Stuff to do: Make some tutorials!! The "How To" is bare bones so I'm gonna do a few days creating some really simple guides on how to use Magic Animate. Did find some teeny bugs so will fix those. Then start work on the new packs! Thanks for your understanding/patience all.
There are tons of YT videos to help you with Resolve. I've had the Studio version since v14.2. And I've never looked back or bothered with other brands. The free version can get you started. But, I highly recommend the Studio version. Particularly because you pay for it once, and get every update until the end of time.
I have it downloaded on my Laptop but find myself using my gaming desktop PC to edit everything. The plug ins are what turned me off, when I tried to use a sound plug in, it never showed up as a selection
Awesome update as always Alex, I'm not sure if it would be possible but a feature I would love to see would be the ability to alternate the directions of the rows used in animate background. For example having all the odd rows move left then all the evens move right. I just think it would be awesome for certain animations. @@MrAlexTech I haven't played with it yet, but is it always perfectly tesselated in the x- and y-axes? If the x and y could be separated, then having them go in different directions should be simple - just have two layers of it with a larger y separation.

I started using your magic Zoom last week and It's such a time saver! I edit a lot of clips that I want to make a bit more dynamic with zooms and the Davinci Dynamic zoom was a huge pain to use
Thanks for this tool. I used the paid version on a project a few weeks ago and it literally saved me 20+ hours over what I did on the previous project. Very cool. I didn't play with the backgrounds -- will definitely do that in the future. It might be cool to have a reflection added to the logos or backgrounds as an additional cool element. Happy Anniversary! This is an awesome tool. I wish the screen going black on polygon mask did not happen, because it limits your ability to do manual selections if you can't see what it is you're masking out. That severely limits its usage.

I know this won’t come as a Suprise, but this kit is really good. I downloaded the paid version when you released it, but have been busy with film editing and didn’t really use it on the odd projects I had with some composite work, I stayed in my comfort zone and built everything in fusion. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a new project with lots of composition, so instead of fusion I used the toolkit and it’s saved my a whole lot of time, so thank you Alex, it’s a great bunch of tools and very intuitive 😊

Bro your channel is absolutely awesome and a life saver. I do have 1 ask though. As a new Davinci resolve user, it would be great to see a video explaining all the different tabs/settings and an explanation of them. How did I not know there was a premium version?! Purchase complete. You are the MAN! Something I would love for you to create is a preset/plugin for.a slide in content panel. I'm talking about a panel that slides in from any direction that contains content. I'm thinking something like William Justice created. His free plugin is pretty buggy and not super flexible (although I appreciate it and it works okay). Just an idea for future development. Or maybe you can create a video to show how to do this manually without too much effort. Once again, you are the MAN, and I really appreciate everything you do.
I just realized that you can use a Whip Right or Left transition to do this on a Text+ clip. I'm trying to figure out how to put a border between, but I suppose I could just add a solid color below offset be a little bit and make a compound clip. If you have any tips on this @MrAlexTech, that would be AWESOME!

I noticed that the effects sometimes scramble if I have to move the clip up or down the timeline. I adjusted my workflow to limit the instances of that happening, but still just wanted to bring it up. Great tool though!! Still 100% happy with the efforts you've done to make Davinci better, you're doing a fantastic service for us. If you're on the fence, its worth it! :)
If it does something weird after moving it. Open the inspector, and click the bin icon within Magic Animate to delete it. Then hit undo. It'll put it back on, with exactly the same settings BUT it'll also recache it. Can quite often fix any weird buggies
I use magic animate in almost every video but I try to use it sparingly or at the end of my editing process because it really makes my computer chug in the timeline.
Yeaaah it can get chuggy. I'm the same, I use it at the end. It's pretty streamline in the backend (to my abilities...), I think I just got overly ambitious with what I wanted it to be able to do 😆 The auto disable does help massively though!

I'm changing my pc and I want to export/import my custom animations, I don't know if there's a button for that, if there isn't I don't know how hard it could be to implement it, but it would be really nice not to re-do my own animations.
nvm! I found it. For anyone with the same problem... here's the solution. While saving your presets, click on the button "browse". It will take you to your folder so just choose as many presets you want and just copy paste them.

Basically all updates to magic animate v3 will be included. As I get new ideas or improve things, they'll be included. When (if!) it gets to the point where I redesign it from the ground up as version 4, that will be a new thing so will be purchasable again. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to only make money once haha otherwise I would. I could have maybe done that but I'd have to charge a fair bit more for it. I think this is a good middle ground. Hope that makes sense!

