Konstantin is a voice of reason. Seeing the Good Morning Britain hosts malfunctioning, when Konstantin told them that he was still Russian despite living in London 😂😂😂😂 Priceless
Bebop - it seemed to me to gain prominence around the same time that immigration levels rocketed in the early 2000's along with political correctness - which I associate with Blair's time in government. I think as more and more mosques appeared on UK streets and the Muslim Council of Britain gained more and more influence on UK politics / policing, Islamophobia (ridiculous concept) became the Hate Speech buzzword. I think it was the media's obsession with 'Islamophobia' that really accelerated Hate Speech, Hate Speech was gradually attributed to any criticism of leftist ideology . And yes - you are correct - the leftists have taken over, well, nearly. They have inveigled themselves into positions of power and influence throughout the UK - especially universities, education, social services, the arts, the police, mainstream media. Combined with Big Tech Oligarchs - Facebook, Google, RUclips de-platforming and silencing any opinions that don't follow a left narrative, western civilisation is indeed in trouble. We need a government who will repeal the Hate Speech laws - that will go a long way to stop the left from gaining total power. Without the censorship and shutting down of debate that Hate Speech enables, the left is useless - it can't defend itself with reasoned argument / debate.
@Bebop I think 'hate speech' also developed as a concept as social media became more pervasive. Suddenly it was possible for anyone to publish something which could have not just a national but a global audience, which meant that the previous 'gatekeepers' lost control and thus had to promote the idea of 'hate speech' in order to prevent 'wrongthink' from spreading.
“Islamophobia: a word created by fascists, & used by cowards, to manipulate morons.” ~ Andrew Cummins (but made famous by the inimitable, Christopher Hitchens).
There is plenty of common themes with extreme interpretations of Islam and fascist beliefs, Farrakhan (however you spell his name) called Hitler a great man, and I’m pretty sure islamofascism is a term that exists....
Konstantin is such a a good communicator. He is so efficient with his delivery compared to most other people (where about 50% of what they say is just waffle and filler while they stumble around trying to get to the point). He manages to convey ideas succinctly, and he knows exactly how deep to delve into a topic depending on whatever the particular time constraints are of the programme that he's on. It's really skilful.
Oh God this is so refreshing and wonderful to listen to. It does actually give me hope that we are not going to sink into the Marxist utopia after all.
Another very interesting interview with some well founded arguments. Peter actually lets his guest speak without trying to constantly butt in and swing the spotlight back onto himself (unless there is a truely good reason e.g. some further key point to be drawn out at that moment). You will not see interviews like this on the BBC. Very well conducted. Keep up the good work Peter.
Love this guy, Konstantin, and Peter as well. He is just different, perhaps it's because of his background and the understanding how important freedom, or freedom of speech is to those who value it.
I am genuinely impressed with manner of interview, loving the way you gently probe with questions to bring the best out of your guests - not unlike Triggernometry. You have gained a new subscriber.
Another great interview, will look out for Konstantin. Surprised he's a remainer though, given the structural and other similarities between the EU and the USSR. The few Brits (2) of Russian origin that I know are active Brexiteers.
Who would of thought that back in the dark ages (15 years ago) you went to Uni to just to "learn stuff" obviously they're meant to exist for social engineering!...…….I really wish this was Hyperbole!!
I used to love the Labour Party. I used to love the fight against social injustice. I used to love the Guardian. I loved the BBC. Now...oh eck! What happened to ‘I disagree with you but defend your right to say it.’ My Dad was a gunner on Atlantic convoys. I asked him what he fought for in the war? He replied ‘free speech’ Now I can’t read the Guardian. I seldom watch the BBC. Why? Where is truth in all this? Where is objective reporting? Where are the missing articles that point to what is right and what is wrong? I now live in a dilemma. I love Europe and it’s peoples but think borders need policing. I want equality for all but not the bending of the truth. I want respect for people being interviewed. Challenge yes but don’t put words in their mouth. Now I watch New Media And live with the dilemmas and complexity of life. And In my strive for ‘authenticity’ I forgo the old politics and avoid the new left
I disagree. People are generally angry and jump on any socially acceptable target to vent their spleen. Also by calling others racists or bigots they are in fact projecting their own subconscious shortcomings outwards in a pathetic act of denial.
Claiming hate speech is an easy way of stifling debate and avoid having to put together a considered defence, by labelling legitimate criticism as a phobia or hate speech. This is generally practiced by the virtue signalling moral high ground occupying, 'those who shout the loudest' mob, who use this tactic either through being lazy or not having the facts to argue their case properly. The first casualty of this cultural Marxism is comedy, in particular, satire. I totally ignore it, which makes me a fascist, anti-semitic, racist, transphobic, xenophobic, *phobic, *phobic, *phobic (*add your own label here.). The cognitive dissonance of watching a left-leaning virtual signal anti-fascist grappling with the hyperbole of good satirical humour is the funniest thing in today's younger society.
I am one of those who used to stoutly defend the BBC, that is until the day after the Brexit vote my eyes were opened. I almost have a sense of mourning for what we have lost. The ideology Konstantin is talking about permeates every aspect of any news or current affairs output on the channel. I now am left feeling angry and betrayed at the contempt with which they regard at least half the population of our country and for the principles enshrined in their own charter. I now make it my purpose to open as many other eyes as I can. I am off now to meditate for a while to bring my blood down to a less dangerous temperature. I think Peter has found his vocation and in a long lost world his talents as an interviewer might have been picked up by well, the BBC or other such outlet. We all know, however, that there is fat chance of that happening.
Konstantin is a legend!! The reason why tv drama does not get the same flack as comedy is because the rest of tv has gone down the woke path. That is why so many people prefer subscription services. As for John Cleese's comment about London, i got told the same thing by a Romanian migrant in 2014. He told me that "you have lost London, it is not a British city anymore".
That's right, 2bye2. As Broonzied said, we've already interviewed Lionel. In fact it's a 2 parter. Here's Part One: ruclips.net/video/HS33UnCDhow/видео.html
Excellent discussion; very insightful and interesting. One small observation though: late on in the video - around 26.10 - Konstantin mentions how the breakfast show he's appeared on (Good Morning Britain) disable the comments on their RUclips clips. He goes on to say that the 'like' to 'dislike' ratio tells us why. This doesn't make sense to me, not least because as far as I can tell they routinely disable the comments on all their output. Or am I missing something?
It should be pointed out those 400 arrested in Russia were people calling for direct violence and this included death threats. In contrast the Uk's 3000 people only a handful were as a direct result of calling for violence.
People keep referencing Orwell but we are really moving into a Kafkaesque nightmare. By the way, is him quoting Dr Martin Luther King Jr, cultural appropriation?
Whilst the systematic curtailing of hard-earned civil liberties in the West has been a decades-long endeavour it is abundantly clear that the internet - and specifically the infectious proliferation of social media, has _accelerated_ this erosion exponentially. In my more naive, halcyon youth I used to be very much opposed to demands to curtail the scope of private enterprise and/or wealth of successful entrepreneurs. But in this sobering age of behemoth-like tech companies and their multi, multi billionaire founders/owners actively trying to forge, dissuade or else manipulate public opinion/discourse, I have long since reevaluated that belief. ANY action that finally breaks Facebook, Twitter's (and to a lesser extent the BBC) et al _Brobdingnagian_ (and frequently abused) power is to be welcomed!
Listened to the new Radio 4 Comedy Lobby Land in the Friday 6pm comedy slot. It’s a classic example of the “please clap” comedy Konstantin talks about.
I'm screwed, I'm always honest and speak as I find. I cannot accept the idea of more than 2 genders, I'm bi, a tom boy, a-sexual.......labels - fine. These are personality and sexuality types. Not genders. Equal rights should never involve segregation, I probably have high testosterone levels but I would be insulted if this classified me as a man in sports! Black people are more likely to win sports but you would never consider having a separate section for them. I'm pretty sure these views are unacceptable yet to me this is reality and that is something I could never turn my back on.
Citizens may be called for Jury Duty - if you aren't prepared to have a person judge you over a serious crime then they are not fit to be a citizen. A UK citizen must speak english and be competent to understand and administer English Justice.
Wow Triggernometry on NCF what a treat! The radio show where Konstantin is called Alt-right is a classic ‘culture war’ moment and well worth a listen if you missed it : ruclips.net/video/G7eRFm6Oo8s/видео.html
Who better to point out the value of free speech than someone who was born in the USSR! Please clap comedy can't be right as clapping is a microaggression!
A woke person would define it as "being alert to social injustice." I suspect the majority of the Great British Public would use the Urban Dictionary definition of woke: "The act of being very pretentious about how much you care about a social issue."
Thank you for your reply which makes the meaning clear. It is a term that seems to have exploded into social media in the last 12 months. The Urban Dictionary definition makes sense.

