Yeah it could also be just a random mark the artist made. I don't think the artist intended it to be anything major just a style choice or maybe a cut or scar. Maybe while writing the game some one saw and thought the same as HG and thus made his alternate forms look more shekiah based.
not a theory but i‘d love to see minish cap get some love/new fans with a 3d remake (it’s also my fave 2d zelda), but at the same time it has So Much charm as it currently stands
Hyrule Gamer kind of like how the recently announced pokemon diamond and pearl remakes are going to be faithful remakes of the original games (as far as the look of the overworld goes for this comparison), a faithful remake of minish that keeps all of the bright colors and charm of the original would be fantastic (would also love to see oracle remakes. why are all of the hand held zeldas so criminally underrated?)
@@Typal24 I would prefer Wind Waker style. Maybe it was just the limitations of the hardware, but the characters in those games just look really awkward to me.
Nah. Pretty sure Link was the antagonist to Vaati's great story. And he would have succeeded too, if it weren't for those meddling kids. And their hat too.
We do know that the Minish can become human sized as both Ezlo and Vaati do this in the Minish Cap, so it is possible that a Shiekah and a Minish had a child. Presumably they're only able to do this during the festival but that would still be more than enough time for a child to be conceived.
I always thought Swiftblade was a prior Hero, for the reasons you mentioned, but I'm not sure if he is the Hero of Men. He is described as brother to the others, and none of them say anything about being anywhere near a hundred years old. It seems more like he recently died. I feel like the dead King is still a more likely candidate as a result. But yeah, Minish Cap is definitely the best of the 2D Zelda games
I'm a simple Saber, I see TMC I like and click sub... Then realized that I was already subbed and that I accidentally unsubscribed forcing me to sub again........ That aside, good job.
I believe in the Japanese versions, light force (minish cap), force gems, and life force (phantom hourglass) are just called Force. It's the english translation that gives them prefixes and such. Since force gems are made from life force, they are basically the same thing. One is energy and one is crystalline. Bellum had stolen the Ocean King's life force in order to become powerful and was after Tetra's life force (who is Zelda and contains the power of Hylia) to become a god and escape the ocean kings realm. Therefore Zelda's overwhelming life force is probably the same thing as the Light force. In conclusion Light force is just overwhelming life force. This may also be what the Triforce is actually made from. Which is most likely why Lorule was crumbling without the source of their world's life. After all, if Hylia, a lesser goddess, contains that much life energy. How much do three greater goddesses contain.
I really hope they remake the 2d games, they were all so good and super fun to play. The minish cap was my very first Zelda game so it always holds a place in my heart
We need a 3D version of the Minish Cap, not top-down like Triforce Heroes (Also an overlooked gem!), but like OoT 3D 3D. Where you can move the camera all around Link. Also, I think it should with the manga story. I really think Nintendo should make it official, and make the manga canon, specifically the TP manga (Way better than the game in my opinion, just read it and you will know what I mean), the MC manga, the HP manga, the LttP manga, and the Four Swords Adventures manga. Also, I think that the manga in the Hyrule Historia is canon cuz it's in the Hyrule Historia, which is approved by Nintendo. If it's not they should definitely make it canon, and more the master sword thing, I think that, as seen in the manga, using the master sword to raise up Skyloft, took a toll on the blade, draining all its energy until it reverted back to the goddess sword. I bet that the Link from that era turned the Goddess Sword into the Master Sword, before we first see him in the manga.
@@HyruleGamer Personally, I would have to disagree with you. I think a 3D version would work the best, it could give a concept of scale that the top-down version wouldn't really give, nor the original game, aside from a few areas.

Very good job on that video, keep it up
I could absolutely believe Vaati having Sheikah heritage. We literally see minish magic in the game that allows you to change your own size, so it's definitely possible for the minish to do that
has anyone else ever wondered about the origin of the hurdy gurdy man? (the npc who teaches you kinstone fusion, and the guy in my icon lmao) imo he far more physically resembles a minish despite obviously being human sized - his black eyes, face shape, long ears, hair, he even wears a large green clover which is a symbol associated with the minish, and uses the same voice as the minish elders (iirc) I always wondered if he was originally a minish who had crossed over to the human world too, to bring kinstones to the young humans of hyrule.. I think he's a really interesting character because of that interpretation!!