So I have been enjoying the paid version for my projects. I did have some challenges with my latest project though as I usually have a saved Text+ with an applied MagicAnimate pop-in elastic curve for captions. And because it is a 20+ minute video with 4 talking heads, I had captions for each person. Said captions had of course multiple Text+ each with MagicAnimate on them. Even with Admin > disabling the un-needed items to speed it up, my export of the video crashes. Was it incorrect to use MagicAnimate this way on Text+ for captions?
Quick question, would it ever be possible to add sound effects to the animations along with them? So that people don't have to manually add them in along with the animations? If it is possible that would be AMAZING to see added to a toolkit like this. It would save loads of time and help creators tremendously imo. Either way the tool is so freaking cool and I know I can speak for everyone when I say that you are the BEST! haha cheers to you and your wife 🍻
@@MrAlexTechI want the zoomed-in image to follow a face as it moves around in the frame (like when you use dynamic zoom and then smart reframe). So what you mean is that I should smart reframe on the video itself and then apply magic zoom? Would it work even if the videio below the adjustment clip is not already cropped in?

I have also just bought Magic animate. this plugin is awsome. I want some updates in Magic animate if you are willing.. 1 Animated highlight inside the image eg. Newspaper slids to the middle of the screen and start highlighting the imp. sentence. 2 Animated box or circle inside the image eg. ( credit card )PNG image slids to the middle and shows animated box to the 16 digits numbers. 3 saving effects ,title in Custom location . I want to save the effects to my other drop down menu not on the Magicanimate. 4 adding image to effects ,titles and generators . I want to add image to the effects ,titles created with the magic animate plugin. I hope you will add this features in the future Thanks.

Hi Alex. When moving the position of an object (logo, for example) from the centre of the screen to one side, the shake tool centre point still stays centre to the screen and doesn't move with the object. Is there a way to move the centre point of the shake tool to the centre point of the moved object so that when applying a rotation-only shake, it shakes from its centre point and not the screen's centre point? Thanks!
Man. I took a lot of time to fiddle around with fusion so I can expose media-in nodes that I can use as a building block for my presentations where I can just swap out icons on the fly without rebuilding my animations. It works for me now but it is cumbersome. And you with that last bit completely and elegantly solved my problem. 😅 Also another thing. Do you have a solution to ease arrow or pointer movements without having to manually ease every key frame? I just want to move the playhead drag my arrow and be done.
Awesome video! Tutorial request: Can you make tutorial how to replace Burj Khalifa screen? :D I think it require some thin lines in fusion and somehow insert own video to those lines which represents of those Burj Khalifas ”LCD?” lines in the wall, so the building itself is visible between those thin screen lines. If somehow you can do tutorial, that would be niiiiice!
It works great for titles, but every time I load an image with the effect. It auto scales the image past the dimensions of the video. And when I zoom out via the effect option, the image comes out cropped. And none of the options on the media tab respond to any attempts to correct the cropping.
Video is not long. Actually its impormative. Now i know the reason why everytime im saving a preset davinci resolve automatic close its because of im not pressing the auto disable button 😅
For some reason I'm using the Whip animation and between the in and out animation there's a very noticeable jump in the location of the graphic I'm using. I've tried messing with the different in and out templates and none of them fix it, and I've messed with pretty much all of the settings within the Whip section. Nothing fixes the problem. Anyone have any suggestions?
Log into the website and then redownload the version that's available. Opening the DRFX file will overwrite the existing installation so you'll have the newest version
MrAlex, I have a problem with playback that I cant find the answer anywhere, in my desperate attempt to resolve this issue Ive resorted to spamming your comment section. In a new timeline I lay down an audio track, when I press play it pays at normal speed for about 5 seconds then speeds up to mayb3 1.25 times faster. I cant seem to find an answer to resolve this issue anywhere, please help
I think we need to see more tutorials on how to use this plugin. I use the magic zoom more coz i kind figure it fast. I bought the magoc animate but havent used it. I am yet to study it.
I have the premium version running on MacOS and I am struggling with the save feature. I can see the effects saving in the system directory in the right spot but the "4. User Presets" doesn't show up under "Effects" for me even after restarting. Has anyone else run into this on Mac?
How can you do Magic Zoom in Magic Animate? I can't figure out how to do zooms in and out of different parts of the screen like Magic Zoom can do. I notice Magic Zoom is gone from your website so is that functionality gone as well?
Holy feces, this tool is great. You did very well calling this MagicAnimate, because it seriously is magic. Also, you still have a Linux disclaimer on the product page. Is this just a precaution? Is there anything you know for sure doesn't work? Just the untested Saver tool? Did you need testers? I ask because I'd be using this exclusively on Linux. And I'm a developer, so I'm used to things being wonky and needing some work. Heck, I'm on Linux. So that's a given.

Do you know of a plugin that will simulate a walking path that works? like in harry potter and the magic map. where we could draw a line that would be the path and choose a style of foot (shoe), animal paws or other customization.

Hmmmmmmm. Possible I think! Would have to use some masks. I'll have a play. No guarantees though! No idea how I'd integrate it into the interface 😆

Invert the mask. There's a little tick box to invert it. Then you'll see everything, create your mask, then untick invert.

So I have been enjoying the paid version for my projects.
I did have some challenges with my latest project though as I usually have a saved Text+ with an applied MagicAnimate pop-in elastic curve for captions. And because it is a 20+ minute video with 4 talking heads, I had captions for each person. Said captions had of course multiple Text+ each with MagicAnimate on them. Even with Admin > disabling the un-needed items to speed it up, my export of the video crashes.
Was it incorrect to use MagicAnimate this way on Text+ for captions?

