    The thing we gotta remember is that top speed is being limited by the rev limiter. It stopped at 240kmh not because it didn’t have any more power, but because it ran out of revs. A lower geared diff or longer 5th would give a higher speed. Impressive for a 25yr old non turbo 1.8L

    • @Dirkvnh

      Edit: 0:20 He does hit the limiter here, and sure enough it’s been raised to an indicated 9250 RPM (Sounds more like 9000 to my ears)

    • @_Professor_Oak
      @_Professor_Oak 19 дней назад

      It was starting to struggle, you can't expect much more with *only* 210hp and road-car aerodynamics. They had the ratio's just right, longer gears would sacrifice acceleration for a couple MPH on the top end. Not worth it.

    This video made me emotional and made many happy memories flood back to me. I had a JDM import DC2 for 5 years and used it as a daily workhorse, it spent a lot of time on the motorway, as well as going out most evenings in it and thrashing it to an inch of it's life everywhere I went. I put around 80,000 miles on it, selling it to a friend with just over 200,000 miles on the clock. It's still going to this day and I regret ever selling it. I didn't know it at the time, but I had the best car I've ever owned and driven in the best years of my life, travelling all over the country in it, having a blast on my travels whilst I lived carefree. It never broke down, never had an issue, never failed to put a grin on my face. Amazing piece of machinery, they certainly don't make them like that anymore.

    hitting 255kmh on speedo, same as any german car with v8 limited to 250kmh with 1/3 of the displacement is something very special, a NA 1.8L. on top of that, with great reliability, Insane!
    As time goes by this light NA cars will be more appreciated, such an analog pure mechanical experience.
    Just like a low cc tuned motorcycle hitting speeds it's not supposed to hit, a blast to ride/drive

    It's cool to see a Euro-spec Honda Integra Type R with standard rear foglight (left side rear bumper). Looks to be missing A/C but to rev to 9K is treat. Max velocity of 252 kph or 156 mph is very good for 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine.
