Pffff... I love that they managed to weave the Halifax Explosion into the narrative.
A proud part of our Canadian Heritage!
This is very interesting. Thank you for sharing.
hahaha channeling British comedian David Mitchell. This is a good sketch.
They've always had this ridiculousness. Just the face of the ridiculousness changes as time goes on. But it definitely has that vibe to it too...
Bring Back Shawn Majumdar !!!! Bring Back Shawn Majumdar !!!!
Really funny!!! I'v always wondered about the history of the Donair One of the best foods Nova Scotia has to offer!!!
Funny sketch. The orgins of the donair date back to the 1800's in turkey. They call it a "Doner" which means "rotate". The Donair was introduced to Canada in the 1970's by 2 brothers from greece
Thanks for the clarification. No connection to the Halifax Explosion either.
Although a Maritimer did invent the sweet sauce. As an alternative to the "spoilt milk" yogurt sauce.
You...you didn't actually think this was genuine, did you?
+Robert Wallischek Of course not. But some others posting here apparently do. And so do many others posting this link on FB.
You can sit on my doner and rotate.
Turks claiming every fking food on the planet as theirs. From wonton soup to French fries 🤡
There goes the Mont Blanc
I miss Shawn.
I actually found this funny, especially since I love donairs (especially the sauce.) Imo the best place to get them is Greco's.
3-10-3030 Greco!!!

_"drunk people"_ ...Yeah, right... Drunks eat hot wings. Stoners eat 'donairs'.

Can confirm…
Well, if CBC can parody Heritage Minute, why not the Cons.? Seems like there is a double standard taking place here.
there is a verb in turkish as Don-mek and Doner is an extension of this verb. Sorry greeks, arabs, germans and canadians. Doner is all Turkish from the very beginning
You do know this is a joke....
It was made in turkey though wierdos
the donair or gyro is a greek dish, pb and j is more canadian than that..............
This is an unfunny and humorless skit that is accompanied by an annoying computerized laugh track.
William stfu this is funny
Cultural appropriation?
