Ive definitely noticed more birds in our garden since ive planted Alder trees. I just planted the trees because our ground is so boggy. It's good to know about its usefulness for birds!❤

Brilliant series. Very well done Donegal CC. Really comprehensive description covering the propagation, characteristics, utility and uses. Just what I needed, many thanks to Aengus Kennedy.

I planted my second Alder sapling this year today. Thanks for telling me they like lots of water. Lovely tree.

The alder cones can be used to disinfect things. Place them into a muslin bag and make an infusion. Into the rich brown water you can place dishcloths etc. to be ridden of germs.