@Nojisucram NRA Enjoyed your interview with Douglas Murray.
Konstantin is a voice of reason. Seeing the Good Morning Britain hosts malfunctioning, when Konstantin told them that he was still Russian despite living in London 😂😂😂😂
Priceless
Hate speech is the modern day blasphemy; It requires no evidence, and denial of, or questioning of it only proves a persons guilt.
Nemesis - yes, absolutely, and it was around the time of the introduction of that ridiculous word 'Islamophobia' that Hate Speech gained momentum.
Bebop - it seemed to me to gain prominence around the same time that immigration levels rocketed in the early 2000's along with political correctness - which I associate with Blair's time in government. Nemesis 666 it comes from stalinism
Great interview. These days watching or listening to the BBC should be a crime lol! Keep up the good work.
“Islamophobia: a word created by fascists, & used by cowards, to manipulate morons.” ~ Andrew Cummins (but made famous by the inimitable, Christopher Hitchens).
@Ian McNally Well said
@Ian McNally hope you're joking mate.
"Islamaphobia" A word that was conceived and created by Islamic terrorists and imams to stop all dissent about Islam, Christopher Hitchens was Wrong
There is plenty of common themes with extreme interpretations of Islam and fascist beliefs, Farrakhan (however you spell his name) called Hitler a great man, and I’m pretty sure islamofascism is a term that exists....
@@davebrennan1509 I thought the statement implied that the terrorists and imams were the fascists.
Peter you have such a light touch which is great. Your subjects seem to enjoy themselves without going off topic. Bravo.
Excellent interview. Big fan of Konstantin, despite him being a Remainer. ;-) Thanks for having him on.

