I simply cannot thank you enough for this channel! Most only tell what veggies and meats are approved to eat and not how to cook or what to make with those veggies. I have bought renal diet cookbooks and it was a waste of money as the recipes were too expensive and looked unappetizing. I've only watched 3 of your videos so far and I subscribed and look forward to making recipes! Thank you! I love that you don't waste time with a lot of banter but merely show how to cook your recipe! Your channel is awesome and I look forward to binge watching, copying recipes and making your lovely dishes and desserts! May God bless you always, in all ways!
Yes, absolutely! We suggest replacing the 1/2 cup tomatoes with 1/2 cup of roasted red peppers to keep the recipe balanced with the other ingredients. Bon appétit and thanks for watching 😊Please see the recipes on our website with detailed nutrition facts including potassium and phosphorus for each recipe. www.myspiceitup.ca
So sad that negative people simply do not realize that they can take a recipe and tweak it to make it more suitable for themselves. Tomatoes are allowed IF you can control yourself to very small portion and stay WITHIN the limits! Just like they say fresh spinach is okay to consume but not cooked, it is because a 1/4 cup of fresh spinach is not nearly as much spinach as 1/4 cup cooked/wilted spinach. But please keep looking and GOOD LUCK finding yummy recipes that meet your demands. IF you were to go to the recipe the alternatives are explained

Cherry tomatoes are on the list given to me by the dietician for us to use as a guide. I often substitute regular tomatoes for cherry tomatoes.
Mmmhh yummy

Roasted red peppers instead
Also blend in eggplant too
Yum yum
I’m on low potassium low or no sodium.
Any alternative for basil leave
Hi! Difficult to replace fresh basil. You can just leave it out. Or try fresh parsley?
Looking make a sauce for severe kidney failure. Would this still be good without tomatoes?

Is basil important in this recipe? I don't quite have it right now 😐
Hi! Do you have dry basil? You can use 1 tbs Dry basil. Or none at all! Enjoy!
I need a red pepper sauce minus tomatoes
Red pepper sauce shouldn’t gave tomatoes .
Just leave out the tomatoes
The purpose of a red bell pepper sauce is to take the place of tomato sauce.
Onions are high in phosphorus 😢
Sounded good... until tomatoes. BTW, tomatoes are nowhere near low potassium. I'll keep looking ...
Hi! You can just omit the tomatoes-it is a very small amount. It just gives a bit of a kick to the taste. Happy cooking!
