One of the funniest things to me is that luffy knew one of the most important secrets in the world, and all anyone would have had to do to learn it is ask him, because he wouldn't have even thought to lie.
It's even funnier when you remeber that Luffy had no idea who HIS father was until Garp told him a few weeks before all of this.

Mihawks blade isn't the only Supreme Great Sword present in this battle. The "spear" Whitebeard uses is one of the 12 Supreme Grade Swords as well. Since this is only ever mentioned in an SBS i thought i'd drop it here.

He has surpassed the emperor, he was even once a rival of roger, and once offered roger to go to raftel and become king but he refused for his dream of making a family
@@Zorothex5152 Nah Big Mom is also at Kaido level. Don't be fooled by the hype (it got me too for a second) but watch it again. They ringed her out. She wasn't even really hurt or fatigued. Even if she was, she can endlessly eat other peoples life spans that she's saved up for more power/healing. Endlessly recreate the soul items (only brook can counter that). If they weren't flying in space and on the ground, Law and Kidd would have died and Kaido and Lin Lin would be tag teaming Luffy.

Jack ain’t gonna understand this for a LONG while.
Whitebeard made the rule that the worst crime to commit on a ship is to kill a crewmate, and Ace lived by that as one of his core rules. Whitebeard telling Ace not to go because he was worried about him was meaningless to Ace because he believed it to his core because Thatch was like a brother to him. So Whitebeard takes responsibility even though he told Ace not to to go because he was so adamant as it being the prime sin of a crewmate betraying everyone.
On point, Jack.
Whitebeard realizes that by creating the family, he created all the bonds him and his sons share. So by one of his sons killing another, the whole family is affected, ultimately making Whitebeard and all of Aces "older" brothers at fault
It's actually great that Ace of all people gets to see the people who love him come together to fight for him with all they've got
Fun little note about Whitebeard's power. In Japanese, it's the Gura Gura no Mi, guragura being the onomatopoeia for something quaking.
His laugh since introduction has been Gurarara.
It's been there in his laugh the whole time.

I love that "power to destroy the world" bit. It doesn't mean that he can physically crack the world in two, but in a world where everything is practically islands, its so strong. Imagine what happened here, but on a grand scale.
Actually, i have a theory that what they mean is he has the power to destroy the Red Line, which would change the dynamic of the entire world, as well as virtually eliminate the foundation of the World Government.

So a bit of backstory for Thatch and Blackbeard. IIRC, one of the rules of Whitebeard's Crew is that the spoils of any adventure/fight belong to whichever Division/Person claims it. In other words, if someone finds a Devil Fruit, it's considered theirs and they can do with it as they please.
Blackbeard joined Whitebeard's crew because it was the most likely way he'd stumble into the fruit he so desperately wanted. Unfortunately, he was a part of a different division than Thatch, and Thatch clearly didn't want to give up or trade the fruit, so Blackbeard committed the ultimate taboo of Whitebeard's crew, killing a crewmate.
So even though that put a potentially deadly mark on his back, Blackbeard's ambitions were just that sinister.
Whitebeards devil fruit is actually very versatile in combat as you will eventually see. Eating the Tremor tremor fruit he is a “Quakeman.” He’s able to create earthquakes/ shockwaves, which can cause tsunamis. If you look into the science of Tectonic plates and fault lines irl, you’ll realize he actually does possess the power to destroy the world. Whitebeard is as respected as he’s feared. Gigachad.

Whitebeard only told Ace not to go after Blackbeard, when in fact he could've easily stopped him if he really wanted, so by not doing so he basically gave Ace a pass to do as he pleased hence why he said that "he told him to go".
Yea, White Beard could of stopped Ace, his age and experience told him going after Blackbeard was a bad idea, but deep down white beard wanted Blackbeard punished for committing fratricide on his ship. White beard is only human after all and his Pride was wounded, he also had a lot of faith in Ace enough to waylay his doubts.
Also Jack forgot that Shanks told Whitebeard to stop Ace but Whitebeard didn't trust Shanks' warning about how dangerous Blackbeard is even without his devil fruit power.
I recall that crossed out "S" is reference to Ace's former pirate crew Spade pirates.

the Marineford war is so amazing because we've already seen what the "enemy" is capable of. Having seen Mihawk, Aokiji, and Kizaru in action, and how effortlessly they dealt with the Straw Hats and the SuperNova gives us a very clear insight into what the Whitebeard pirates are up against. This is one of those incredibly rare times where we know much more about the enemy than we do the allies, and it makes this so tense and so spectacular as a result

interesting fact: the history books doesn't know wich was the real name of the pirate known as blackbeard (I mean the real pirate), the names he was known were Thatch and Teach, but nobody knows wich one was the right one!
It was mostly due to the poor spelling the pirates of those ages had and half the time there ear drums were blown out and become half death by the many ship battles and cannon fire so Thatch and Teach both sounded the same among pirates those days and also counting most pirates had missing teeth so the words came out not always right.
For me till today (haven't seen the series for the last years since the end of dressrosa arc) This whole story around Luffy after sabaody was so fantastic. I love everything about it. And i skipped nearly every other character because i always wanted to know how it goes on with Luffy.
Whitebeard devil fruit has to be part of the top 5 strongest devil fruits in the One Piece universe.
I'm glad we at least got a peak into Ace back story.
Definitely top 5 in terms of attack power but it's not top 5 in terms of overall versatility and flexibility in a fight.
