It's always interesting to see how these things are made. The fact that they hand paint the casings and put so much detail into everything including the PCB inside really puts the boutique pricing into perspective. The pedal you made looks and sounds amazing!

This is amazing! So cool that you got to build your own custom color Sea Bee!! Funny timing that this just came out... 1) I've been looking for a stereo chorus that does it for me for a while, and 2) the high school I went to was the Zee Bees, based on the US Navy group called the Sea Bees 😂

@@emilyharpist Thank you! If I don't win, maybe I'll buy one anyways! It would be my first Beetronics pedal. I've never usually gotten along with chorus, as they've always sounded so sterile, and unlike the albums and songs where I like the way that chorus sounds. I was recommended to try one in stereo, and I've been wanting an EQD Pyramids for a while, but maybe it's fate that they haven't been able to make them (due to a chip shortage)!! Maybe the Sea Bee is for me!

The plate design has a cool old world/avant garde/comic book vibe that is so original, especially combined with the custom paint. It's art that makes art! (They also remind me of the Sesame Street 12 pinball animation. ...which might be why the resonate with me.)

Art -Deco- Nouveau
@@aestevalis0 I don't think the era they are emulating is quite as modern as art deco. I'd say it is the same era as Art Nouveau, but without the organic emphasis. Art Nouveau was a movement characterised by an idealisation of the distant past and pre industry. This has an industrial feel as well as being quite grand and flamboyant. Definitely Victorian or immediately post Victorian. It has a similar feel to the sort of type face and advertising used for travelling circuses etc but I think it was unlikely to be associated solely with that industry. I wish I knew the proper label, but it is definitely pre art deco.
Maybe they are Art Nouveau? It's certainly the correct period, but it seems specific to popular art and advertising at the time, and not like Mucha's work or someone like that.
Anyway i'd say late 19th Century or pre 1920 20th Century. Movements don't exactly have clear cut offs and merge a bit, but to me this has too much detail and not the sleek almost aerodynamic obsession with clean lines that begins in the 1920s.
Honestly they should make the bottom cover see through, that way the nice design of the board can 🐝 seen

It sure can. In fact its really amazing on bass! Has a bunch of options to filter the wet signal so it can really cut through on bass. It also can be used with active pickups as it has an input level selector for that. 🐝👊

@@emilyharpist yes! I really like it! It was the 1st pedal I bought and wasn't disappointed. However, i've recently (after about 15 years) rediscovered my old pedals. My old Zoom 509 has become one of my staples for my work. Used to be disappointed in it.😅

Can I just say, this is the coolest thing ever in terms of what a company pedal can do. Aside from the insane, stupendous, and majestic sounds these pedals offer this really makes this pedal feel like a personal instrument - I'm a big fan of mods and aesthetic changes to give instruments personality, and this, this just hits the spot.
Great color choice by the way, ended up being a very pretty super hero esque theme.
If the guys from bee tronics read this, the color pallete on those things are genuinely fantastic (I have plenty of experience picking way worst swatches for all kinds of art) - whoever did the color swatching did a phenomenal job. The art is also exceptionally well done, it feels incredibely proffesional while retaining the insane, psychadelic vibes at full throttle, I love this.
Gonna need some bees now...

I felt MUCH better about my color choices once I started to see the finished product -- I usually can't tell the difference between blue and "royal blue", or white and "eggshell"... so color palettes usually stress me out 😂 there really is an incredibly amazing team of worker bees over in that hive!!! ❤️🐝

Just the normal Seabee looked really cool and unique. I had no idea they make freaking CUSTOM DESIGNS that's for pedals. I didn't even they did stuff like that. They're all so freaking pretty~
The fact that their PCB is even custom made with the honey comb pattern speaks volumes bout their dedication. Beetronics and Chase Bliss are probably my favorite pedal companies now cause of how small, cozy, and dedicated the teams are. I'm very glad I was able to find your channel, since that's what lead me down the pedal rabbit hole in the first place \uwu/
