Scala dei Turchi 4K

Scala Dei Turchi is white cliff located over the Mediterranean Sea between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle (Agrigento) and its rock is made of a soft, limestone and blinding white marl which under the influence of nature formed a 50-meter natural staircase. At the foot of the cliff and making it soft and sinuous, creating terraces and smoothing every corner with the help of the sea and the salty breeze.
The name Scale of the Turks seems to derive from the fact that in ancient times the ships of marauding Arabs and Turks found shelter in this bay.
The sand of Scala Dei Turchi is dark yellow in color, and the water surface near the shore is clean and gives a pleasant blue. Beach guests can go snorkelling, diving and swimming. Particularly brave tourists climb the cliff and watch the stunning Mediterranean sunset from there however past few years climbing over the Cliff was forbidden they have guards just at the startiing path restricting the access by foot.
Scala Dei Turchi Beach has excellent restaurants where you can sample Sicilian specialties. The menu includes spaghetti with clams, fried tuna, mussel soup and sea salad.
You can get to Skala dei Turki in the summer by bus from Porto Empedocle or by private car. The beach is equipped with parking, which is better to take places early.
Parking cost: 5€ 4h and 8€ All day, it is better go early in busy periods.
Along the beach near the Scala there are two well-equipped facilities for dining and bathing.
When is it better to go
In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
