    Imprecise to use word fear a lot..Its an intellectual invitation to feel same again when you perform the technique be precise to use word like "Notice whats the feeling now" instead of saying what happens to fear..(NLP technique needs much precise statement when performed)

    • @DamonCart

      That's a really imprecise statement. Apparently you haven't learned the NLP language patterns of the Milton Model yet. NLP techniques do not necessarily need precise statements. In fact, sometimes the exact opposite is true. But feel free to try to teach me something here.

      Those are responses to fear. What comes before that that triggers the fear?

  • @BrighamYen
    @BrighamYen 7 лет назад +1

    I don't usually experience fear or anxiety thru visual images in my mind. what would NLP do for those kinds of fear?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  7 лет назад +2

      How do you experience fear? If you were to train me to experience fear the way you do, what would you tell me to see, hear, or feel?

    • @BrighamYen
      @BrighamYen 7 лет назад +2

      I do sometimes "see" vague images of what I fear, but it's definitely NOT as defined as I think others tend to have? Most of the time, my fears are just "feelings" and less about the imagery. I think that's why I have such a hard time doing the Rewind Phobia Technique from NLP because I have a hard time visualizing. Doesn't mean I can't imagine, but it's just usually not as "crystal clear" as I have been lead by NLP practitioners to believe everyone should be able to do.

    • @BrighamYen
      @BrighamYen 7 лет назад +2

      Also, to add, most of the times I have automatic negative thoughts of insecurity and worry that lead to anxiety. But it doesn't come with anything visual in my mind at all.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  7 лет назад +4

      You can't have a feeling (as in an internal evaluative feeling like fear or anxiety) without it being triggered by something you see, hear, feel (externally), smell, or taste. It's usually a sight or a sound and it can happen internally or externally. The image may be vague because it might be something auditory that's triggering the fear and anxiety like an internal voice. Or the image or images may be unconscious. You can make the images conscious if you trace the feeling to the image that triggers it.
      What happens right before you experience the feeling? If it's a sound or a voice, ask yourself what would it be like if the sound or voice was an image? If you want to use the Swish Pattern you can swish in the auditory representation but it's easier and more effective usually to swish using a visual because you can see more all at once. It's difficult to hear more than one sound or more than one voice. More than two or three is nearly impossible.

    • @BrighamYen
      @BrighamYen 7 лет назад +2

      I agree that I have visual imagery, but they're never that defined I guess. They're always quite vague and "unclear" if that makes any sense. Almost like if you covered your head with a black cloth and were barely able to see outside the black cloth because of the small spacing between the threading, if that makes any sense? It's not usually some super clear vivid image with color and detail.

    in that case i dont know what my triggers are in terms of pictures and sounds.
    My only anxiety comes when i have to (or think i have to) speak in front of a group of people, even to say my name. As soon as i see an email at work or someone tell me something is coming up i get whacked with the adrenaline and total fear of everyone seeing my anxiety as i get a shaky voice and hands, if my anxiety wasnt so external i wouldnt have it because i wouldnt care about it.
    But as far as images and colours, i have no idea? Help NLP Gym

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  7 лет назад +1

      Haha you said you don't know what pictures and sounds trigger your anxiety and then you go on to say when you think you will have to speak in front of a group you get anxious. You answered your own question. How are you thinking it? It has to come in the form of a visual or a sound or another sensory input. "As soon as I SEE (visual) and email at work or someone TELLS (audio) something is coming up I get WHACKED (kinesthetic) with adrenaline and total fear of everyone SEEING (visual) my anxiety as I get a shaky (kinesthetic) voice (audio) hands..."
      I doubt you were externally experiencing all that you described as you were typing it. It was happening internally. That's how you were able to access it and then describe it. Does this make sense?

    • @Xbot4Life
      @Xbot4Life 7 лет назад +1

      Lol yeah i did answer my question :p
      So my triggers are being or thinking ill be put in a position where my anxiety will be seen by all. Then to top it off the adrenaline that causes palpitations makes me think ill definitely mess up .
      I wasnt feeling it at all when i was typing this message, outside of the situation where i feel my anxiety will show to onlookers im totally fine. It sux because a long time ago i used to be able to read in front of my entire school but i made a mistake once and everyone laughed, it didnt bother me at the time but that was the last time i did such a thing and ive not been able to do it since.
      I really really need to sort this out because its getting in the way of my career.

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  7 лет назад +1

      It would take recoding your experience, which could be quick and easy if the source of what's creating the problem is easy to identify and recode. Sometimes it can take a while though because finding the source can sometime be like trying to get your hands around a slippery fish.
      I suggest you throw every technique I demonstrate in my videos at it to see what works. The other thing you could do is find someone who is proficient at NLP and have them work on this with you. I do coaching. If you're interested send me an email damon@nlp-gym.com

    My apology in advance because I don't know a proper place to ask my questions and I am anxious. My son suffers from mania, when he is in high mood he acts very excitedly, speaks a lot and laugh to the extend that make people feel weird. Could you please tell me NLP's view of the inner stucture of this illness and possible approaches to deal with the illness?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  4 года назад +1

      I understand your concern. I'm not a therapist but I can tell you what I think happens when people are manic. The primary NLP model I use to coach and teach is the Self-Concept Model created by Steve Andreas who mentored me. You can find an online copy of his book at selfconcept.com titled Transforming Your Self. In the Self-concept Model we break down the self-concept (or identity) into qualities. What we find in the databases of our experiences, which we create to categorize our experiences into qualities, is that the more our databases of experience are integrated with our imperfections and shortcomings the more grounded we become and the stronger our sense of self becomes. When people separate their databases of experiences into "good" and "bad" experiences, they tend to bounce from one end of a polarity to the next. They experience euphoric highs and then fall into crushing lows. If a person who is manic can learn to integrate their databases, it might stabilize them. I know that this sounds complicated. It's actually not that difficult but there are a lot of parts and details to it. I hope that helps.

    So this is just a basic visualisation ?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  5 лет назад +1

      Yes and it's also about understanding how the feelings are occurring in your body. When you bring your awareness to it, you can change it. If you can experiment with changing a warm feeling into a cool feeling or changing the direction of the movement of the feeling in your body, you have control over the feeling.
