The Thundercross is above average at wet running and mud running. It has an upper that can withhold some water, but it will not be as tight as a GTX shoe. So it depends on what type of runner you are and what you like. I would much rather have a good wool sock and the normal version, but others like the GTX version better. Lars
Thanks, really useful. But, I miss: how is the width of the forefoot on each model (you mention it only on Thundercross). I'm looking for a shoe to fit my wide feet, and most Salomon are too narrow. I have tried the Sense Ride, not the worst, but I still would like it wider.
@@mantasjonaitis1795 I purchased the Thundercross, and it was wide enough, but I returned them because there was a point on the left shoe that gnawed at the foot. Also, I found them a bit stiff, not very comfy. I now have two paris of Nike Pegasus Trail (one Goretex and one without), and they are roomy enough in the forefoot, and very comfy. I also have a pair of Merrell Agility Peak gtx, which also are wide enough. Not quite as comfy as the Nike (which can be a bit too soft), but probably more robust and last longer.
Thank you for this video! It was incredibly helpful. I purchased the Ultra Glide 2.
The standard Thundercross good for muddy, winter running or just the Gtx version?

Entire lineup without the best S/lab models.
