I will never be grateful enough for this song.
It helped me get out of 12 years of a toxic relationship.
I can breathe. I can reason. I can sleep. Good night. Sleep tight.
" Choice and bed be made, good night. Sleep tight. " Love that line. This album is a masterpiece.
Duudeeee, so rad.. And the riffs behind that chorus have so much balls
hits me everytime
so powerful and striking!
Yes. Master class in relevance, and poignancy.
it's reported that Hillary Clinton was asleep during the presidential election night of 2016, not because she was nervous, but because she was assured of her victory. After her loss it was quite unlike her to walk away, but as they say choice and bed be made.
@@mytzlplk5929 But it's a politically driven album. It's called Eat the elephant. He gotta song bout that Trump feller as well, maybe. The hourglass song is about nuclear warfare, something that almost happun with u.s. and Korean North. To me the song about Feathers (Not the Band) seems to be a call for speaking out politically instead of leaving it to the paid for opinions on cable teevee. Although A Perfect Circle is not a band who is absolutely political they have been boldly political in the past with that emotive album. I would be dipped in shit and rolled in bread crumbs if this album be about anything else.
I’d high five all APC members for taking another angle at their style. Great set of songs and a great journey listening to this record. Unique album. Is it better , is it worse than before ? Who cares!? It’s different and it is APC!
I'm with you here, I think it's unreasonable to expect a band to go in the same direction all of the time, and they were brave enough to take the music a little further this time.
2:32 until the end of the song is just pure magic. Love that they just flip that shit so fast
This one's got the most number of plays on my phone. The vocal melodies and the acoustic guitar make it stand out on the album.
this is by far the most classic APC sounding song on the album.
Remember that the wiggles before sides
How inconvenient and unexpected
And harrowing for you
As consequences tend to be
For the rest of us
So delicious
To witness your dread
Poetic justice consummate
Not unlike you to heedlessly
Hoist away your smug grenade
Arrogant and insolent
You don't give a damn
Collateral be damned
Not unlike you to hoist away
Hoist away your smug grenade
Choice and bed be made
Goodnight - sleep tight
So delicious
For the rest of us
To witness your dread
Poetic justice consummate
Not unlike you to heedlessly
Hoist by your own vain petard
Wrong side of history
You don't give a damn
Collateral be damned
Not unlike you to hoist away
Hoist away your smug grenade
Choice and bed be made
Goodnight - sleep tight
Cory Washburn tytytytyty
Google told me it was "Wedding just as consummate" but now that you mention it, it ALSO sounds like "Poetic justice consummate". How can we know for sure!
one of their best
@@Ayelis heard of context? Its "poetic justice".
This song was a perfect ending to a phenomenal concert, the only ❤ song the let us record, and I have part of it! I luv singing it too! Makes me feel fantastic!
This has a late 90's and early 00's vibe. I get slight mer de noms + smashing pumpkins vibe
YES THANK YOU!
yep same, i got very strong SP vibes from this one
cashew 024 Probably James Iha’s influence. He played a huge part in the Smashing Pumpkin’s sound
Nice catch! Just read an interview in Kerrang where Billy said that he actually wrote this song back in the Mer de Noms era and they were apparently spinning a lot of Radiohead’s OK Computer throughout.
The ending reminds me of Duran Duran's, "Ordinary World".
Best song on the whole album. Love it.
Eat the Elephant is APCs best album! Everything they do is great but this album is amazing!
Favourite song on the album for me
For me too.
