- Welcome to the tenth instalment of the developer diary series for the Cumbrian Coast Route from ourselves at On Track Simulation. We now work onto the Second phase of the route after year break from the project taking the scenery through to Sellafield and Braystones some 18 miles further north.
In this video we feature the section thats now complete between Millom and Silecroft.

This section from Millom looks great, looking forward to driving it sometime in the future, thanks Tom & Sean.
Welcome back! I was thoroughly impressed by the insane amount of detail when driving your route from Barrow to Millom, so I look forward to further expansions. However, take your time as I've started to appreciate the effort that goes into routebuilding. Given I've done some bits on routebuilding myself then got hit with real world commitments, I can now relate to the long time-gaps of this niche in freeware development. Due to lockdown and furlough during early 2021, I had enough spare time to churn out a full 18-mile fictional route from scratch (complete with full scenery) in just 3 months but thereafter (when I actually got huge changes in my real life), I barely done any further progress (despite planning many expansions and other ambitious routes, even hyping them up in some places) in over 2 years.
Hello, Understand you are busy with TSW, but are you still working on this route as its been 6 months since any update? Love this route. its one of my favs.
Hi I was wondering if there’s anyway jointed track could be added in future releases?
Out of curiosity, what are you using for the modern electric signals? And are they compatible with the AP signalling pack (I know the older mechanical signals dont work with it)?
Modern signals are the JT ones. Not compatible with the AP pack. The semaphores are north wales coastals.
Thomas,...thanks for the update, but the background "music" is very distracting ! Can it not be edited out ?
I didnt think it was too intrusive but i can tone it down for the next time we include music to a vid. Thanks for the feedback 🙂
