UNFORTUNATELY this solo has been remover from GMC due to copyright issues.
About the solo:
I've searched all RUclips.com to find a live video where Kirk can be seen playing the whole lead. Usually all the vids are missing the beginning and the middle section of the solo. However, I've found one where Kirk's left hand motions can be seen, so I've figured out that he plays the beginning like I play in this video. The middle section is a sort of a cromatic run, basically Kirk improvises this every time he plays it, as you can see it in some of the live videos.

the tone isnt the greatest in the context of the song, but its great for hearing the notes out and making the solo out, im glad you used it because it helped me pick up the nuances with tons of clarity, keep it up

I like that metallica has like every difficulty of solo so you can start with the like the first master of puppets solo and work all the way to somethin like this, anyway sweet work man!

Thank you again for this excellent video...it is the cleanest & clearest version I have seen in all of Tubeland. This is easily one of Hammett's best solos, and I've been loving it for many years. It's hard for me to believe that I'm actually getting "good enough" to play solos like this & the No Remorse into. I always remember saying "when I can play that good, I'll quit!!" Well, I'm now realizing these solos aren't that difficult. Damned fast, but not hard. Practice practice practice.

@Jim21680 To those trying to learn in, I suggest saving the video as a local copy, and playing it through something like VLC or QT with the ability to slow it down. It helped me greatly. This is the perfect video to learn it.

Wow... this is amazing. I'm currently learning how to descend the pentatonic in triplets, something you did very well. I seem to be having difficulty moving my index finger to the upper strings. Any suggestions?

Makes you appreciate Kirk's note selection back in the Lightning/Puppets solos. Everything else after just seemed a bit to Wah/Pentatonic.

Hey man, epic cover. you got any suggestions for metallica solos that are easier to learn than this one, Creeping Death's one of my favourite 'Tallica songs but I'm stuck playing hetfields parts atm. I need a suggestion thats easier than this but harder than Bells. cheers

I see alot of comments about no feeling. Seems to me he is playing solo so we can see the mechanics of the playing without any feeling interfering with our learning. I imagine if you gave this guy a few beers and put him in front of a few thousand people, he may have a bit more feeling.

@dobermanche ok thanks and i heard about a tipp that if you can play it 100% at normal you should try to speed up because the normal speed is much easier then. do you think that would help or?
