This is one of the best tributes to VH I've seen this past week. You guys really did an amazing job here, and totally gave justice to every part of the song. The vocals were on point, the guitar was just about perfect in tone and rhythm, the drums were very good, and the backup harmonies and bass were in the spirit of Michael Anthony! Eddie was absolutely one of the top 3 most influential guitar players in the history of rock music. Hendrix laid the tracks and Eddie drove the train of modern rock guitar. It was because of EVH that everyone started tapping in their solos and playing as fast as they possibly could for an entire decade! One could argue that fast guitar shredding was born in 1978. RIP to the king.

Although when I was a teenager and Satriani came out with Satch Boogie, that blew me away as a 19 year old when I had only been playing a few years. I was lucky being a teen in the 80's when all these preeminent modern guitarists came to the forefront of rock and metal. Guys you never think of like Kai Hansen of Helloween and Gamma Ray. Although I do have a huge soft spot for Dave Murray (Iron Maiden) a totally underrated player.

Saw Russ play in Atomic Punks in Vegas for years. I had a 5150 too and no matter how many times I asked him what his settings/mods were on the amp he always took the time to answer me. One show I noticed a lot more gain and volume coming out of his amp as he had a mod done. He said "ah ha you caught that? Right on dude 🤙!" One cool cat man I'm glad to see his playing made his life better for himself. Always a fan Russ 🤘

This song totally captures the VH sound & attitude! It always amazed that it didn't receive more attention. I love it because it was before the 1984 album which brought in tons of new fans, pre-84 VH as like a secret club!
