awesome usable stuff.. in playing over ii/v changes i have often found it useful to "ignore the v" OR "ignore the ii" particularly over fast swing... your ear hears what it needs to using either approach.. trying to cram a ii/v progression often leads to clutter or frustration of trying to do too much in a short time.. you can get a lot of mileage out of implying what you are doing, rather than bashing people over their head with it.. subtlety works.. CC was a master of it and when you prune the tree of jazz guitar back to it's trunk, that is who you have right there...
Man, this is so great! Seriously, you rock as a teacher, musician and probably, as a guy. I'm gonna stop harvesting your hard earned and hard learned knowledge for free and give you some dough!
Yes, Dropbox recently ended Showcase and I've been working to get everything reposted in a more accessible (read: accessible at all) location. If you drop me a line through www.fretboardconfidential.com I can get the PDFs to you in the meantime!
It's a Gibson ES-390. Smaller than a 335, and hollow like a 330, with mini-humbuckers, which apparently they only did for a year or two - most of the others I've seen have P-90s instead.
Hi David, could you check if the link above is sending messages out ? I signed up a couple of times, opened and closed my Gmail a couple of times, but haven't seen any confirmation email.
Well David that's strange cause I went out of RUclips to your website and then subscribed there. That gave me a confirmation email which I'm about to activate.@@FretboardConfidential
So I've confirmed a few hours ago, just wondering where the link to Digression is on the FC page so I can see the tab to this video ? BTW I have your Truefire @truefire.com/search/?q=hamburger 50 Jazz Blues Licks but would love one on this era of playing. Thanks for putting all this stuff together David !

This channel is a fantastic resource! Thank you
It's like being back in your Jazz for the Blues Player class in Connecticut, except I'm not sweating my ass off because there is no A/C. Great lesson.
Yes, those classrooms could get pretty hot! Great to see you here, in the cool, A/C comfort of the internet :-).
Loving this lesson, as always.Thanks!
Great lesson
Great instruction and playing. Filing this away to work on down the road
Awesome insight! Very helpful.
Great stuff David. I love your lesson. Have learned a lot of licks from you.
Great lesson. Thanks. Is that at ES 335 or 339 ?
Hi. When you play over the 4th and 5th in the progression do you change the tonic of the swing scale or keep it on F. Cheers Steve
Great lesson David but seems like Dropbox showcase is now down so I can’t view your PDFs.

Oh no! Let me check on that right away.
You should indeed have a confirmation message waiting for you - have you made sure there's nothing in your junk/spam folders?
