Been looking for a video describing this method for a bit. Always looking for a new skill to acquire. I have been told putting zippers in can be difficult. This seemed very easy. Thank you! I liked that you spent your video going over each step of installation. It was nice that you didn’t spend too much time going over details like thread and so on. As someone who has a bit of knowledge of sewing I find videos with these details a bit long. You did great getting to the point in your video, I appreciate that. I have spent a lot time viewing videos that were not helpful because they took to long to show the method. Keep on doing what you are doing! You are a good teacher!

This was a timely life saver!!! I usually do children’s fashion but my daughter tasked me to create a dress for a social occasion with a picture and with no real pattern a formal dress so once I got the muslin finished I realized this was one task I’d never done in over 40 years of sewing. This was a rescue for me thanks for your sharing. Always something new to learn in sewing

Thank you! I had great difficulty finding information on how to add a zipper where no seam already existed. This was very helpful, and I will be returning to your site for more tips and explanations, since I am not a sewing expert.

    Hi Savi,
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've drafted my own pattern for a special project and would say I'm slightly ahead than a complete beginner but I was completely stumped when I got to adding a closed-end zipper into my project piece and all of the RUclips tutorials that I found were tutorials with centre-back seams or something which wasn't helpful. Then I found your tutorial which has explained everything so simply and so clearly! Thank you! Will definitely be subscribing and watching more of your other videos! #Thankyou from South Africa!

Hi, I am new to sewing as a self taught. My mother sew or makes clothes but it never interest me then. As a beginner I wasted a lot of material but I buy cheap cheap material to work with. I was just going on RUclips to type in how to do pipping and I came to watch your videos. It is vey interesting to me and I say I have made a lot of mistakes and still making mistakes. But I eager to learn and watching your video corrects many mistakes I had made but it is still a struggle for me because I am new at this. I enjoy your video and it does help me even tho it takes me a long while to put together a shirt or dress. Thank you for your time to read this

Savitha, its my first comment ever on youtube. I am glad that its for you.
I am trying to stitch a dress for my niece. Never done it before and had no idea how to insert the zip without a seam. My mum had explained on the phone to me about attaching the zip with an extra fabric to the dress. Couldn't understand a bit and there you made it so easy.
    Thanks a lot.