Probably the best song Ive heard in a decade
Me to before eat the 🐘 which has been the best advise I've had before the people that are close to me by far! but just when to begin! has me hesitating and nervous I'm alone! If U or any one truely understands myself by that statement, interpretation or view I'm here to say we are not alone! But we are many and life, opinions, views and actions will weave us together as one and alone but as many and as human!! We are not alone while being alone and as one, your views and opinions keep u thinking your nothing like me or the person living up the street but as it's always been we are off our paths and thoughts and prayers, hopes and our way of how we think is to how it is you live ,. In general I mean
Emily Tweed mine too girl
Saaaame
James takes us back to 1994 with that more than just a little Pumpkinish outtro!! love it
I figured Corgan always played that part since Iha was more of a rhythm player
@@oompaloompadoompa-de-doo3614 he may have, I was referring mainly to the clear pumpkin influence
You know that Billy Howerdel does all the writing for APC, right?? Iha is little more than a session player.
You could stick this track on Thirteen and it wouldn't be too out of place. My favorite track on Eat the Elephant so far
No. Maybe on emotive.
This song is amazing... the lyrics, the music, the ending... ACP is like any good band that keep evolving their limits. Brilliant!
One of the best songs of the decade
I don’t understand the hate of the new album. APC is back... We should all be overjoyed.
It's very different to their previous work, there are some good songs on the album and this one's alright, but a lot of the tracks kind of tread water without going anywhere... to put it simply.
For most other bands you could say "ok, they had an off album, hopefully the next one's better", but we really can't hope for another can we.
Personally as much as i love his past music, i think Howerdel has run out of ideas, the Ashes Divide album kind of went the same way with The Stone being an absolute banger, then everything else kind of floating around with little direction.
It depends. One should be happy for APC releasing new stuff and willing to change up their sound for a bit. But that doesn't mean one should like it just because of this. IMO this record is really mediocre, and I really expected better from APC.
RUclipsCommentReader agreed
Agreed, however Disillusioned and Delicious would go on my "APC Greatest Hits" if I were to make one for sure.
Well you have those say their band has sold out. Then those who say they sound too much like there last release. These guys are still killing it as usual, but everyone's got an " in depth perspective" these days..
A Perfect Circle has always shown admiration for Failure. This is the best tribute to that admiration up to date.
Tomislav Androš Failure are legends, I think Greg is gana tour with the band
Love the almost Tull vibe with the vocal and lyrical aesthetic.
There's tons of songs about right up here. Don't know many but even the old songs before this is exactly the same fits perfectly.
Pure APC ecstasy
2.35 when it just takes off, holy shit I got goosebumps! Fu*king so powerful and beautiful.
Thank you “A perfect Circle”
Must've hit repeat a dozen times on this song today. It's brilliant from start to finish.
This is my absolute favorite A Perfect Circle album. Everything they do is amazing- but this album is one i can play beginning to end & start it over again... love this album!
Absolutely beautiful in the harshest of ways! I wish the last 1 minute of this song, after those lyrics crush you, was a MONTH long!! It moves my soul!!
Does anyone else think the ending sounds a lot like Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie era? I love it :D
fucking oath it does
I love the ear you have!! It totally does. I love both bands so much! And both are visiting me soon! ♡♡♡
It sounds like "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans".
Jennifer Redman YUP
Cold 'n' Hamm'rd really?
This song has a Bowie feel to it.
YES
LoStAnGeLiNvAiN
You hit the proverbial nail right on the head!
Totally does, good call!
total!
That may be why i love it so much. I'm a big Bowie fan
This is better than the next ten years of music in advance
Album just keeps on giving, my top track from the album has changed 3 or 4 times already.
pineal23 Same here. After a week it was Eat the Elephant now it's Delicious and By and Down the River.
So far, by far my favorite. Wow, goosebumps. Still working on listening to the entire album, but, wow, goosebumps!
❤
I can't help but live this album with all my heart. They are amazing in concert live. Finally calling out the blind
Best album on the song!!!
Loved this full album ,top to bottom
Great songs and great compositions
You are my favorite band in the wide world
Love the creativity in this album 😍😍
feu are u lost?
