Goddam the production is so good. Not many bands out there today have this good a sound. Nothing modern or commercialized about it at all. Very unique and dynamic soundscape. The drums are so spacey and wet. The guitar has such a great scratchy mid tone. You can hear the scrapes so well from fretting. I love everything about this direction of tone. They did excellent on their own but with the help of these new guys at the new studio the last two albums have just sounded better than anything else they’ve ever recorded in my opinion. Songwriting has just been so on point too. The power of the riff is so compelling and such a driving force in everything Darkthrone does. Much love and respect. Please make an album a year! Don’t wait 3 for the next one! So glad to see this follow up to Eternal Hails the next year.

i was a huge fan of celtic frost and i discovered this band recently. i do love this and yes maybe it has an influence from celtic frost but sorry celtic fros is dead and nobody will do the same lol

I was walking in the forest while listening to this track on Spotify. Then I saw this video at home and and it felt like a deja vu 😂wtf...Sounding really promising.
I love it! Although I liked Eternal Hails I also thought it was a slightly step down from Arctic Thunder and Oldstar, this on the other hand sounds like a mix of the three albums that came before. I'll await the rest of the album a bit more eagerly than before. The first part sounds akin to Bathory, but I love the Doom/Black/Thrash elements in the second half of the song as well.
This might be the best Darkthrone song in 10 years or so. Based off one listen, that is. I'm always ready for a new album from them, always a guaranteed purchase from me.

These guys have gone through so many interesting musical phases. I think the current Candlemass phase is their best one yet. Arctic Thunder, Old Star, Eternal Hails, and Astral Fortress are all fantastic. I shudder to think what their next phase will be. Do we have some Def Leppard albums on the horizon? Some John Fogerty alligator swamp tunes, perhaps? Looking forward to see what comes next!

Bathory/Celtic Frost yet pure Darkthrone. They have trully earned the right to play/mix whatever style the want and it always comes out great be it dm,bm,punk, hm, epic, etc.

A fine Dark Throne album. Great production. Everything captured well without over or under doing it. Especially how the drums are mixed against the guitar placement. Some electronic music is very good at being loud by not being loud and this does that without being totally lo Fi . And still brutal. Weird comparison but a friend of mine that is Norwegian has made electronic music for years and would never have the volume very loud yet it was crushing somehow. This has that. Again, great album.
a return to form? I mean Eternal Hails was a return to form :D This is "just" a continuation. There is basically 0% black metal in the song. It´s doom/heavy metal.
@@bes5164 The last part of the song is kinda death metalish (the riff that starts at 6:00), like almost a return to Soulside Journey atmospheres. Anyway this is a very Bathory--like song, there are black, doom and heavy elements in here.
Here is a true dedication. I am a huge fan of MuSick since a looong time, but I don’t think I would be ready to give such parts of my body. Or maybe just a part of my brain, something really less important than a lung.