Really interesting and bright guy .......very good interview D.Mullins
I use to be a believer in the BBC, not any more.
The BBC has changed. Like many of our other institutions it's been taken over by Leftism.
Biased Broadcasting Corporation

I think they do....
Fabulous, two of my favourite social commentators together.
Great interview.Great guest!

Great show sir! thank you for having Konstantin on
I think I can best illustrate how Konstantine resonates with his eloquent common sense and calm is that he never seems to be on long enough.
Fantastic interview.. loved it.
I disagree. People are generally angry and jump on any socially acceptable target to vent their spleen.
Also by calling others racists or bigots they are in fact projecting their own subconscious shortcomings outwards in a pathetic act of denial.

We need more comedians like Konstantin !!

Wonderful chat with Konstantinos Kissin
I love him as co host of Triggernometry ❤️
Great conversation!! Please invite Lionel shrivers! Please!!!

Shhhuuuuussssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh!
That's my impression of a feminist.
Not enough screaming through megaphones and crocodile tear lawsuits
The censorship is so insidious, self censorship is becoming the horrifying norm. Speak up people!
22:00 There's some cross-over between russian and english humour in russian literature. Gogol, for instance, is very funny.

The BBC at least in iran and north koria the properganda is free, !!!
I’m so proud of KK ✨🌞🫖👋
Great guy, check out his stand up, hilarious
listening to the BBC when it wasn't communist
Great point about the inability to comment on the MSM interviews...thing is,you ALWAYS know which ones they are, before even scrolling down...cowards !
Criticizing 'hate-speech' laws whilst showing support for the concept of 'anti-Semitism'?
I don't get it.
This fellow gives hope. He's on the ball with his thoughts. I believe good/accurate philosopers usually use comedy to make their point.
Remember all those famous communist comedians in Soviet Russia and Maos China...oh wait.
I thought people were always making jokes about Jeremy Corbin.
Next gig Labour Party conference

Well the irony isn't lost on me watching this now, turns out some speech doesn't fall under free speech for the Kon man here.
Exile was punishment?
Listened to the new Radio 4 Comedy Lobby Land in the Friday 6pm comedy slot. It’s a classic example of the “please clap” comedy Konstantin talks about.
I wonder how the British establishment feels about their country being compared to communist Russia. Utterly embarrassed I hope.
Such an ignorant bigot that guy is. Only jesting Constantine. Love it. Best two shows on the web the two are
I'm screwed, I'm always honest and speak as I find. I cannot accept the idea of more than 2 genders, I'm bi, a tom boy, a-sexual.......labels - fine. These are personality and sexuality types. Billy Connolly was lucky that his career was started when it did, otherwise he would be arrested by now.

Interesting that he notes gmb disables the comments.
I've noticed RUclips has disabled the dislike bottom on comments.

Personally I think it's quite simple to make fun of political correctness.
We all know what's behind this suppression, but no one has the guts to say.
Who better to point out the value of free speech than someone who was born in the USSR!
Please clap comedy can't be right as clapping is a microaggression!
BBC 'comedy' these days is about as funny as a hip transplant.
Funny!
Funny!
Please define "Woke" What does it mean?
A woke person would define it as "being alert to social injustice." I suspect the majority of the Great British Public would use the Urban Dictionary definition of woke: "The act of being very pretentious about how much you care about a social issue."

It mean on board with the social justice agenda.
Did they have antisemitism on that list?
KK: Identity politics is ridiculous.
Also KK: I won Jewish Comedian of the Year.
Best to stand up on stage and say nothing, then your jokes will not offend anyone.
Good morning Britain turn off the comment secction to ALL their vids. Not just yours. Your sounding paranoid. Or you're plain lying.
The pc-system is slowly moving towards comedy being illegal.
Comedian ???? Not really.
