So I didn't intend to time it out this way, but the game actually just released into early access today! It looks like two chapters of the story will be available, with a total of seven islands to colonize, and more to follow as development continues. Same link in the description will take you to the store page!
The carving system seems fun, but i always found that systems like this become more tedious the longer you play, especially when you know you can just look at a guide. Mixing some randomness, risk and automatization could be a good idea.
It'd be neat if there's more campaigns in this game surrounding the other Old Gods in the Lovecraft Mythos, like building up the town of Innsmouth and creating the cult of Dagon.
dagon and the King in yellow are included... just finished chatpter one wont spoil because this game is very story heavy but be assured thery are all kinds of old gods and unspeakable horror
This looks pretty cool as a game concept. I guess I will wait for some more updates to the game, but i would absolutely love to see a series of this game on your Channel!
Honestly, the whole cutting thing I feel wouldn't be all that bad if there weren't the grunts of pain that accompanied the cutting. For whatever reason, that tips it from "fantasy violence I can gloss over" to "this feels a little disconcerting".
That's actually the moment I committed to the game. Not a lot of games have the balls to do that. I've also seen more than enough horror to not get squeamish over this. This is the kind of vibe I'm looking for. If you're going to be a horror cult game, be a horror cult game.
so genocide and max suffering for spreading is fine but graving symbols is to much....... at least the priorities are right ^^..... so to clearify iam pretty sure 95% of the people who has a problem with the craving did much wores in other games but they didnt bother because it was not as visual as here
Sweet I was hoping P was going to do this I asked him in comments, doubt he read it just saw the game, What's his name and that other guy did it so I knew P would make a great demon worshipper :O And we all know he likes city building and resource gathering, throw in a little praying to those that should remain nameless. Well imagine P sprouting tentacles.
@ExplainersEnigma My usual go to when It came to Lovecraft And City building was modding games like rimworld and Surviving Mars. But seeing one fleshed out makes me giddy with excitement.
i love it when a game uses very basic wording but youtubers are like toddlers who dont know anything so they always respond "hur dur what does dismiss mean?"
The Black Goat of the Woods. The Goat with a Thousand Young. All-Mother. Mother Goddess. Lord of the Woods. The Mighty Mother. Shupnikkurat. Quake. Let thy youngs young be are god. ``prayer to Shub-Niggurath´´
His writing contains more than a few racist depictions of various people. He seemed to lean into white superiority, often depicting native americans and black people as savages.
Not squeamish, do think the game could do with more subtlety rather than just IN YOUR FACE BLUGEH! but whatcha gonna do i suppose. But it has potencial.
@@Lord-Inquisitor-Davies By subtlety i mean the huge bird thing flying into your face or Cthulhu's tentacles bursting outta hole infact even the pit with a huge face of Cthulhu is too much. Something that better represents the lore is what id prefer and honestly Cults should be subtle those that aren't get torn down, plus the horror aspect is lost when everything is in your face so it needs to be handled with finesse.
I disagree with you, why? Look at Warhammer 40k, Chaos Cults **LITERALLY** aren't subtle, And if you have a problem with how cults operate, then you really don't understand that cults will eventually be tracked down, It takes time but by then it'd be too late unless you have an anonymous tip-off.
@@SimmerGaming-eb2ms The Cthulhu Mythos is not 40k, if you have ever read the books you will notice there are several were you never even see the monster and very little is IN YOUR FACE. Also I am quite aware of how cults work within the Cthulhu Mythos, while they stand out its because their members are off putting, they make you feel like your constantly watched, an outsider, in danger, they smell off, some look strangely or have odd if still normal esque clothes. Now for real life, my guy cults have been a thing for as long as man and the successful ones were either never discovered or became powerful enough they could act as a suto-religion. such as many documented cases in Japan, the US or hell going back to the old Dualistic cults of the 12th century like the Cathar Heresy and other such Gnostic Faiths. So i feel like, i'm fairly well versed in cults. Loud and proud may work for 40k but thats not Cthulhu which was my larger point, i would like it to better reflect the Mythos more. Think Shadows over Innsmouth, a very gradual and subtle kind of unease of something being wrong, a mounting horror, signs pointing to the unnatural and cosmic forces at work and then at the end a brief horrifying glimpse of the horror. Being a sighting of Deep Ones. Loud and in your face just means that the aesthetic is skin deep and it will wear off until its just a redressing of product A, B n C. All swagger, no substance making for a game you play once or twice than toss away. What works for 40k does not apply to Cthulhu these are vastly different worlds, it would be like making Bram Stoker' Dracula a 80s action film like something outta Michael Bay, congrats it is now just something else wearing a skin suit of a vastly better work. Also for the love of Christ, i get it you disagree, speak your mind but chill dude, this isn't a flame war its a difference of opinion. Debate with maturity or learn first hand the harsh lesson taught by Socrates.
It's one thing to add a dialogue option to sacrifice someone off screen. It's quite another to ask the player to do the back carving themselves, and for me that's a bridge too far. I'm out.
Like this comment if Pravus running a cult reminds you of the cult he founded in Rimworld Call of Cthulhu + Rimworld of Madness before 👇 PRAISE PRAVUS!!!