Quick question, would it ever be possible to add sound effects to the animations along with them? So that people don't have to manually add them in along with the animations? If it is possible that would be AMAZING to see added to a toolkit like this. It would save loads of time and help creators tremendously imo. Either way the tool is so freaking cool and I know I can speak for everyone when I say that you are the BEST! haha cheers to you and your wife 🍻
I use Magc Zoom all the freaking time! Can't wait for the update! (also, is there a way to use smart reframe with magic zoom?)
Ermmm depends how you want to use it etc. If you do the smart reframe, then do magic zoom on an adjustment clip then it should work pretty well.
@@MrAlexTechI want the zoomed-in image to follow a face as it moves around in the frame (like when you use dynamic zoom and then smart reframe). So what you mean is that I should smart reframe on the video itself and then apply magic zoom? Would it work even if the videio below the adjustment clip is not already cropped in?

1 Animated highlight inside the image eg. Newspaper slids to the middle of the screen and start highlighting the imp. sentence.
2 Animated box or circle inside the image eg. ( credit card )PNG image slids to the middle and shows animated box to the 16 digits numbers.
3 saving effects ,title in Custom location . I want to save the effects to my other drop down menu not on the Magicanimate.
4 adding image to effects ,titles and generators . I want to add image to the effects ,titles created with the magic animate plugin.
I hope you will add this features in the future

I really like the free version but I tend to use the transition only the most as it's not as hard on my system 😊

When moving the position of an object (logo, for example) from the centre of the screen to one side, the shake tool centre point still stays centre to the screen and doesn't move with the object. Is there a way to move the centre point of the shake tool to the centre point of the moved object so that when applying a rotation-only shake, it shakes from its centre point and not the screen's centre point?

Man. I took a lot of time to fiddle around with fusion so I can expose media-in nodes that I can use as a building block for my presentations where I can just swap out icons on the fly without rebuilding my animations.
It works for me now but it is cumbersome.
And you with that last bit completely and elegantly solved my problem. 😅
Also another thing. Do you have a solution to ease arrow or pointer movements without having to manually ease every key frame? I just want to move the playhead drag my arrow and be done.

Can you make tutorial how to replace Burj Khalifa screen? :D I think it require some thin lines in fusion and somehow insert own video to those lines which represents of those Burj Khalifas ”LCD?” lines in the wall, so the building itself is visible between those thin screen lines. If somehow you can do tutorial, that would be niiiiice!

It works great for titles, but every time I load an image with the effect. It auto scales the image past the dimensions of the video. And when I zoom out via the effect option, the image comes out cropped. And none of the options on the media tab respond to any attempts to correct the cropping.
Video is not long. Actually its impormative. Now i know the reason why everytime im saving a preset davinci resolve automatic close its because of im not pressing the auto disable button 😅
Very clever with the polygon masks. Do you know if we can easily morph between multiple polygon masks, or can this be done at all?
For some reason I'm using the Whip animation and between the in and out animation there's a very noticeable jump in the location of the graphic I'm using. I've tried messing with the different in and out templates and none of them fix it, and I've messed with pretty much all of the settings within the Whip section. Nothing fixes the problem. Anyone have any suggestions?
How do we update if we purchased it before? Just want to make sure I get the latest updates.
Log into the website and then redownload the version that's available. Opening the DRFX file will overwrite the existing installation so you'll have the newest version

MrAlex, I have a problem with playback that I cant find the answer anywhere, in my desperate attempt to resolve this issue Ive resorted to spamming your comment section. In a new timeline I lay down an audio track, when I press play it pays at normal speed for about 5 seconds then speeds up to mayb3 1.25 times faster. I cant seem to find an answer to resolve this issue anywhere, please help
I think we need to see more tutorials on how to use this plugin. I use the magic zoom more coz i kind figure it fast. I bought the magoc animate but havent used it. I am yet to study it.

I have the premium version running on MacOS and I am struggling with the save feature. I can see the effects saving in the system directory in the right spot but the "4. User Presets" doesn't show up under "Effects" for me even after restarting. Has anyone else run into this on Mac?
How can you do Magic Zoom in Magic Animate? I can't figure out how to do zooms in and out of different parts of the screen like Magic Zoom can do. I notice Magic Zoom is gone from your website so is that functionality gone as well?
Holy feces, this tool is great. You did very well calling this MagicAnimate, because it seriously is magic.
Also, you still have a Linux disclaimer on the product page. Is this just a precaution? Is there anything you know for sure doesn't work? Just the untested Saver tool? Did you need testers? I ask because I'd be using this exclusively on Linux. And I'm a developer, so I'm used to things being wonky and needing some work. Heck, I'm on Linux. So that's a given.
If you bought the premium magic animate, but you want to upgrade to the Studio version, will you have to repurchase or is it still useable?