There is more creativity in this album then almost any other..... Its not all about the sound, its a harmony of frequencies and meaning(MEANING) Leave the Lead state of mind and work towards the Golden consciousness. Peace
Ares Hermes whoa whoa whoa, hold up. You had me up until you made it seem (probably unintentionally) that previous albums by APC had less meaning. This is simply inaccurate. Mer De Noms was just more of a personal perspective album Hollow, Thinking of you, Sleeping Beauty, etc... 13th step was as well with most if not all inspired by addiction and the problems it brings. This album seems geared toward our shared experience of existence.... Disillusioned is a perfect example of this...✌😁
Yeah, they're evolving...as every band/artist should. Enjoying this^^
&% I can explain: this album brings nothing new to the table, it is creative in a sense: Maynard and Billy never explored these sounds as much as they dod on this record, but that doesn't mean the sounds are new. Some songs are trip-hop-ish, some others more like classic rock/pop inspired and there's plenty of classical instrumentation in the record too. I don't see anything new or that hasn't been done better by other bands. But I'm totally fine if you guys like it, to each it's own. That being said, this record is objectively non-revolutionary and brings zero new things to music in general.
This reminds me of a classic rock song with an APC twist. I really enjoy how chill it is :D
AFarCryAway Absolutely, my thoughts exactly. Almost like this could be a Rush cover or something similar. Idk. That's what my ears heard
SAME
Jethro Tullish
Yes! I was going to say Jethro Tull as well.
I can't believe there aren't 100 others.
After the 2:50 mark, this really sounds like an old school Smashing Pumpkins song to me. ... James Iha's influence is clear here.
Even reminds me specifically of Lift by Radiohead at like 3:20
yeah
its the phaser in the lead guitar
so fking nostalgic!
I forgot how good the ending is. If you don't listen all the way through, you're missing out.
i like the way he says delicious :P
Delicious....drum sound
in each song the singer's voice is awsome ;D
Thank you for it all.
It makes me think of all the people who "don't give a damn" that they're on the "wrong side of history", who support someone who thought it was "inconvenient and unexpected and harrowing" to actually win a competition when he didn't think he would, and now despite his own calls for unity, he actively fights against "the rest of us" who have to deal with the "consequences" of his actions.
You've made your choice and your bed, now sleep in it. Your tears will be Delicious.
Honestly I kind of expect in a year or 2 this album will be seen as better than the others. Gonna catch come flack for that but every song I've heard on this album has been ahead of its time.
Brandon Jeffers Maybe not better than the others, but in the same tier for sure. More variety than ever but still oozing APC.
Cory Washburn Good point. I just listened to 13th step earlier as well and realized no album can be better than that one lol but the criticism I've seen against this album will definitely diminish the more people listen to it as it's own record and not with a preconceived notion of what the album "is supposed to sound like".
Brandon Jeffers Exactly. If the album was what I expected it to sound like, I would not like it so much. I can see a lot of people are getting hit by the shock value and not letting the music pierce through their ignorant shell.
Cory Washburn Yea hence my year or 2 aspect of my comment lol some folks need a little longer to appreciate the art of it all. Speaking of appreciation I appreciate the intellectual, respectful response to my original comment. Good on you to disagree but like an adult lol
It's a fantastic album.
In love with this song.
Quickly becoming my fav on the album
These lyrics man :)
Oh my god this album is magnificent
Micro Isn't it, though?
The creativity is On !!!
Been waiting for A Perfect Circle to grace the music scene again. Love this new music!
Austin Lavista yee
My favourite song of 2018!
This album is a beautiful grower, frankly just like 13th step and mer De noms was. I'd expect no less.
That ending is so Porcupine Tree
ProgForGuitar Spot on
🗿
I would say Smashing pumpkin s
No. It is "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans", by Smashing Pumpkins, which James Iha helped write.
It really is 😂
This song is awesome. Yep.
Getting a Failure vibe here. The Band.
Agreed. Failure is a definite influence here
Best song on the album
How comfortable, the music
favourite from the album
Album of the year. The melodies are great. Going to see them end 2018.
