    I want to give a big thank you to you, by far from what I've seen the last week or so since I first found your channel and subscribed, you have a lot more useful information and you actually explain most if not all of what you are showing. By far the best/most useful channel for gaining knowledge on the HP Tuners stuff. Thank you!

    Will you please do a video on how to actually use this in say a street environment blower car? Maybe how to actually use the torque management for the launch on a crappy prepped surface to try and hook up and bring power in gradually with the 6l80? Thanks and man this channel is the shit!

    I would suggest keeping Torque Reduction enabled and changing Speed Ctrl Terminate to Immediate.

      Keeping torque reduction enabled will allow the ECM to pull timing during shifts. When setting Speed Cntrl Terminate to Immediate, it reduces torque much quicker so you still get a faster shift time.

      Torque reduction upshift. Do NOT disable. You can tune the shifts to shift firmer and faster without doing this. This is the easiest way to damage hard parts.

    Does torque management have anything to do with initial starts? Truck doesn’t want to go sometimes on a steep hill especially from a stop. Wide open throttle on dirt road seems like it would spin the tires at least. It’s high mileage, so maybe it’s something else. 2007 Yukon XL Denali (6.2/ 6L80)

    3 questions
    I went from 340whp to 472whp with cam and bolt ons. What else do I need to touch besides torque management? It still has the stock tune. What pids do I need to touch on to compensate for that power gain?
    I’m fixing to install a 2800 torque converter soon. Any tips on what pids I need to change on the trans side?
    Lastly my 6l80 has the common 2-3 flare. Wondering if shift pressures will help?

      reset the adapts every single time you program it. Its in the scanner. Or disable adapts and tune the on/off going pressure presets manually.

    Hello from Norway!
    Thanks for many informative videos!
    I have an 2006 Corvette A6 with APS twinturbo and some minor upgrades in the transmission. Max 12psi.
    I`m having an issue with upshift on wot on high speed (130mph+) where i just have to let off the throttle to make it shift.
    The TCS flashes also sometimes in high speed wot.
    No i have updated my virtual torque table as you showed in your other video (from stock 612nm to 986nm) and i tried to raise the ecm 2869 Max torque from 650nm to 1000nm. That last thing i tried earlier also.
    The problem i get when raising the ecm2869 value is that my trans locks in third gear even from start.
    As soon as i lower it to stock 650nm it shifts again (still not on wot high speed).
    Here in Norway there are very little expertice on Corvettes, let alone tuning them.
    Can you give me some pointers?
    PS. i havent got the car on the road after updating the virtual torque becuse of weather (Norway)

      Make sure you're giving your car time to shift, when you're making a lot more power it's easy to blow past a shift point and it will struggle if that happens dealing with a similar issue myself

      Interested in hp for my 07 Yukon Denali at 180k. I have issues on the freeway with the transmission downshifting to 4th gear from 6 when passing/accelerating. 5th gear generally gets skipped over or doesn't hold long. That my transmission aging/going out or should i get it retuned? I just flushed fluids and filter change and added a billet tc with 3 clutch from Circle D. Didn't help much, so any ideas?

    Does the virtual torque tables really matter in these gen 4 since it's not really related to torque like the gen 5 will I be ok leaving them as they are even If I add a supercharger there I mean it's not going to close the throttle like it does with a gen 5 right?

    I have a cammed L86 6L80e. I’m having a hard time with a pause between shift WOT. At anything above stock shift points. Stock WOT rpm is 5800 and is shift around 5600 and just snaps it off a good shift. So I used the Blue cat tool and try to get it to shift around 6100 or 6200. And that pause starts happening again. It seems like anything over stock the truck just doesn’t respond. Should I leave the rpm alone and raise the mph to get it to shift higher.

    • @GoatRopeGarage
      @GoatRopeGarage  4 года назад +1

      RPM is going to take precedence, but remember that it you have to shift in anticipation of redline so you need to set that RPM lower. If you're fuel or spark cut is at 6200 you'll never shift at 6200, have to shift a few hundred RPMs before that.

    • @blairbarham6532
      @blairbarham6532 4 года назад

      Thanks I have the fuel cut off set to 6600. I was looking at the log alittle while ago and it’s commanding the MPH WOT every time exactly, 1-2 is 33 mph and it commanded it every time. Then a few hundred RPMs later it shifts. You think I could just move my mph up only to get it to shift alittle higher. Since it will already hitting its mark on the rpm?

    I love your videos bc there’s a ton of great info, but I think some of the torque management choices your making on this trans aren’t correct. I’d be more than happy to explain why I believe so, but upshift torque management won’t pull a ton of timing as long as the shifts are completing properly. Ct management is how it allows rev matching in manual mode as well so disabling that on some vehicles helps but not always as it takes away features without any benefits.

    • @TheHerokid672
      @TheHerokid672 2 года назад

      I agree with you. He should be reducing some of the torque management using the factors and not disabling it completely. CT downshift gets rid of rev match when the throttle is closed. Closed throttle. I don't think there's really a need to fully disable the torque management.

      make sure you reset adapts every time you program. It will flare every once in a while. I'm convinced its a bug in the adapts. I don't get it anymore after turning off adapts but requires a lot of tuning time and won't adjust when things wear out.

    I'm new to electronic transmissions so this might sound stupid.
    Is there a controller that can act as a grocery getter and then flip a switch and have a maximum effort manual shift only transmission?

    • @GoatRopeGarage
      @GoatRopeGarage  4 года назад

      Not that I know of, but you can tune the different modes to have some different levels of aggressiveness, but it depends more on the platform and TCM. Mode have at least two modes (Three if count a limp mode) that are usually designated as a sport or tow/haul mode which rely on different shift tables.

      @@GoatRopeGarage I thought as much as I've never heard of one.
      You would think that someone, other than me, would find value in a system that could transform you mild sounding turbocharged LS3 running 5 psi boost into an E85 guzzling 25 psi monster with a hard shifting tranny in the time it takes to hit 2 switches.
