for all those commenting that the tools are crazy expensive,, this tutorial is not for personal use. this for comercial purpose that you can open your repair shop.
thanks for the video . i hope i can invest on this later
Im more impressed that such specialist tools exist!
Yes, the technology is limitless and you can learn more interesting ways
They have existed for a while now. You can also do it manually, but the risk of bending a pin (or eating a pin because of the heat) is pretty high.
someone made bad decisions while designing the laptop
Here’s my guess, a “refurbished” i7 Mac may have undergone this process. It doesn’t look bad, just not original.
This is not an upgrade, it’s art!
Thanks
@@masterliu1892 Wonder if 8th gen could be used. If it's H-sku, I wonder if a Xeon M could be used.
@@ellenorbjornsdottir1166 No, CPU pins are different, 2015 is the 5th generation, 8th is 2018
right, because he could have just bought a core i7 instead, then sell out the i5
I completely agreed....this is manufacturing MacBook Pro
I wish I had such skills and tools. One Mac could last a lifetime. Every time a piece dies you can just replace it
Yes, you can do it. When you learn how to repair Macbook, you can repair a lot of Macbook motherboards
I bet if your tried you’d be surprised ! You can do it just as well as the OP!!!!! I bet you it isn’t as hard as you believe it is.
Ifixit can help you with that
Agreed! The reason why manufacturers moved to soldering CPU’s, SSD’s, RAM, and other components to the MB simply to keep you coming back and buying a whole new machine. It’s the same companies that push for “green” products yet make it near impossible to refurbish your old equipment.
@@MasterLiuTechnology once support of old macport is over and U cant install new apps
This is such a mastery in fighting Apple's planned obsolescence. Replacing A1502's battery and SSD was the best I could do.
This fights absolutely nothing at all. .The machine is still obsolete in the exact same way. It’s slightly faster but you still cannot install Mac Os Ventura
And then they void your warranty for fixing their shit product into the way it should have been in the first place
@@AgentCraftwork something tells me that the warranty already expired after 8 years
@@Coolie-ds4tu The only way of fighting Apple obsolescence is not buying their crap at all.
Very well made and interesting to watch, I have no plans to do this upgrade myself, but enjoyed learning what goes into it!
Thanks for your support!
I got huge respect for your work, Master Liu ! On top of it, very interesting and educational !
Like a boss. lol you make this all look so simple. Applause all around to you good sir!
Thank you
If i ever needed to upgrade mine, ill definitely talk to you, This is beauty turning mac's into a beast! Pleasee make more video like this so you can educate every techgeek!
Truly a master doing it's work! Well done Master Liu!
People like you never ceased to impress me, Keep it up!!!
Thank you for your support
God Bless Master Liu, your family, and the work you do. your videos are helpful and informative, i am learning so much. keep up the great work. THANK YOU!
Hi,friend ,thanks for your support
Probably the easiest upgrade video of a BGA CPU
Not even planning on doing it but I watched the whole thing anyway 😂
Thank you
i didnt even have a macbook, but it was a nice video
How would you even do it? Buying a desoldering machine like that, which costs probably more than 3 macbooks? Not to mention the specialized toolware
Dont even have a macbook but watched it 😁
@@Beatleman91 yeah BGA machines are expensive but if you realize you need one then you probably have a reason for it. Not many people have these.
One day I'll have MB fixing skills like you, thanks for this video and songs!
I can't even my cereals without spilling the milk and u doing this ...
One thing I learned from this video is I can replace the logic board and keyboard without removing the screen. Thanks!
I like it when our devices are easily user upgradeable such as this one :)
This is the opposite of easily upgradable, he has to reball and reflow the BGA under the cpu, it’s just more work than the machine is worth
this isnt easily user upgradable xD
@@benstockton2285 that's the
that's the joke
I wish this guy offered this as a service I could pay for. What a genius ! Always seen comments where hundreds of people said this isn’t possible and laughed at the idea. Well who’s laughing now look at this man defy apple forcing us to buy more macs
It's risky to remove the chip like that. It's not like there's a latch to remove cpu like with desktops
Wonderful video and method! Is it possible to upgrade that specific MacBook Pro to Quad-core i7? Or only dual-core i7?
Thank you for share your knowledge Master Liu
Good video, do you have a suggestion for thermal upgrades?
the pcb water is called isopropanol, the solder paste is called flux, and the thermal glue is called thermal paste.
solder paste is flux with added solder, but the glue around the cpu after cpu-change is missing. ^^
i like the video and want to learn how to replace soldered cpu´s, reprogram chips, bios, and pcb repair.
thank you, good work!
Hello friend, thank you for your guidance. I will share more videos
There's actually a thing called solder paste, it replaces the soldering wire found commonly. Usually used in automated machines where they use a mask to apply solder paste, a pick and place machine places components on PCB and finally the board is baked in a temperature controlled oven.
Amazing skills 👌👌👌👌 I have seen not a lot of people do this stuff and even if something small goes wrong, the mistake is expensive. Damn
Should not be replaced the cpu cooling as well?
