    Only criticism I got is the handle. The primary reason why you don't see round handles on tools like this is for edge alignment. With an ovate cross section, you get tactile feedback telling you where edge of the tool is pointing. Plus it helps to keep the tool from turning as you hit things.

    Cool hammer, but you should cast the two copper faces separately. Then, cut a pipe thread on the back. That way, you can unscrew and recast them when they become too deformed.
    This also gives you a chance to use different materials (lead, plastic, brass) on the same hammer.

    A. Make plugs out brass/copper, screw them in
    B. fill in the head between the screws w/ heavy shot (or the busted/chipped carbide cutting tools from your mill/lathe [for a deadblow]
    Very cool design and build

    Interesting idea.
    For tightly threading round things (like 03:20 or 10:00) try using a strap wrench, it's relatively cheap (you can find decent ones as cheap as 10-15 euros) and will spare you a lot of effort.

    Lok'tar Ogar! I never would have thought you would have got a sponsorship from WoW, lol. For anyone that hasn't been interested in it until now, I can say without a doubt that now is the best time to start playing. I've been playing on-and-off for 18 years (around 19,000 hours in total) and in my opinion, the gameplay has never been better. The story of The War Within is shaping up to be some of the best we've seen in a long time, too. Would absolutely recommend.
    I can tell exactly what weapon is being made in the next video, and I'm really excited to see how it turns out.

      Thanks a lot! I think any kind of copper alloy will work harden faster then copper. So plain copper should be the best for a dead blow effect. That's what I remember at least, I've not looked into it. 😁

    • @Serenity_Dee
      @Serenity_Dee Месяц назад

      Brass and bronze are both harder than pure copper. I don't know for sure so don't quote me, but I believe that it'd behave similar to the aluminum, depending on how much it's been used. (As it work hardens it'd get bouncier.)

    Interesting! As a "wood-aholic" there are some woods that can be threaded, boxwood, if you can find it is one. I think that is a plumbing pipe, and I did find out that they are tapered rather than straight threads, not positive though. A few other woods can be threaded, like lignum vitae and some of the rosewoods. I don't have much of a machine shop though.... I have a number of wood mallets though.

    Another simple method, deglove some copper wire, pack it as tight as you can, and strike it with a hammer (gently). I won't fuse together, but it will mold together and thus allow you to stack it pretty tight. Then put that inside a pipe and mush the ends so that it doesn't come out.

    • @wyattbussard9558
      @wyattbussard9558 28 дней назад

      No it is no where close to being as hard as heat treated and tempered steel. It’s not even as hard as non-heat treated steel. He made a copper hammer because it is non marring. Meaning it won’t dent metal stuff that he hits. It’s like a more persuasive rubber mallet.
