Same. Coming from the high revving K20Z3 I understand. I’ve always wanted to drive one of Toyota’s variant to see/feel/experience the difference between Lift and VTEC.
@@kingj88had & driven both alot, Civic Si & Celica GTS 2ZZ. The VTEC comes on alot sooner, and has a more linear powerband. The best feeling/sound combo ever.....holding that pedal flat to the floor and hearing that engine performing to full revs......

SOUNDS GREAT!!!
Love it reminds me of VTEC
same thing. Just actuates differently.
It's practically the same thing, mechanically extremely similar
I believe it s basically the same. Vtec is just VVL. The honda motors only have VVL, while the 2zzge has VVL and VVT

great videos mate, do you use the 1zz oil sump on your 2zz?
Cheers mate. Currently using the elise parts 2zz baffled sump.
You mean the moroso one? Is the oem 2zz baffle as useless as they say?@@MRS-2ZZ
can you show me your exhaust and intake setup?
This sounds just like a k20 lol nice build man
Love the sound of lift! is this with a tune or stock Celica ECU?
Stock UKDM Corolla 2ZZ ECU
Sounds almost exactly like vtec
It works in basically the same way. Personally I think it "kicks" harder than vtec. Sometimes the VVTL-i transition can be very apparent.
But low end torque doesn't match the 1zz does it? If not anyway to tune that or maybe a specific header/intake??
From what I’ve seen, stock for stock it’s only behind by a few % up to 2.5-2.7k rpm then starts walking away.
What gearbox setup you have? I can see you stay in lift while upshifting. I've got the Celica t-sport box with the Mr2 FL 6th gear and lsd
C60 6 speed with MR2 LSD.
So 2ZZ valve lifts at 6500 rpm?
All different across the world. UK 6200, Japan 5800-6000, US 6000-6500. In this video its lifting at 6200.

Shout out to every one with no rev limiter, you need max will power for that
It's got a limiter, it's just that it's beyond 1zz tach's limit.

2ZZ-GE swapped 👌

the toyota engine has like open vtec ngagement at 6.5k rpm...???
Yes something like that. Search up VVTL-i and you will find out more information about this engine.
It comes in so late, though. Switch that shit to 4K RPMs and feed it with a medium sized turbo.
Doesn't work like that with the 2zz, drop lift to low and it actually loses power.
