Congratulations on your 190th anniversary, Martin. You continue to make truly fabulous guitars and you have a treasured history of American guitar making.
2:29, yup, but definitely sounds like Adirondack. Beautiful build, sound and as always, great demo Doc. Hey, Paul, thanks for lengthening these actual demos. Just glad all my funds are tied up!
So 190 years ago today! Great sounding D18+1. You can tell Paul is the Math guy. Pretty amazing what they do with that finish printer. Thanks, Paul, Quinton, and Chad.
That’s some guitar! I live about 100 miles from where C.F. Martin was born. And though I prefer Gibsons there is a liking for the brand and what’s behind that history that I’ll adore forever.
Correction needed for bridge string spacing. Martin website says 2 5/16”, not the 2 1/8” spec here. It would be really unusual to see 1 3/4” at the nut and 2 1/8 at the bridge.
Nice guitar and at $4,000 isn't as expensive as I was expecting this limited edition would be. However, still quite a bit more than a D-16 or D-18. Martin Guitars are alway much simpler looking than Gibsons; but they're just great instruments and they make a wide enough line that there is bound to be something that will fit everyone's musical tastes and budget.
agree with Paul, would be nice to see 3-4 of the martin strings compared to each other. i personally really like the Retro ones that came out a year or two ago (i think).
Honestly, thank you for the content and work you do. But is it me, or should these two be better at communicating with one another after all this time? It’s like listening to a guitar being played way out of rhythm.
Let's print Faux Mahogany spruce tops and charge 4k for them ...been going down hill for so long... Binding separation Gig bags instead of hard Cases Faux prints on admitted 2nd grade tops and let's charge folks 4k call it anniversary model...Martin is becoming another junk brand. The descriptions on there website are horrible know and very vague as well. Not selling my old Martin's but after my last binding separation fiasco on a Martin 2k Tenor I will never purchase a new Martin again.
I'd rather they not do a fake print on the top, so every D-19 looks the same... get two or more D-19's together and you have twins LOL...leave it as the naturally imperfect adirondack...I'll pass...especially for that ridiculous price.(Spoken as a dude who has many high end Martins)
@@mariodriessen9740 Exactly, why? They claim because of imperfections in the Adirondack top wood. I'd rather have a natural top that looks unique than one that matches all the other 189 guitars LOL
@@WysteriaGuitar : I saw that video and this is exactly what I wrote underneath it. I don’t mind these so called cosmetic imperfections. Let me put it this way: I’d rather date a real woman with some minor ‘imperfections’ than to go out with the absolute perfect woman printed on paper. 🥴
It's cute how Americans are so impressed by anything older than 100 years. We've got 500yo pubs and 1000yo universities, but, sure, a 190yo instrument maker is "unimaginable"🤦♂
Well yeah, it's a wooden instrument company. Not a lot of folks were going to universities but playing music, that's the backbone of everyday working class people. Pushing 2 hundred years is pretty good especially considering America has only been a country for a little under 2 and a half centuries.
Perhaps you should have spent time in the universities instead the pubs… then you may have studied why we kicked your arse in the Revolutionary War,(240 years ago),won our freedom, became a country independent of You, so that Mr. Martin could open his guitar company.
Love Martin and the history, but a “printed” mahogany photo over a spruce top? $4K? I’m sorry, I don’t get this one.
They're relying on the average I.Q. of the average Martin buyer, 80 or lower.
😂😂😂
Quenton talking about Paul's finger, "If you put it on there and left it, then uhh...we'd be talking to HR." 🤣😝🤣

Incredible guitar........incredible playing!

Very nice demo classic Martin vib when its broken in wow a tone machine!
Great guitar!

Could you guys do an in depth review of the Yamaha A3 or just the A series as a whole?

Nice.
I love it!
A beautiful guitar, and a very nice Adirondack and mahogany combination. I need time to buy into the new strings.
Thank you
Absolutely gorgeous guitar. I have an Alvarez AD66SHB that looks a little bit like this. It's not the same for sure.
No, your Alvarez is probably much better lol!
@estudiorudolpho My AD66SHB has a laminate back and sides, but with 3 plys of solid African mahogany.
Want one.
The top is actually a printed image of mahogany on top of some 'visually challenged' adi as Chris Martin put it.
They must be hoping prospective buyers are "mentally challenged" I would think.

Sounds weird! Tinny
My favorite part of the review was the "finger touching incident." The guitar, not so much.
Great guitar but $4000 is a big ask.
Why would I want a spruce top to look like mahogany? But it's a special edition, so it'll never be played again.
Lol 😆
Good one.
You would want that if you're a complete idiot.
Honestly, thank you for the content and work you do. But is it me, or should these two be better at communicating with one another after all this time? It’s like listening to a guitar being played way out of rhythm.
Woul've been nicer with a light amber 'burst on that Adi top , frankly !
Sounds too Bright
I agree. Not such a ‘Martin’ sound. But maybe the adirondack top needs to open up with time …?

Printed mahogany on red spruce
No thanks
I bet not one of those 190 guitars is a lefty!

Sounds pretty poor.. My yamaha ac3r licks it without effort brand over substance... Also why is 190 years a big deal... If I'm paying
why would you print mahogany on spruce
Not $4,000
it sounds choked,i don't like it.

Yet, everyone wants to come to the USA. Can you say the same about your country? 😂😂😂😂

So friggin tired of hearing all about the martin history. Yes we all know..
