Over 1,700 female recruits join Zambia Army

Over one thousand seven hundred female recruits have joined the Zambia Army after a pass out parade of class 37 of 2023 in Kapiri Mposhi district- Central Province.
The pass out parade held at Lukanga Barracks in Kapiri Mposhi is the largest intake of female recruits in the country's history.
Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA who officiated at the Pass out Parade said the inclusion of women into the defence force is a step towards gender parity.
Mr. LUFUMA said as a progressive and democratic society, Zambia has a duty to uphold the principles of equality and no discrimination.
