I'm a long time Ubuntu user. In fact, I'm writing this from a *Dell Vostro* laptop running *Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS.* After installing a new SSD on this machine, wiping Windows and installing Ubuntu, I feel like the system has become more *"useful".* Everything feels fast. The command line on Linux is a gem. *JetBrains IDEs* that took around 1 minute on my Windows system takes only seconds to open on my Ubuntu. I'm a big fan of the *Yaru theme.* I might give Linux mint a try as I have heard people say it's a great distro too. Nice vid btw!

Awesome video again! I'll stay with mint for now, but gotta say Ubuntu is really looking nice nowadays.

Please research before switching. I'm researching mint tonight because I am seeing issues on my Ubuntu machine. Former Windows user trying to get into Linux here. Just clunky stuff. Software drivers. Wifi. Hard drive went bad or can't be read. Io errors. Could be my rig.

@@houseandhobby6971 if you are switching from windows and a first time user, I couldn’t recommend Mint enough.

This was a good video, came across me randomly. I don't personally use either anymore, though Mint was my baby's first into Linux and was responsible for helping me go Linux full-time lol I prefer rolling distros these days but love to see Mint and Ubuntu continuing to carry the torch for OOTB distros, they really do help create new Linux users. Subbing, love the content!

Glad you enjoyed! I really appreciate the sub. What two distros would you like to see next?

Good to be at the start. 😁
Edit: you know what you could do when you show things playing out on your screen? What others do too: zoom in, so that viewers see important details.

This was very informative. I really like Linux Mint it's been working very well on my Surface Laptop (yes lol). But I'm also very interested in Ubuntu, it looks more "up-to-date" than Mint.
    Thanks for sharing a comparison!

My Mint install uses 1.2 GB ram but Ubuntu running from USB was using almost 3GB of ram... Idk if it would use less ram if it were installed on the hard drive. 🤔

Linux Mint is better.... Ubuntu is not bad, but snap packages slows down everything.
