9/11 FDNY fire house tour

On September 11th, 2015, I made a goal to go to a handful of FDNY fire houses to give thanks for everything the firefighters do, as well as to just be able to see a different house and see how things are run in each house. While I personally didn't lose any friends or family in the horrific events of 9/11, I know plenty of people who did lose someone. This tribute, while small, hopefully left a mark with those houses that I visited. I started at The Gun Hill Gang of Engine 62 and Ladder 32 at 3431 White Plains Road in the Bronx. Engine 62 is a 2003 Seagrave Marauder. Ladder 32 i a 2011 Ferrara Ultra with a 100 foot rear mount aerial. Next up, we come to Queens, where we see the Hillside Hurricanes of Engine 298, Tower Ladder 127, and Battalion 50, located at 153-11 Hillside Avenue. While there, Engine 298 went out on an EMS run to Box 9820 at 87-60 Sutphin Boulevard for a sick person at Popeye's. I am unsure of what happened to the person, but the engine returned shortly after being toned out. Engine 298 is a 2012 Seagrave Marauder II. Tower Ladder 127 is a 2006 Seagrave with a 75 foot Aerialscope. Battalion 50 is a 2009 GMC 2500HD pickup truck. We stay in Queens in the next scene, where we visit the Princeton Street Tigers of Engine 303 and Ladder 126 located at 104-12 Princeton Street. While at the house, Engine 303 got called out on an EMS run to Box 8818 at 105-39 134th Street for an unconscious person. Engine 303 is a brand new 2016 KME Severe Service pumper. Ladder 126 was using a spare Seagrave. Next, we head to Brooklyn, where we see Engine 219 and Tower Ladder 105 at 494 Dean Street. Engine 219 is a 2015 KME Severe Service pumper. Tower Ladder 105 is a 2014 Seagrave with a 75 foot Aerialscope. The last house we see is the SoHo Trucking Company of Tiller Ladder 20, which is housed with Division 1 at 251 Lafayette Street in Manhattan. As it would turn out, Ladder 20 had an acting ladder in its place, in the form of Ladder 148 out of Brooklyn. This was most likely due to the fact that the San Gennaro Festival was going on, and Ladder 20 was asked to stay close to home. Ladder 148 gets called for an odor of gas at 2nd Avenue near 12th Street. Ladder 148 is a 2006 Seagrave with a 100 foot rear mount aerial. Tiller Ladder 20 is a 2014 Seagrave with a 100 foot rear mount, tractor drawn aerial. Division 1 was out on an administrative run. I saw this as a fitting tribute to the men and women of the FDNY, as well as all other public services in the city. If it weren't for them, where would the city be in a time of need?
