Why are not enough videos in this channel! I loved your videos!!!
Thanks! Have been working on more, just been a little busy lately, stay tuned!
I agree! We need more videos! I love them very informative.
this little tutorial was super helpful, never really messed with the settings now you have me going through all of them! Thanks a ton
I'm still learning new ways to draw in it myself!
The best 8 minutes I spent on RUclips recently.thanks a lot,
I wish there were more videos on your channel! They're really helpful. I would love to see how you scale a drawing for printing layer, as I found this task really confusing.
I'll cover this in a future video (sometime in the very near future!). If you give me an example of an actual drawing or scale you're working on, I can focus on that as one of the examples in my video
@@DigSketch Sounds great! My professors are asking to deliver 1:100 drawings on A2 paper. I don't know if that's a good example for the video though.
Please do share more! Your channel is a rare gem!
thanks! have been swamped at work these past few months, hoping to do more videos soon!
Just found your video this morning. Hope you come back sometime. Your work is great and your tips are fantastic for those like me trying to jump into Procreate.
Thanks! Yes trying to find the time to do more
More content please! You've been very helpful.
Roger, that awesome, videos!
Explanations are very good so please please please more content for Architects and Engineers. Functional Art.
Procreate is the most loving app when I draw architectural sketches !! :) love your video too!
Excellent video. More please! Your explanation, pace, video style are all excellent. Keep going!
Thanks! Have started a couple more videos, just trying to find time to finish them!
@@DigSketch haha, don't kid me, all you have is time these days! :)
Could you do a video on perspective and setting the horizon line? Thanks great video.
Yes! will add that to my list. Procreate has a great perspective assist feature. However, most of my perspectives now are traced over a massing model, as I just dont have the time to draw perspectives from scratch anymore...
We love what you do and please post more videos please we beg of you
I'm working on some new ones, been super busy lately with my day job though!
This is so useful for archi students. Please make more videos.
Awesome. Thank you for showing us an intuative way to use Procreate!!
You can directly try your brush in the preview above the settings
yes! totally forgot about that
Thanks to Gods that I have found you channel!
Thanks! Working on more videos now
Oh thank you! I discovered you too late! I started a French channel to show how to draw perspectives and sketch on iPad with procreate! Keep going you are awesome! 🙏🏻✌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
i hope you could do more video like this... thanks men!
Thank You!! Long time trying to find sb who is from the Architect area and explain Ipad Tools
Happy to help!
Excelent!
I hope this channel is still alive. I’ve just discovered Procreate and your 2 tutorials are exactly what I was looking for. I use it as an online teaching tool (Electrical studies) and in my other sketching app, I use a black background with white or pale colors for the content. Can I set up Procreate with a black/dark gray background?
You can fill a layer with black and draw on another on top of it with white.
that's what I was gonna say!
Excellent drawing lessons & ideas.
very enjoyable...thanks
Would you mind sharing your pen settings, etc.? I love what you're doing! Every architect should learn this.
sure, shoot me an email
colnagoboy@gmail.com
DigSketch can you also send me as well? Thanks for much! ysh8an@gmail.com
hey did he get back to you ?
Please upload more content, it's been great so far
A year has passed and still waiting :(
Great Video! I hope you post more new videos. Would you mind sharing your pen settings? It would really help me alot. Keep up the good work DigSketch.
I'm working on creating a brush set for Procreate, keep an eye out for it
Good video! Could you do another video working with Pixelmator Pro or Classic - they're less confusing to use than Procreate, and your approach is straight forward - I appreciate that.
Can we move the quick menu to the right side of the screen? for Left handers?
yeah go to Preferences and uncheck Right-hand interface. You can also reposition it up and down, just need to start your finger off of the ipad screen and drag in, right around the center of the quick menu, then drag it up/down
How does your Eraser get smaller/bigger according to the Pencil pressure? I couldn't find which Setting is responsible for achieving this...
Use the Studio Pen under Inking. Adjust the max/min sizes within that brush's settings under General/Size Limits
great video thanks!
Glad you liked it!
What’s your take between Procreate and Morpholio trace?
Working on a video specifically on this subject as we speak! But the short answer is I use both, for different things. Procreate more than Morpholio.
Your videos are really inspiring!! Would be great to see more of them)
More to come!
@@DigSketch when ? Please make some new vids. Do you have any other social media sites or blogs
Want to bay skecking pad whichever is best for me as students architect
There are some cheaper alternatives to Wacom out there, you need to do your homework on that though. Maybe look into XP Pen
if you make a floor plan does procrate have a scale? where you can scale the floor plan?
no procreate does not have an inherent scale. I set up my own grid, and actually create my own measuring scale on a separate layer. Thanks for asking though, this is a good point I should cover in a future video!
Thank you! That was really helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank You very much for your teaching, I appreciate .
You are very welcome
thanks for sharing, still waiting for the new video.
Coming soon!
look forward to new content
Please do more videos
I can only find Procreate Pocket, is it the same?
thats the reduced version of Procreate, I think thats just for the iphone. You gotta dig deeper!
