When I first went to miami, no one told me that the 6 oz cup of cafe cubano was supposed to be shared in those little cups. I drank the entire thing. I'm VERY immune to the effects of coffee but OH MY LORD i was wired for HOURS. lmaooooo. Good times.
You don't have to share your cafe cubano if you are drinking it yourself. I do that all the time as my wife who is Cuban and my daughter don't like it. So, no one to share with and thats okay with me.
It's crazy how Cubans drink it after every meal, my family quite literally has to have it after every meal and I'm talking after dinner. I love it very much it just has an insane amount of sugar lmao.
One of my best friends is Cuban. Back in the day I was going to a call of duty release (12 am) and I asked for some coffee. I drank a cup and swear I prestiged in 1 day with that stuff. Didn’t go to sleep till the middle of the night the day after
This was great and you perfectly captured the life near those little windows. I visit Miami a few times a year for business and I make a point to share several Cuban coffee's while i'm there.
Just to mention, cafe cubano or colada doesn't always have to have a lot of sugar, but I do like the sugar. Some people I know have it with little sugar or none. I can't do that. That is true, you will always find someplace open to get Cuban coffee at any time.
Cubans dominate and are everywhere in Miami and Florida buddy. The Cuban community alone is 70 percent of the Hispanic population in Florida. These other latin communities are very small compared to the cuban community in Miami And Florida and thats how it has and always will be because Cuba is 90 miles from Florida.
Since I was little I would drink my coffee every morning and I would be ready for the rest of my day. When people walk saying how tired they are I going 100mph no problem
Im trying to make cuban coffee. The only difference with me is in using a French press instead of a traditional moka pot and a milk throfer. I do get that caramel when mixing and foam. Just not strong as people say....or that could be me. Many people react to caffeine differently.
I was really scared to try cuban cuisine in Cuba because of all the cats stories ,so Versailles was my first taste of cuban delicacies including their cafecito.
I do not know what you mean by the "cat stories" the only thing I can think of is some stories about Cubans eating cats (in the island) during the "special period" and recently because of all the food scarcity. But those are horror stories to us. We do not eat cats or dogs.
@@MrMelgibstein Right, but those are just stories which we tell to highlight what is like living under communism. You have absolutely nothing to worry about eating Cuban food outside Cuba. We are just as disgusted as you when we hear of people eating cats or dogs.
So....basically coffee with way too much sugar, seems like the kind of deal Americans would like. My grandma actually does it in a similiar way and tastes way too good, but that's on the sugar.
This is cringe asf to me, being a local born and raised in Miami... Also, where tf can you get a Colada for under $1 ANYWHERE in Miami?! The price of everything is jacked tf up!
Even Mcdonalds sells Cortaditos for cheap lol They have windows and little caffetterias everywhere. I could even get Colada's at the train station when I lived there a few years ago for a dollar. Doubt that much has changed in 4 years. Lived in Miami my whole life previously as well :o

According to Ralphie May, if you drink enough Cuban Coffee, you can see into the future!

That reminds me of when Gabriel Iglesias went to La Carreta and he drank a whole bowl of cuban coffee. he bout died

Fascinating! I thought I liked my coffee, but these Miami folk make me look like a beginner.
Café Versalles, my favorite restaurant in Miami! Buen Provecho
Cuban food, omg, incredible!
And most of the little places feed you enough for two people!
Great production on these Hungerlust shorts!

Really good video thank you 👌🏽 I’m from Texas and never had the chance to try it
I gave Cuban coffee to my friend from Texas and he fell asleep instantly.
love Cuban coffee but miss me with all that damn sugar. the caffeine kick is what I want without a groggy feeling when the sugar high fades away
My Grandmother would say, you must to learn to make Cuban coffee before you can get married.
We need these in Vancouver
best.restaurant.ever. Period. End of story.
its funny cause little Havana is now filled with Venezuelans and a lot of cubans are moving into hialeah and other parts of dade county

I had a Café Cubano in New Orleans. Have yet to go to Miami though. Dying to go and try the real thing.
He-he! You gotta have chicory coffee in a cafe au lait in New Orleans!

You need the pressure from the moka pot.

Thats a lie they are starving no more that ever and stray cats and dogs are all over the streets. They don’t it.
What kind of coffee does Versailles use for the cafe?
Looked like Pilon.
La Carreta coffee!
Pilons the best! Much better than Bustelo
dont sleep on Cafe la llave
Many restaurants use Bustelo, but most Cuban American households use La Llave.
First café Cubano in Havana in 1981, with my first churros

so, a decent espresso with like almost anywhere else in the world, just with a ridiculous amount of sugar in it...?
I make coffee for a living, every single thing related to coffee preparation in this video is heinous
Yes: they lost me with the huge amount of sugar. What on earth. It seems Cubans are even worse at making coffee than Americans.
Bro Starbucks is just fucking sugar and syrup, whats the difference