The fact that the high priest is black is a nice middle finger to the racist author who wrote the books, if you ignore all the racism and anti-Semitism, the Cthulhu books are really good.

You have a new channel icon, why get rid of the P?
Yes I would love this turned into a whole series!
7 BRIDES,
7 RINGS,
7 SOULS, FOR THE SCARLET KING
But they where all of them decieved... For another Ring was made!
@@smudolinithegreatdragobear2433 the one ring to rule them all
Nice, another SCP enjoyer.
Seven is the Number.

What I am getting from these is anno: horrors beyond your comprehension.
27:25 A new hand touches the beacon
immediately screams "oh come on" followed by "nope i don't wanna do it"
This being a dark twist on anno seems very fun, definitely need to give it a shot.
21:41, you muat construct addicional pylons. Classic Starcraft joke.
*must
As an avid city builder player, I love your content! I am on the fence with this one and would love to watch some more gameplay from you!
Looks and feels a lot like the Anno Series. Atleast the building bits.

I would LOVE to watch you play through the two chapters that is available for early access. Will you please consider this?
They should've named it "Worshippers of Pravus"
PRAISE PRAVUS!
PRAISE PRAVUS
Definitely…. PRAISE PRAVUS
For somebody who just ate the Pope, this was surprisingly humane!
😁😁
Lul wut?

... it's a cthulhu game
so duh?

Feels like something they'll want to have a disable (or enable) option for.
They've added quite a lot since the last time I played the demo. It ended once you summoned the sea creature.
0:25 *Markiplier's Sucker for Love videos flashbacks* Oh no.... Oh, you meant Lovecraft. Oh, okay then😅
Praise Pravus. We all already knew you were secretly the high priest of the Great old one.
I like the carvings
This is my kind of game!
I knew it was a matter of time when I found the demo earlier XD it is time for Pravus cult!
Loved it, keep up the good content
Mandatory praise pravus!! Also praise the old ones i guess
Time to praise prathullu
Make a series youre followers asks this of the great Pravus

This was fun to watch, I'd definitely want to see more. I just deliberately don't watch the screen when the... uh, sigil carvings... are going on 😅
With this corn, I hope to see Hastur, the Yellow King.
Ahh yes, Frostpunk but with eldrich horrors beyond my comprehension

Oh boy, another lovecraftian city builder.
Dark Lord, give my wallet strength.
There are more? Any recommendations? I love city builders.

I wonder if this is gonna be another perfectly balanced game with no exploit.
When the game comes out I wanna see this as a full series. Also I think it’s in early access
To Pravus and Beyond 🍺
Thanks for the heads up trigger warning!
Did you know that this game is about worshipping unspeakable horrors? Me neither, I cant read
Cool game. Kinda reminds me as cult of the lamb. Just more brutal.
I wonder how many games involving Cthulhu are out there? ^^;
The answer is "yes."
@@aliasfakename3159icorrect. The answer is *not enough*
A decent amount.
An Eldritch horror city-builder video series from Pravus would definitely scratch a lot of itches at once. Just sayin.
I would be keen for a series
Praise Cthulhu! Praise Pravus! Prais the new series!
Waiting for another go of Against the Storm. You can get an achievement by winning as frogs on a wednesday
informative and entertaining
Oh f'taghn! A new series I hope.
LET HER EAT…I mean cook
We need this for a series, pronto
Saw the video when it had 999 views. RUclips is trying to tell us something about Pravus.
Before I even watch the video, I just wanted to say that the redheaded woman in the thumbnail looks zoinked out of her mind and its cracking me up.
Praise pravus our one and only lord
looks cool
Defo want this to be a series!
I just like accurate HP Lovecraft describe the cultist colored folks

I wonder what "Controversies" there are about Lovecraft aside from his Cats Name.
His writing contains more than a few racist depictions of various people. He seemed to lean into white superiority, often depicting native americans and black people as savages.
Hope you’ll return to this game and technotopia :-)
CLUT of Cthulhu or CLUT PRAVUS ? .)
please make more
Not squeamish, do think the game could do with more subtlety rather than just IN YOUR FACE BLUGEH! but whatcha gonna do i suppose.
But it has potencial.
i hope they don't make it with subtlety as its a game about a cult it should be in your face

I like the fact that the devs dared to be innovative and impactfull instead of making a 'safe' game.