A hurdy gurdy is actually a really old medieval musical instrument that is still around, and you can find people playing them on RUclips. So maybe he was a Minish who heard the music from that instrument, liked it so much, so he decided to become human-sized to play it.
I played Minish Cap late (I passed it up when it came out because I didn't have a console for it at the time) and was pleasantly surprised when it displaced the rest and became my favorite 2d game (and top 3 overall). I just love the idea of visiting little Minish places in the middle of Hylian places (like the tavern in the rafters). And yes, I, a full-grown adult, legitimately chuckled at the minecart (& Ezlo's reaction) in the Cave of Flames.
The thing to keep in mind is that every time Nintendo gives an external studio the Zelda license for a game it has always come with the condition that the game is isolated from the main Zelda lore. We've seen this done with by setting these games outside of Hyrule, in alternative timelines and in obscure, isolated pockets of history. In short, there's never a reason to have theories linking them to the larger lore because the intent by the developer was always to keep them separate. That's means theories are actually more fan-fiction than fact.
Natural yes it will have flaws but the game is still considered a canon production. Fan fiction or fan theory, still a blast to discuss and that is what's important to me
Minish Cap is my second favorite game and I wish more people talked about it. I love every character you meet. My favorite is Vaati, I just love his story and his lil minish self
Minish cap is my favorite zelda game! i remember getting it gifted for my birthday and lately i got hold of it again together with the zelda limited edition gameboy! freaking love the game so much!

It's so great to see some Minish Cap love! Recently I finally was able to get my hands on a handheld GBA copy of the game (I've had difficulty finding a copy I could afford in the past...) and am playing through it for the first time. Such a fun, quirky game! :) Instantly one of my 2D favorites (right up there with LA and ALBW).
Just now catching up on the videos after aggressively working. I freaking loved this video for sure. Thanks Hyrule, this was some worthy snacking content.
I like to think of Vaati being an albino Picori. The Sheikah connection is definitely a wicked concept but how on earth would a Sheikah even conceive a child with something as large as a mouse? 🤔 Best not think about that 😳 Anyway, this video was a real treat. Really good theories. The Wind Tribe, Groose/Gerudo all seem to have red hair. All for a game that takes place after Skyward Sword and before The Minish Cap. Come to think of it, Vaati looks a lot like Magus from Chrono Trigger - classic red eyes and both are magic users with blue/purplish hair.
Phantom hourglass is the better one in my opinion. Spirit Tracks, to me felt under utilized but still underated by many of the Loz fanbase. I was reading comments on a video and alot were saying the the CDi games, DS games, a few said windwaker, and a few more said Skyward Sword were the worst. Hoping for a bunch of 2D remakes coming soon!
@@cathalsmyth6366 I prefer Spirit Tracks. Phantom Hourglass had a fun overworld but with the exception of Temple of the Ocean King had lackluster dungeons. In the back of the Hyrule Historia there is a short manga that features a version of Link that I always had thought could be the Hero of Man that is mentioned in Minish Cap. I realize that LOZ manga adds lots of details that aren't referred to as canon because they never appear in the games. But I still find them interesting nevertheless. The manga in the Hyrule Historia I believe is supposed to be a prequel to Skyward Sword in celebration of the game's release? It's been a while since I read it. But it's a pretty interesting read for Zelda fans no matter what you think of manga.
In another theory video, someone pointed out that Swiftblade the First's comment about requiring the sacred blade is not in the original Japanese, it was only added in the English translation.
I was just so shocked with the Swiftblade the First one. I have played this game several times and never noticed that little detail :0 Great video! I loved it :D
I think that Vaati may have some connection to Ghirahim. And what's up with Zelda villains and pale skin. Ghirahim, Yuga, Zant, Astor, Vaati, and Chancellor Cole.
Minish Cap my beloved ❤️ I’m so happy you covered Minish Cap because I love this game SO MUCH yet no one ever really talks about it :( Quality video as usual king ✨
My favorite handheld Zelda. Love it! I never actually thought of Vaati having sheikah blood but it makes so me much sense considering his physical traits (and sheikah eye transformation). Like someone else mentioned, we see Ezlo in human size form so it could be possible. The story says that the Minish gave the Hero of Men the sword and the light force so it can't be Zelda's blood power. What if the minish tried to replicate the triforce? They clearly had extensive magic knowledge. Could the wind tribe, besides being descendants of almighty Groose, be gerudo that managed to control the winds and lif up to the skies? The wind ruins are located on bottom left, where the gerudo desert is usually set. But they do have more males so that theory falls there.
