    Well done man! I really have enjoyed all of your videos. There are a lot of people out there that teach or do Pantera covers but a lot of them lack the life in the notes if you know what I mean. You really nailed it!
    I just got my first Dean (dimebolt) about 2 weeks ago and I just got my Randall 1503 C in today and all I can say is wow.
    I’m hoping to build my own dime replica out of a the Dean Trans Brazilia similiar to how you did on your other video.
    Also I’m certain that if you did some teaching videos breaking down some of this stuff people would love it(myself included!) thanks man!

      Thanks so much! That guitar and amp combo are fantastic. Teaching videos would be cool, but I'd rather teach one on one lessons as of right now instead of making teaching videos. Could be something to consider in the future though!

    Nice cover, sounds great. What gauge strings are on it? I have two MLs setup in D standard 425Hz, one with 10-52 and one with 10-46. I go back and forth on which gauge I like more.

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  Год назад

      Thanks! 9-42 in C# standard 425hz. Dime used 9-46 though.

    • @SGavin
      @SGavin Год назад

      @Eric Morettin They must feel pretty slinky at that tuning, my DFH is in E standard 425Hz and it's strung with 9-42 and those feel just right as far as tension and bending. I ordered a custom set from Stringjoy to try out that according to their calculator should have the same tension as the 9-42 on my DFH but at D standard, it was a 10-48 setup.

      @Eric Morettin Also, forgot to ask for your take on the neck feel difference between the D3 V neck and the Dean V neck? If I remember right, the D3 has a slimmer V neck than the ones on my Chinese and Indian MLs.

  • @ToddGillespie1977
    @ToddGillespie1977 Год назад

    Dude I’ve got to ask, when you play the Pantera songs that are in this tuning, do you go 9-46 like Dime did early or beef them up more? I have to keep one guitar for his riffs and another set loose with 9-46 for the solos lol help

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  Год назад

      Hey! This song was tracked with 9-42 gauge in C# standard 450hz. You have to adjust your playing for this light of strings in this tuning. 10-46 is also good in this tuning

    I wonder if they got the name 'The Great Southern Trendkill' from Dickey Betts' band, 'Great Southern'. Or even if they just subconsciously heard the band name mentioned somewhere and it stuck in their head, and they didn't know who to attribute it to, or even that someone else came up with the name before they did.

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  Год назад

      Who knows! I'm sure Rex, Phil, and maybe Grady could shine light on where the name came from!

    Great, but shouldn't the riffing guitar be louder in the mix? I hear the drums so much and that well played guitar is like behind, except the solo.

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  Год назад +1

      Everyone's mix will be different, and I'm not a pro mixer. It sounded good to me when I listened to it a few times back. As they say, "art is never finished".

    I kinda like this drum sound more then the boomy original track. Anyways this is maybe the best Pantera cover I've seen. Everything sounded so tight and the guitar was amazing instead of the usually over bearing over distorted tones you hear in dimebag covers. Incredible all around.
