I love these buses and i always will. it sucks to see them retire. But these buses were great! I remember riding these buses on the b3 when i used to live near kings plaza. And i rember that these buses had the air starter that sounded wierd, but still sounded great! they will be missed.

Mine was the NABI 40 LFW
I was just 11 years old when you’re born, most of those Novabus RTS buses has that 80’s retro design same time I love them buses, since it’s now 2024 I hope most of them are not retired yet or probably are due to their age.
9140-9149 were delivered with the Cummins M11E Engine (Allison V731 Transmission).

8750-9139 & 9150-9348 were Originally powered by the Series 50 DDEC Engine (Allison V731 Transmission).
I saw the Fresh Pond Depot Review. Knuckles from The Super Subway Bros told me he thought taking an RTS with the M11E engine to Downtown Brooklyn on the B38 was the jump off. I even had a dream in which I was born in 1996 as well. In my dream, I got to see those buses not that long before the budget cuts in 2010. I bet that's why 9140-9149 are now gone.
Throughout the years, the 1996 Novabus RTS are sent to Queens Village, Jamaica, Manhattanville, Michael J Quil, East New York and Flatbush and Ulmer Park depots.

These are the 2003 Novabus RTS's. The first Novabus RTS's in NYCT These Units are arranged from 8750-9348.
bro very nice review i drive these buses every day ( m66 , m72 ) there are still (black rear engine vent cover buses in quill running to this day . ... out of the quill depo ....
also we met briefly the other day while you were filming the m57 ,m72 line ... (broadway and 72 street)
also keep up the good work .... and look into a 360 camera set up to get a better shot of the bus stops and buses etc

Man, I really miss em' now their gone, but I was fun while they lasted. Sadly I never took a video of them. But, I do have one pic of it on the B44. Anyways, this was a great review and thanks for making this as the 95'/96' RTS are my fav thanks for this.

I don't care for Orion VII NGs but I'll rather drive them over Xcelsiors because of course, I love Orions as much as RTS, Flxible Metros, GM Old-New Looks and MCI-GM Classics.

I wish these buses have 6v92 engine along with the following buses from 1997;1998;1999.
Bus 8797 was reconverted again and I always see it running in downtown Brooklyn. I Think it became a metrocard bus.

They stopped running in Jersey around 2013 NYC is the only city to have them today🤦♂️it kinda sucks bc I would ride it everyday to school

Ulmer Park actually received #9077-#9110. #9111-#9122 went to MCH
jfk bus depot still have a handful of these left. Jamaica depot was the last in nycta system to have these buses but they were all ready retired between march and April 2016

I very surprise that a few buses including 9114 is coming back to JFK depot from retirement. This is because the new flyer xd60 order is completed and jfk doesn't have any more or spare 40 foot standard buses. It looks like the running short on buses. I heard that spring creek depot have some hybrids from basily park depot. long lived the rts.
I heard that most of these 1996 RTS buses will remain in service until 2019-2020 be replaced by 53 articulated buses and 41 standard buses. Note see mta future fleet buses to see that
Is it possible you could do the 1999-2000 C40LFs? Sadly these were the first buses I saw come fresh into service and go into retirement. Although...the only thing close to seeing them again is the 1999-2001 C40LFs in Boston MBTA. Heck the two pilots (6000 & 6001) were built to NYC MTA specs!

yep they also had some 1998 c40lf buses but those have been retired. there are some 2002 and 2004 c40lf buses pierce transit still has and are not bad buses at all. i wonder when u can get around to the 1981 rts buses and even mention all the problems new york had with them since u mentioned in the 82 or 83 or 84 video where those buses addressed problems the 1981 buses had

Kal-El How about Eastchester depot? Because it’s MTA bus it does better good maintenance job in history of the world.
But I personally sent an email to the mta saying that if the Manhattanville depot got rts's and they told me they had none and also if you may which rts's did Manhattanville get back
+Ronny Gomez They were originally Loaners from Grand Avenue, Fresh Pond & East New York over the summer, but the only 4 that are still there are from Grand Avenue Depot, & Manhattanville is supposedly keeping them for a while.

Somebody told me that Manhattanville depot does not have any rts's and they are covered all with hybrids and Orion's which is sad. Also do you have info if Manhattanville has ordered new busses

@@kalelc1996 RTS 06 should have been sent to eastchester Depot part of MTA bus. They have better maintenance than LaGuardia Depot.

that was 2 months ago, but I recently saw one on the M4 a few days ago

One last question if u were to choose which depot was the best from these two Manhattanville or Michael J Quill which would u pick?

4:27 LaGuardia’s maintenance is still bad up till this day. In fact since they’re maintenance is so bad Next Gens from LaGuardia have to retire themselves

8750-9139 & 9150-9348 were later repowered with the 1st generation of the Cummins ISB 02 Engine (BAE System Hybridrive) in summer of 2011-early 2012.
And they are also features the Bus annunciators with 6 fare colors to know which MetroCard you have and they usually light up when you put one of the metrocard and quarters in the fare box. But Unfortunately before that, first They were starting to get repowered by the Cummins ISB 02 Engine, then they took all of those 6 color Bus annunciators down completely, and they are all gone just like the older MTA Bus Queens TMC & GMC RTS buses in one of the private line services and Bee Line too as well.
I'm so glad that they repowered those RTS's with the Cummins ISB 02 Engine, because the Series 50 Engine sounds like the 6V92 & Shit.
Well back when the were powered by the Series 50 Engine they can mostly whine just like the 6V92 Engine, they sounded like the older TMC, GMC RTS's, and the MCI Classics. Sounds like someone is crying, sounds like it's boring, sounds like a fucked vaccum cleaner can be fucked down.
These buses are build alot more base on NYCT Bus with black & rare configuration.
And I won't Forget Some buses were repainted to the black fronts inside and the white backs.