This is beautiful. Loved the background music too.
Prince (Explicit) by Weibing Luo 👏
thank you
Man, those tools are very great
I love that one of the chips only partially touches the heat spreader.....
me interesa saber si los cursos estan disponibles en español
Hi Liu, i want upgrade ssd of my macbook air 2015, what kind of ssd can i use with my macbook. Can you recommend a usable ssd for my macbook. Thank you very much 😊
Dude that’s amazing I want to learn how to do thing like this or even smaller.
that serial number changing tool is very interesting
I’m new to this but an older MacBook Pro models have the i7 but not this 2015 ?
Where do you get the upgrade CPU? I assume for another donor board?
Very nice video :) but I think that an i7 with high thermal throttling is the same that to have an i5 with normal thermal throttling.
Yup this was my thoughts. I have an I5 ITX build, there is just enough room in there to cool that. I tried putting an I7 in there and the performance increase vs the noise of the fan just didn't make sense to keep it.
Is there anyway to do this without the super expensive heating pad?
Dude, it's alien technology. How you dare to make it public?
Amazing job!!!
Great video!! What kind of tweezers are you using?
wow, amazing job! i didnt even know people would do this even though its soldiered
Is there any upgrades for MacBook Air mid2011 ?
And Mac Pro 2008 ?
I love your screw driver set, do you have a link to AliExpress?
how was the cpu placed back and the pins aligned perfect???????????
Looks easier than I thought, gonna try this in my bedroom.
That chip programmer look’s awesome
Would any rework machine can be used? Why the coin?
Such an easy process , only need a gigantic factory machine , some bunch of latest and advanced tools and some glue and i'm all set
What is more costly? To replace the complete MacBook or have done this? I guess not many people can afford such tools, let alone have such skills... BTW where to get a brand new fitting serial number?
Long live , Master Liu
Thank you
This is pure art!
Good job Master Liu
who would think it was that easy and perfotmed with tools you find in the local micro market...
Very nice screwdriver kit. Where can it be bought?
nice i hope i can do such amazing stuff in the future
I love watching things that are just out of my skill level and things I haven't done before, like reflashing IC's with a custom rom or board soldering with temperature controlled thermal profile. Shame the hardware looks damn expensive and very specialized like an avocado slicer!
Wow you are a Master indeed! A+🙇♀
Should be added that displayed CPU replacement on programmable soldering station with preheater, is not for DIY at home. Although it depends... for ones who have spare money and a corner in garage or dry basement for it, it is not a problem. But unfortunately not for regular apartment dwellers.
Ele trocou o processador e ainda teve que regravar a BIOS? O Mac não reconheceu o I7?
Now this was fun to watch. Should upgrade RAM next
Seriously next level!
That's impressive work.
Great job...شكرا
I'd like to see a modern apple silicone swap
I wouldn't ever do this but fantastic work.
Se tiene que poner otro numero de serie?
Dear friend, i have a MacBook pro mid 2015 with 2tb ssd and 16gb of ram, is it possible to upgrade the CPU from i7 to i9. And is it possible to upgrade the ram by soldering new ram chips to get 32gb.
Amazing,very professional.
You think this could work for the mid 2012 a1278
Easy money to make. Good skills
Hi master I am from India
I love your skill and your tools
amazing working skill. nice video
Very complex, how to correct the core position?
The music was so much bettter than most tutorials
He is so skilled that he says to turn off the gadgets even how funny is yhat unintentionally
Put the seventh in such a small laptop, can the laptop cool it?
Thanks for explaining in detail, just about to try
How did it go?? I have a macbook air from early 2015 and am tempted to try it as well^^
@@adventureclaude Do you have BGA machine?
H'o'w to upgrade the CPU to MacPro mid 2010 ?
@Master Liu what the price for doing that ?!
perfect tools = good job
So power stage to cpu is the same i5-i7?
I was a bit confused when it said "add solderpaste" but you meant solderflux.
Do you do walk-ins? Swapperoo while you shop?
Cool!, ¿pero de donde saca esta gente estas herramientas?
Where would you get an i7 chip from?
That was incredibily impressive.
Now if there is a way to upgrade the GPU?
Ines of yhr more complete interesante an usefulls videos thanks You show allthis Wonder technical ..
Beautiful, inspiring.
Thank you
Wow, Eyes open. So impressive
i didnt even know you could just buy BGA cpus just like that, how cool
damn this guy is professional
Sir pls give full bga machine profile setting 3rd gen to 11gen intel cpu
Video espectacular para verlo entero, gracias.
Master Liu, can macbook pro late 2011 to change this processor? I mean from i5 to i7? 😁
buy a new one
Chinese technicians are MASTERS at repurposing ,upgrading and making new things out of antiquated devices , absolutely amazing , this is how the world should recycle E-waste.
Really easy and it doesn’t quite need any skills or tools.
Master....What is the link for the bios tool
BGA chips are kinda of impossible to replace for the average joe
Why ir heat stil @45c
Nice job, but pretty sure there is no performance difference with that tiny cooler.
Great! Now I just need someone to buy me all those tools!
