- In this video, I take a deep look into some of the defunct past rides of Adventure Island, in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, UK.
This park has always been my local amusement park and therefore has always had a special place in my heart, so it made sense to make this video on some of the rides you may not be aware even existed. The idea for this video was kindly requested by Josh, and it has taken me many months to make this video, but here it is finally!

It was called beezly bobs. Also the devils mines used the old beezly bobs statues. It was actually just a western mine cart ride before that
Does anyone here remember the original fireball? Swear only lasted at the park couple years but the experience it provided was so unique.

It was a zierer hexantanz (manufacturer name) I remember that, it was very big, it wasn't there for long tho :(

I distinctly remember a walk through ride on a ship with illusions like a lady facing a mirror who turned around and was scary and a disappearing mermaid. Also at Clacton the haunted mansion was amazing and was always annoyed that they got rid of it

I miss the original over the hill…I hadn’t been for years and they had changed it to a more family friendly one…but kept the undertaker on the front so I thought it was the same one :(. I got really confused and thought my memory was confusing two rides, when in actuality, the only theming that changed was the ride itself. I wanna start a protest to get rid of Spooksville and bring back the original Over The Hill.

I don’t remember the snakes, I’m not sure if I’m being stupid or whether I never saw them, I’ll have to look into it.
Update: I just checked and YES I DO REMEMBER THEM BOSHHH. It was the slide next to Rage wasn’t it. Definitely worth mentioning those in a part 2. I reckon they were removed about 10 years ago

I saw that ride when researching for the video. Will definitely mention it in a part 2
Pirate ship, there was that small pirate ship, american freeway, the powered coaster on the 8shaped track, the original fireball (zierer hexantanz) they use to have that little train with the animals, that play area with ball pits and slides. Fantasy dome, the small pirate boat tracked ride that went from the right aide of the park to the left, Space Jets, I think the dragons claw is returning under the name devils dance. (ill add if i remember any others)

Thanks mate i appreciate it, i don’t make a lot of videos anymore because i don’t have a lot of time but i have to say i really enjoy your content and i still find it funny that we were at thorpe park last year on the same day, we were on the same train on the swarm lol. There were a few rides i missed so a part 2 is definitely possible :)

@@THEMEPARKS_ALLOVER thank you, you too. You actually vlogged it last year i’m sure as it was a quiet day in april at thorpe. We managed to get on 3 times in a row that day on the swarm. In fact at one point in your vlog you were walking away from the swarm and me and my friends were at the ride photos bit

I’m honestly not sure i might try and message the park and see what they say, but i’m sure it won’t be soon. It was a pleasure to make a video that had been requested, i started it 2 months ago and finished it today, so it was worth it :)

@@j1sh8 oh dear it may be an issue with showmen or something as it’s technically a travelling ride. Fingers crossed it will be back soon

@@j1sh8 i tweeted Philip Miller and he said that Screature is returning at the end of the month. Also, I asked him about the new drop tower and he confirmed it should open in the next 18 months :)

There was a ghost train there called over the hill with a false ending but they renewed the ride and got rid of it and renamed it over the hill 2 spooksvill

we're now almost in june and still no dragons claw all they say is soon but theyve been saying that since easter last year 🤣