This is a fkn GREAT SONG!!!! Maynards arrangements and signatures are just flat out amazing!!!!!👍👍
Maynard 2022 love it so happy been waiting on this 👍👍👍
Yet listening in 2020...yeah!!!
now this song has thirteenth step elements written all over it..this gives me that same vibe and tone that 13th had.
This song is pretty rad.
This is 100% like old APC, for all those complainers you must at least like this one ;)
Another great track on an amazing album
It totally could pass for a song from Mer de Noms
As an APC Curator, yes, it pleases me, along with talktalk, Feathers, the doomed. The track Eat the Elephant is not bad at all, is slow but good, just like Blade Runner 2049. Track #5 is a disaster that they include to attract new generations I suppose.
Pickles exactly jfc stop expecting TOOL from APC. Two different bands, two different sounds. This album is amazing 😍
awsome song original, 👌
So far, this is a solid album.
Been a long time coming.
This is by far my favorite song on the album! I love it!
Is that Billy Howerdel or Mr Maynard? Who knows ..that's the fun! I love you guys !
perfection takes time. dang people.
Perfect. Nice song to hear and play on guitar
Prime is about a 10 year span. You can't expect them to be as creative almost 20 years after their best, most solid material.
Proof that Maynard can tell off the entire human race and we'll still love it.
Best song on best album imhumbleh
Love this song, one of my favourites on the album
beautiful song
One of my favorites from this album!!
It definitely sounds like something from Mer de Nomes
no way!!!!Perfect!
Perfect audio experience.
Maynard dropping some delicious Bill Shakespeare here. Nice!
I got the reference also because i too, read shakespeare.
awesome song,, gives me a vibe of old smashing pumpkins.. Maynard will always be full of surprises,, love it
This is one of the better songs so far
Todo lo que haces es maravilloso tanto como perfect circle y tool haces que la piel se erize
Just awesome stuff here!
Unbefeckinglievable!!! Thanks for this!
I admire this band, always have, always will. It must not be easy to pour your heart and soul into music, allow it to consume you and then send it off out into the world, either to be ravaged or adored. There is never quite an in-between. I suppose the main seed of truth lays within its initial structuring, each member of a perfect circle has provided their articulate and intelligent creative expression and so on that foundation alone its a very special album. In my view, art on any level keeps on transforming, it does so through unique interpretation and individual perspective. A perfect circle's artistic musical expression becomes ours through this wonderful transformation. I take great solace in the good seed of intention, no matter what, when this music was agreed upon and sent out into this world by the band it's initial intention was purposeful in its expression. I wholly admire that fact alone. ~X~
I enjoy this album, it's different. But if you listen to all the album's from pretty much every band, ever. There is always change. Sometimes it has to grow on you and sometimes you fall in love at first sight. Not bad, just different. I hated 10,000 days the first 15 times I listen to it. Now i love it. Put away the hatorade and let it grow on you.ll
Digging this new Jethro Tull Tune..
Man that guitar solo at 3:02 is so fuckin beautiful
The ending is Epic music to my ears, takes one away....
Maynard te amo!💕
In love! 🖤
Like a breath of fresh air.......WAIT!......did i hear a hint of smashing pumpkins there at the END. Your a genius Maynard
My favorite song on the new album.
Wow APC more impressive with every new piece of work.I cant even say which song is my favorite .Love the elephant ,eat the elephant
Perfect audio experience in 23/12/22!
Early lyrical weavings of 7empest here. Both great songs.
Beautiful.
Porcupine tree is on my top list for bands to get lost in.
And you've made that list.
Not a matter of why, just a matter of when I heard you.
Thanks for the fisg
Delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious delicious
over and over over and over and over and
I Love Maynard's voice!
Catherine Kenney I love the way he says Deliciiiiious.
Thanks James Iha for the ending. Can’t wait to see you live with smashing pumpkins