For all we know it was a case where the Sheikah parent was shrunk down (or maybe an ancestor) in a previous time when the doorway was open sometime in the past, so that part of the theory could be feasible. I am honestly waiting for a full 3D Zelda with Vaati. That would be friggin awesome. :3
Perhaps the neatest thing about this game that nobody notices or mentions is the double pun of the name. It is not unusual for a title to be named after a person or object found within the game, but this one takes it to a new level. Not only are you trying to recover a magical cap made by the Minish, you are wearing a Minish (Ezlo) as a cap for most of the game.
55 seconds in, I don't even need to finish the video to tell you YES! Please do more 2D Zelda! Especially some Oracles content, those games don't get the love they deserve!
You got my sub the second you said Minish Cap was your favorite 2d Zelda. This game never gets any love and it's too bad because I personally also think it's a masterpiece. Love the video and the ideas.
Of course we could always just relate Vaati's not-so-Minish appearance to Demise's curse but we could always go another step further and say he was the opposite of the Hero of Time, born as a Hylian(or Sheikah in this instance) and left in the care by his mother (before dying) to a race similar to forest spirits but because of Demise's curse he was able to transform him into this evil apprentice-slash-sorcerer.

I was just so shocked with the Swiftblade the First one. I have played this game several times and never noticed that little detail :0
Great video! I loved it :D
Thanks a lot!
I think that Vaati may have some connection to Ghirahim. And what's up with Zelda villains and pale skin. Ghirahim, Yuga, Zant, Astor, Vaati, and Chancellor Cole.
Great theories for a personal favorite game! My favorite is the hero of men theory. Thanks for the quality videos that are well worth the watch!
Thanks a lot, much appreciated!
@@HyruleGamer thank you sir! It’s been awesome seeing the channel grow, keep up the great work!
Minish Cap my beloved ❤️
I’m so happy you covered Minish Cap because I love this game SO MUCH yet no one ever really talks about it :( Quality video as usual king ✨
I’ve always thought the 2d games needed more love and attention, thank you for starting what I hope will become a new trend of sorts
Minnish cap hits right in the childhood every time.
I think the wind tribe are ancient gerudo people. Since in the far future the gerudo are Chanelling lightning, which is connected to wind and the sky.
Love the idea of covering more 2D Zelda games. I have not been able to play most of them and this will give me some insight about them.
Yup!
Love your content. Keep doing what your doing.
Thanks a lot!
Yup
55 seconds in, I don't even need to finish the video to tell you YES! Please do more 2D Zelda! Especially some Oracles content, those games don't get the love they deserve!
Yay, my 3rd favorite Zelda game is getting more recognition!
Nice!
Yessss!!! Please do more 2D zelda theories and or Mysteries
Noted!
The Minish Cap has always been special to me because it came out the same year i was born. I guess it was always meant to be one of my favorites.

Very pleased to see a theory video about a 2D Zelda! I recently played ADVENTURE OF LINK and I kind of feel it's a little slept on. Thanks!
The Legend of Zelda will be always in my heart as my favorite game since childhood
You got my sub the second you said Minish Cap was your favorite 2d Zelda. This game never gets any love and it's too bad because I personally also think it's a masterpiece. Love the video and the ideas.
Minish cap is so captivating 👐
Maybe Vaati founded Sheika books before ?
Your the only other person I know of who’s favorite Zelda game is the minishcap. Loved the video!
Thanks!
Love it! Mining Cap is my fav 2D Zelda game. I‘ll let you know when I stream it haha :P great video!
Sounds awesome! Would love to watch that :D
Thank you!
Dude, thank you so much for giving the 2D games some love.
Of course we could always just relate Vaati's not-so-Minish appearance to Demise's curse but we could always go another step further and say he was the opposite of the Hero of Time, born as a Hylian(or Sheikah in this instance) and left in the care by his mother (before dying) to a race similar to forest spirits but because of Demise's curse he was able to transform him into this evil apprentice-slash-sorcerer.
great video!! i cant believe i never watched this before
Minish Cap is just my favorite Zelda overall. It is indeed nice to see it get some attention.