October 2021 and apparently Procreate has changed many of these commands to where now I can’t follow the video. Also I found it to go too fast.
The Wacom Cintiq cost $700, is there anything out that's cheaper for beginners
You know XP-Pen has reached out to me, they seem to be better priced than Wacom. Soon as I can get my channel going again I may try one of their tablets out.
Is the page size unlimited/ meaning can I sketch the floor plan of a large building?
You set the page size before you go into drawing. The bigger the page, the less layers you can have so it makes it a little difficult to do large drawings if you have an older iPad. 2018 model and up have good enough specs where this isn't an issue. I draw on A2 mainly.
Yes, I cover this briefly in the next video I'm working on right now. But I typically stick to A2 and A3
Good Tuts, can you do the same for Photoshop
Which iPad is it
1st Gen iPad Pro
this is an kind of an architects question, but I'm a gamer (recently got into a very pop and addicting game and I'm sure that everyone's heard of it,) it's SIms4 I actually happen to come across a reddit page specifically for this game. Anyways, besides the point, they host challenges bi weekly and it's for making/creating houses each week was a theme. I thought it would be a good idea for me to set and layout everything visually before I go in and start just messing around w things considering I learn best by doing things visually. I was going to use what I have and I have an iPad and the Procreate app along w the apple pencil. I was wondering since this is somewhat kind of like architectural work w building houses and whatnot, is it necessary to have different size pens, or does it just help when trying to access things and having a better workflow? I do like the idea of it, but the one thing I'm trying to wrap my head around is when I set the duplicate pens to different sizes, from what I'm seeing the sizes look very similar towards each other so idk if I'm setting the size difference between all of them too small or if there's something else I'm missing. MAIN QUESTION: is size difference really necessary for my needs and what I'm trying to accomplish, and if it actually turns out it does help a lot what am I doing wrong so I can see the size difference change?
Hmm well first off, congratulations on writing the longest question I've ever read! When you duplicate a brush, and you go into the Brush Editor (Brush Studio), go to Properties and under Brush Behavior play around the sliders for Maximum and Minimum size. This will help vary your brush sizes. And having different weights to lines is absolutely critical for architectural sketching. But for what you've described above, I think it just comes down to your personal preference. When in doubt, just keep things simple.
@@DigSketch I was thinking the same thing. I had a feeling everything you said in the vid would apply in my situation. Also yes I tend to type questions in a lot of detail so people don't get confused or left w questions after I type mine out lol.
Can i do the same work with ipad 7th generation 2019 ?
I think so. The iPad I had used in this video was the 1st generation iPad pro from 2015. I recently updated to a new one though
hi would you mind sharing your pen settings with me? it would help me out a ton
sure no problem, shoot me an email and I'll send them to you
The apps I seem to be for artists. Which Procreate app is best for architectural drawings?
it depends on what kind of drawing you're doing. I create design progress drawings, daily markups in ProCreate, my team takes my sketches into Revit for milestone submissions
Thank you!
How do you get a grid template at the intro?
Oh I made that. Will try to set something up so people can just download my various templates. Stay tuned!
what is a good size of ipad pro to buy?
it really depends on the type of drawings you do and your own personal preference. I prefer the larger one for the type of work I do.
I’m an interior designer but want to get a pro for similar use. Your videos are really helpful! Which size storage do you have for the pro?
I have the 128GB model, its a couple years old but I seem to be doing ok with it so far. I'm considering get a new one though as my battery life is juts terrible now, I basically need to keep it plugged in while I'm working on it. If I do get one, then I'd probably go with the 1TB now
I loved this video. Great tips! I've got to say one thing, though: it's "orthogonal", not "orthagonal".
Don't you know architects are allowed to make up their own words :)
Karen
Nice
your ipad. how many inches?
its the big one
What kind of pen are you using? thanks for the video
You mean the Apple Pencil?
I'll share more of my pen settings in an upcoming video!
0:24 this is not working
Are you referring to the Quick Menu button? You need to set that up! Skip ahead to 02:38 in the same video and it pretty much explains how to do it
Which is this apppp
Procreate
thanks a lot !
You're welcome!
What is apps?
I use Procreate mostly. Occasionally use Morpholio Trace.
Love your channel! Can i follow you on Instagram? Need to look at your incredible illustrations for inspiration. I'm an Architecture student myself
sure! find me at #DigSketch
What iPad are you using?
12.9" iPad pro, 128GB storage, I think its Gen 1, cant quite remember. Its a few years old though, may be time to get the new one
Procreate or Morpholio?
I actually use both, for different things. I've started working on a video specifically on this subject, hope to wrap it up soon, just been too busy lately
@@DigSketch keen to see more how to videos. Especially step by step
@@erikleypoldt8275 for sure! coming soon, if you saw anything in particular you want me to focus on next, let me know! Otherwise right now I'm working on a Morpholio Trace overview, and an illustrated site plan example video

What name the apps.?
I use Procreate for general design/ sketching on a daily basis. And occasionally will use Morpholio Trace for specific tasks
