there was only so much info back then but i didnt stop for 20+ yeares as life grew and i grew. 15 i nearly killed myself after a mental breakdown from what was depression before the bi polar triggered in my life as bi polar doesnt usually bloom until your 20-30's at that time. i had no one to talk to about it because i didnt know what i was actually feeling. friend called to cops because she was scared and was going to kill myself after my dad went to bed but the cops rolled into house while my dad was rolling a joint which was one of the dick cops in our town(there ws like 3-4 cops that were striaght up assholes and the rest were super chill) and made him throw it out after they told my dad and i came out as i was laying in bed and have to go to the pysch hospital and had 2 options if i tell them my whole life story and how it got here and that im no longer a harm to myself or be held for 2-3 days which sounded like hell.....i spent 7 hours talking to the lady without my dad in the room for most of it. the next day at school was the worst dayn of school in my life.....i loved here the joke everoyne passed around was hey if u ever plan to shoot up the school tell me the day before so i will stay home sick. i was the wild guy who was funny to the mnetally ill perosn which changed how most people talked to me outside my closest friends. i was a different person from that next day on as it was like my childhood was destroyed and changed how i looked at friends. now im a 36 m who will never have a semi normal life for the rest of my life, i cant work a normal job and i cant live without a close friend or family member for my safety, will not have a kid for personal and genetic reasons. i will never get married most likely, me an my ex gf who were still friends and had deep feelings for each other that never went away on either side but she didnt live close to me at any point from there.......we both made a deal if were both not married at 30 we would get married and agreed but found hour she died at 26 ......im guessing she commited suicide as i talked her out of killing her self 2 other times. 1 was a literal cold call after not talking for about 3 years other was after a time in life she hated herself and everything she did.
They’re actually getting the smoky faces taken off. So they’re starting the healing process while he’s still wearing black and grey and still carrying his balloons but at the same time his black painted smile is starting to disappear.
When NF is wearing black he is representing fear walking thru Nate’s head, so here you see the good thoughts turning bad and bad thoughts turning good, but all have burdens. Fear is starting to get annoyed because he knows HOPE is coming

Was listening to Tidal recommendations from other rapper, kind of different from NF, the first song i listened from NF was Hope, launched this year and I've been gone through bunch of his videos and lyrics and shit hits hard, not in a bad way but enough to drop some tears.
We can realize many things, one of them: doesn't matter where are you from, language you speak or prefer, personalities or tastes, we as human beings go and live through the same.
I've been watching your videos for over 2 years or so, never subscribed don't know why tbh, but beyond how beautiful and skilled you're, your eyes on this video hits different :).
Imagine this song in concert, sold out show like 10k or more people, all screaming "QUITE QUITE QUITE LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
This is life and literally the best song on the search. This is only opinionated tho. As long as your still going down the journey of NF, Alieen, I recommend reacting to "WHY" next, it makes more sense leading to HOPE despite being released in 2018 whenever The Search was released a year later. PLEASE, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. 🙏
The flow and rhyme scheme at the end before the last chorus is my favourite part, it's awesome. Caps off well a great song in general

The smiley faces are the fake smiles depressed people wear to keep people from asking them if they are okay.
The black clothes are the depression. The people going in wearing black, coming out in white, are receiving medical treatment. Nate rejects medicine because of his mother's addiction. So, Nate's therapy is his music. His clothes are dark gray, but not black. If you continue through his career his clothes get gradually lighter until most recently with Hope his clothes were very light gray.

im 36 m who rolled the shitty situation in life......at age 14 i got to learn the families only real dirty secert that was never talked about before i asked my aunt which she didnt wanna tell me because she knew i would worry for multiple reasons which i did it destoryed me but at the same time it helped me understand it and prepare. my mom had schizophrenia(mom left at like 5-6 and came back at 13 which i saw her 4 times in that period) but the reall thing was nearly every single perosn on my moms side of the family that goes through my grandmas generation had mental health problems but said it in lesser words and find out how deep it was later in life. clinical depression ran through everyone but later it was fouind out that my grandma a lil before she died she had bi polar disorder which earlier in her life is was called manic/major depression disorder......my great aunt had given birth to 4 kids......all 4 of them have down syndrome and 1 was blind also and 2 generations through the same tree made me fear that my kld could have any of these. my moms dad who abondoned them had schizophrenia i learned later and its kinda crazy that ive gotten lucky enough for that not to be triggered. also autoimmune disorder that gives hypothyroidism which went undiagnosised until my late 20's which means i went like at laeast 5 years with not knowing which sped up my body and it caused my bi polar to become more present and my anxiety went through the fucking rough i would literally here 6-7 voices at a single time attacking me randomly for up to half an hour or when i was under any stress what so ever that caused me to quit my job to get help in another state where i had insurance. this is just the partial situation
how did i prepare myself for this well i started reading about psychology online at age 14, i read mostly about the current issues at hand but reading them and feeling them are 2 different things that its hard to discribe at least from back then when there was only so much info back then but i didnt stop for 20+ yeares as life grew and i grew. 15 i nearly killed myself after a mental breakdown from what was depression before the bi polar triggered in my life as bi polar doesnt usually bloom until your 20-30's at that time. i had no one to talk to about it because i didnt know what i was actually feeling. friend called to cops because she was scared and was going to kill myself after my dad went to bed but the cops rolled into house while my dad was rolling a joint which was one of the dick cops in our town(there ws like 3-4 cops that were striaght up assholes and the rest were super chill) and made him throw it out after they told my dad and i came out as i was laying in bed and have to go to the pysch hospital and had 2 options if i tell them my whole life story and how it got here and that im no longer a harm to myself or be held for 2-3 days which sounded like hell.....i spent 7 hours talking to the lady without my dad in the room for most of it. the next day at school was the worst dayn of school in my life.....i loved here the joke everoyne passed around was hey if u ever plan to shoot up the school tell me the day before so i will stay home sick. i was the wild guy who was funny to the mnetally ill perosn which changed how most people talked to me outside my closest friends. i was a different person from that next day on as it was like my childhood was destroyed and changed how i looked at friends. now im a 36 m who will never have a semi normal life for the rest of my life, i cant work a normal job and i cant live without a close friend or family member for my safety, will not have a kid for personal and genetic reasons. i will never get married most likely, me an my ex gf who were still friends and had deep feelings for each other that never went away on either side but she didnt live close to me at any point from there.......we both made a deal if were both not married at 30 we would get married and agreed but found hour she died at 26 ......im guessing she commited suicide as i talked her out of killing her self 2 other times. 1 was a literal cold call after not talking for about 3 years other was after a time in life she hated herself and everything she did.

When NF is wearing black he is representing fear walking thru Nate’s head, so here you see the good thoughts turning bad and bad thoughts turning good, but all have burdens. Fear is starting to get annoyed because he knows HOPE is coming
