You are the boss. Just keep in mind. You will never stop having problems with that unit. At some point the amount of time and money you put into it it will exceed the recommendation I'm sharing with you. The DCI block is superior to the Adec control block network in every way. I wish you the best and hope you find a solution to your problem. I will be curious to hear what it is but I'm expecting that the nickel coated brass blocks have begun to the laminate and water is bypassing in one way or another. The issue could also be a cracked bottle manifold as I mentioned earlier an easy way to check for this would be to disconnect the output line from your bottle and observe it spraying into a catch pan and see if there are bubbles in the water. If so, the manifold is your issue.

I've actually had Clippards do exactly what you initially suspected ! Had it leak air right past the o-rings in the plunger and just pump air into the water !

How do you change the diaphragm? My air/water syringe has air coming out with the water like this.

Unscrew the bottle... Check if you have a steri-straw water filter. If it becomes unscrewed, the water will spurt. Tighten the lure lock fitting and see if it improves

$100 Venmo to anyone who offers the correct solution to my problem before the service tech comes in on March 8th 2024.
I have a similar problem that I notice spurts of air in the water in both the syringe AND my high speed handpiece. I have a pressurized water bottle as my water supply. Because both of these things have spurty air in the water with occasional stoppages of water altogether, would this point to the water bottle as the culprit? I feel like I've tested everything and the problem still remains.

Take off your bottle and look at the straw. If you have a steri-straw, make sure that it is screwed on tight. Air can get in at a loose junction on the straw. Your straw may also be loose on the top where it connects to the barb. Replace the 1/4 poly tubing if this is the case. If this does not fix your problem, you may actually need that service tech.
If they bill by the hour, make sure you have a list of issues to fix. Especially air water syringes that shoot a little water out when the air button is pressed. 😎 Maximize the time you have them. Also make them check out your utility room to see if everything is OK. Good luck!

@@DentalEquipmentRepairChannel I have a steri-straw and I took the bottle off. The straw was screwed on pretty tight already. I gave it one more strong hand tightening and it moved a smidge. I will test that today while working. If the air clogs the water at any point today I will look a bit deeper a the straw where the top connects to the barb and replace the 1/4 poly tubing if necessary. Thanks for your reply. I'll report back after some regular usage.

After working on a few patients, my symptoms are still there.
      My main issues are:
      1. occasional air spitting from air-water syringe while only pressing water button
      2. occasionally the water stops completely from a-w syringe. When this happens I shoot out some air and go back and forth on the buttons for about 10 seconds - then back to normal.
      3. similar symptoms on the high speed handpiece. Occasionally water stops completely - as it builds up (somewhere) and then finally releases, there's a sudden big surge of water out of the handpiece for several seconds - not good for working on patients. I can get the water to run through the handpiece but it is erratic and not consistent or reliable.
So the problem remains. On the plus side, there's still a week before my service appointment so I am happy to try anything else out. This is a Adec Century Plus delivery unit. I have changed out the plastic seals between the blocks, the diaphragms on top of each block (4) and the cartridges on the bottom of the blocks. I have not yet tried replacing the 1/4" tubing line to the water bottle.

You have some issues inside the diaphragms of your unit. I would highly recommend upgrading your unit to a DCI century plus upgrade. Page 228. This is the best possible thing you can do. literature.dcionline.com/Parts-Catalog/228/
