In my case, I was doing Doors with my oldest son. For years he had been trying to beat Door 100 and failed to Figure several times. His only teammate was his brother, my youngest son. Recently, my oldest asked me to help him beat Door 100. So, I studied the game to the point that I beat Rock Bottom, A-1000, and Hotel Hell all within a few days of each other. I felt that I was then capable of helping him beat Door 100. Figure has been his nemesis and I wanted him to finally defeat it. The story goes like this... We made it to Door 100, and a few tips I learned along the way I shared with my son. I advised him to hide in a closet, designated which closet, and told him that Hide does not exist in Door 100. So, after the cutscene, run directly to the closet and stay there as long as you need to avoid Figure. Wait for him to eventually leave and then start collecting circuits. Do not enter rooms and stay in them. Figure can trap you. Navigate hallways and only enter rooms if you see Guiding Light. Otherwise, stay out of rooms and Figure won't be able to trap you. Little did I know that once we pulled the lever we were to complete the challenge alone, solo. My son's character faded away after the custcene, I immediately used the alarm clock, a vitamin, and ran off to the closet in which I designated him, entered, and tried to understand what had just happened. My son asked me "Did you die?" and I told him "No." It was at this moment I realized he had done exactly what I had coached him to do. He ran directly for the closet. So, I took the time to gather all of the circuits and reach the box. I remembered to remind him "The key to the door is upstairs just by the elevator you will escape in." I started the circuit box and completed 2/3 of the powering stages. I waited for my son to tell me he had either died or succeeded. However, often, losing to Figure hurt him and he wouldn't want to speak. He'd go play something else; Rocket League. I waited hoping to get a message that he had beaten Door 100 for several minutes while listening to the upbeat, hopeful, heroic music as it were. Over time I began to become more worried. There was no way of knowing if he had lost. Typically, in the days prior to my studying I would try playing with him and when he died I would immediately leave the game, not wait to die, to, again, immediately try again. No way of knowing, I just listened to the music and continued waiting with hope. Strangely, the cutscene initiated of Figure breaking down the store. I had a suspicion that the timer on the Elevator's Circuit Box may have expired and it was the start of the death sequence. The cutscene ends briefly and I turn to see my son's character was before me. He had succeeded! Without hesitation we both charged up the through the door, up the stairs, and to the elevator. I looked back for a brief moment just to ensure he was with me and did not mess up. (The following day my youngest son asked me to complete it with him and I looked back several times to see he kept getting caught on things while we were running. It was silly cute.) Anyway, a few things I learned during the challenge and about my son. If I had completed the box on my own, it would have forwarded him through the challenge and he would not have completed the challenge alone. Thus, not only did he finally beat Door 100 and Figure, but he did so on is own accord exercising patience, strategy, and focus and in the end we unexpectedly escaped together. As a father it was a truly remarkable and wonderful experience to behold. The time that passed while listening to this music made me appreciate the moment even more. So, I made this video for myself as a milestone to look back on a moment that my son was triumphant. That is why I made this. My son was victorious.
