Godsend Cake
1 STRAWBERRY CAKE MIX
1 CUP SELF-RISING FLOUR
3 LARGE EGGS
3/4 CUP VEGETABLE OIL
8 OZ. CAN CRUSHED PINEAPPLE WITH JUICE 14 OZ. BAG SWEETENED FLAKED COCONUT
1/2 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
2 MEDIUM, RIPE BANANAS (MASHED)
1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
16 OZ. CONTAINER OF WHIPPED TOPPING
Add eggs and oil to the mixing bowl and mix on low. Add pineapple, bananas, and vanilla. Add cake mix
and flour and mix well. Add ½ cup coconut & pecans, mix well. Pour batter into 3 well-greased and floured
cake pans. Bake at 335 degrees for 40 minutes.
Toothpick should come out clean. Cook longer if needed. Cakes with fruit take more time to bake. Do
not open the oven and check until at least 30 minutes have passed.
Ice cake with whipped topping or fresh whipping cream. Cover cake with remaining coconut. Refrigerate Cake if whipping cream or whipped
topping is used.
For richer cake, ice with strawberry icing. Recipe on page 102.

I have to make that, minus the coconut for me. Me second wedding I had a devil's food cake with cream cheese frosting with banana slices in between the layers. The best cake I ever had. Maybe you should try that, Melaney from SoCal

I have already made your tuna salad recipe, and it is my go to. I tend to cook by recipe, because I learned to cook while growing up with my father. I just made a strawberry cake yesterday. I use 8” cake pans as well and sometimes mine wants to fall over. Do you recommend putting a plastic straw down in the middle of the cake to keep it from sliding? I used 2 box cake mixes. One white and one strawberry. I put 1/4 cup vanilla cake batter in each pan then 1/4 cup strawberry cake batter in each pan. Repeated until all the batter was gone. I did use cream cheese frosting with cut up freeze dried strawberries in it for in between the layers. It’s delicious but I have to try yours. Thank you for sharing another one of your delicious recipes. Love y’all ❤❤

Cake lookso good. What was the purpose of the cup of flour you added to the cake mixture.? I've never seen that before.
It allows More mix for a bigger cake
So if we want a smaller cake, leave out the flour?
